anya has stayed over at mine for the past week and a half, and i'm almost certain she's going to stay whilst i'm in south america. it's a shame i can't take her with me, but at least i will see her when i come back, just in time for the month of our first anniversary (if you don't count all the breaks and arguments).
she is the sweetest thing i know. even in her state of technically still being 'ill', she makes time for me, and time for us to have a couples time. along with that, we haven't fought since we got back together, and i genuinely think that having that almost four month long break redeemed successful, in the sense that we are a lot more stronger, and have a lot more trust with each other, which i couldn't be more happier without.
"babe?" i call through the house, standing up from my bed.
"shawn?" she shouts back from downstairs. i smile immediately, exiting my room and rushing down to the lounge, where she's seated on the couch, reading a book. she notices me, and puts the book down next to her, sending me a soft smile.
"lets go to get a coffee or something." i suggest. "come on, it's my last day here, lets go on a date."
"spontaneous much?" she smirks, chuckling. "let me get changed into something other than joggers, i'll be down in a second."
"you're gorgeous the way you are, lets go and get coffee." i chuckle, walking towards her, and holding my hands out, pulling her up softly. "tims or starbucks?"
"tims, starbucks is trash, well when you're in canada it's trash." she says, making me laugh.
"i'll meet you in the car." i lean down, pecking her lips gently, as she smiles softly at me, biting her lip. "keys are hanging next to the door."
"don't be too long." she trails off, walking away, and leaving my hand linked to hers before she actually has to let go. she walks out of the lounge, before i hear the front door slam shut.
smiling to myself, i grab my house keys, putting on a pair of trainers, before heading out and locking up the house. i open up my car driver door, getting in and buckling myself up.
"i don't want you to leave." she whispers quietly, as i pull out of my driveway, taking the short drive to tim hortons.
"i'll be back before you know it," i say back to her, grasping her smaller hand in mine, placing both our hands intertwined on my lap.
"i know, it's just the time differences, and the distance." she mumbles. "i technically never have been away from you, if you don't count our breaks. the closest i've been to away from you is in new york, whilst you're in toronto, and that luckily is the same timezone, but south america? shawn i barely won't get to talk to you."
"we will make time, and if i have i cut my set short just to talk to you, i will." i remind her, squeezing her hand softly. "you're staying at mine, right?"
"someone has to look after your place when you're gone." she jokes, making me chuckle softly.
"don't be scared, or worried, hun." i say softly. "we are in such a good place right now, do you think i wouldn't talk to you when i'm away? you're also being pretty dramatic, it's a one hour time difference."
"what? i thought it was like eight?" she asks confused, making me laugh.
"you'll definitely be hearing my voice everyday." i smirk, pulling into the car park of tim hortons.
"great," she sighs, sarcasm running through her voice, making me roll my eyes. "why didn't you tell me earlier?" she moans jokingly.
"because i thought you would know," i chuckle, squeezing her hand lightly. "i'll be an hour behind you when i'm in rio."
"that's better." she smiles to herself, sitting back in her seat and sighing.
"so are we gonna go in or waste time here?" i joke, letting go of her hand.
"right!" she exclaims, giggling, unbuckling her seatbelt. she gasps, turning up the radio, as there's nothing holdin' me back begins to blare out of the car speakers.
"shawn!" she yells, a smile on her face. "i haven't heard this song on the radio for ages!"
"oh hunny," i chuckle, smiling to myself.
"i love this song, it genuinely is my favourite song of yours." she tells me, dancing in her seat.
"well, it's about you." i mumble, thinking she wouldn't hear.
"shawn," she breathes, making me smile gently. "baby, you are amazing." she leans over her seat, wrapping her arms around my neck, burying her face into my shoulder.
"i'm really gonna miss you, anya." i mumble, rubbing her back. "i wish you could come with us, but your health is so important to me, and you can't risk it by coming."
"i'm gonna miss you too," she mumbles, sighing softly into my neck. "shawn we're in such a good place right now, and i don't want it to change."
"it won't change, i promise." i whisper back to her, as she nods, lifting her head off my neck. "it won't change at all, will it?"
"not one bit," she says, leaning forward and pecking my lips gently. "come on, lets go get that coffee."
both of us quickly get out, and i rush over to anya's side, grasping onto her hand, and swaying our hands gently as we walk up to the doors of the coffee shop.
"go get a table hun, i'll get your drink." i say softly to her, pecking her cheek.
"i gotcha." she says, chuckling lightly. "half the amount of milk, and double the coffee." she reminds me.
"i didn't need reminding, i know," i laugh. "i'll meet you in a second." she walks to a table, sitting down on one of the sides, taking her phone out and typing away almost immediately.
i smile softly at her, getting hypnotised with her beauty, almost to the point where i completely forget where i am.
"hello?" the cashier snaps me out of my trance, as i quickly turn away from her, turning my attention to the barista.
"sorry, hi, can i get two cappuccinos? one with a double shot of coffee with half milk, and one normal?" i ask the barista, as she types in my order.
"that'll be 4.77," she pauses, as i hand take out my card, quickly scanning it on contactless. "she's beautiful." she comments, making me smile and let out a small chuckle.
"oh, i know." i say, smiling. "thanks." i say, as she hands me my receipt and drinks.
"have a good day," she waves.
"thank you, you too." i reply, picking up the drinks and heading over to the table anya is sitting at. "one coffee for m'lady." i beam, putting them down on the table, as she chuckles, rolling her eyes.
"you're so cheesy." she giggles, picking up her mug.
"only the best for you." i smirk back, joining in on the joke. "so anya, how has your time in toronto been?"
"well," she starts. "it's been great, apart from having to spend it all with some weird guy called shawn mendes." she laughs, making me smile, and playfully glare at her. "joking, it's been amazing."
"you should stay here more often." i smirk. "i mean, i love canada, but i love it more when you're here."
"you're adorable, mendes." she chuckles, shaking her head at me. "purely adorable."
"i try my best." i smile cheekily, taking a sip of my coffee, as anya sighs happily, letting out a chuckle, and shaking her head.
"you are something else, shawn."
"something good or something bad?"
"something very good."

i might just start the bonus chapters once i hit chapter 80 tbh, like i've hit a point where idk what to do (or i do but i just don't want to do a huge time skip (the bonus parts are time skips but that's the whole point of them) and i'm rambling i'll stop ok bye) but anyway
can you believe tour has already started?! from what's already happened, tour looks amazing, and i literally can't wait till june to experience what shawn has planned with some of my favourite people :)
