We're going back in time. (Kind of)
(Ben's POV)
I looked away dreamily. "It all started the day I went to the callbacks. I was paired up with this girl who had long raven hair and the most gorgeous ice-blue eyes. We started acting, and I knew immediately she was as good of an actor as I was. We had this 'chemistry' that the casting director kept raving about, and an hour later, we were cast as the leads. I was stunned by her, but she acted perfectly normal around me."
Mike interrupted. "Not a good sign bud." I glared at him. "D'ya want to hear the story or not?" I asked him. He nodded.
"Anyways, after the movie was released, it made millions, and I won awards for it, and so did Erica. And the fans just kept going on and on about our chemistry, and there were fansites shipping us, and I'm pretty sure a few people wrote fanfics about us on Wattpad."
Mike grinned. "Ah, so there is chemistry!" he exclaimed. I flushed red but continued on.
"Movie companies kept wanting us for the leads, but only together. If Erica didn't come, they decided I didn't either. We starred together in a few more movies, and then Comet network approached us. They offered us huge contracts and wrote us in as the leads in a TV show. The one we're doing now."
Mike nodded. "Keep going..." he encouraged.
"And then everything went wrong in season 2..." I spat out, adopting a bitter tone. "Why?" Mike asked, thoroughly interested in the story by now. I almost laughed at his engaged expression.
"Well... in season 2, the show introduced a new villain... Cedric Watson, who was played by Joshua Hallal. Then, Erica and Josh started dating." I massaged my temples, still incredibly stressed out. Mike noticed that I was stressed, and another grin appeared on his face.
"Do you know what you need?" he asked me. "To get wasted?" I asked. "Noooo... we're going to a karaoke place!" I grinned and looked up at him "I'm guessing we're going to Cody's?" I asked. "Aw yeah, let's get ready!" he answered. "I need to change, and I'm guessing you need to as well. And you need to take a shower. You stink." I wrinkled my nose, and he laughed. "Hey, I'm not a football player for nothing." he shrugged. "C'mon, meet me back here in half an hour," I told him. He nodded and headed out.
I went into my room, (Did I mention it was a luxury trailer?) took a shower, and got changed into a light green button-up shirt and some jeans.
Minutes after I had finished dressing, I got a knock on the door. "Coming!" I answered, trying to towel off my sopping wet hair.
When I opened it, Mike came in and started laughing at the sight of me still trying to towel off my hair, despite having showered 10 minutes ago. "Hey, if anything, I'm the one who should be laughing," I defended, pointing at the golden wristwatch that had not been on his wrist the first time he had walked through my doors that day.
He blushed, and I immediately knew why he was blushing. "So... I'm guessing this Zoe girl frequents Cody's?" I asked him, smirking slightly. He blushed a deeper shade of red. "Aha!" I cried out triumphantly and walked out of the trailer with Mike.
When we arrived at Cody's, we were immediately welcomed by Cody Levine, a shortish young man with floppy brown hair that always got in his eyes. (Woop Woop, Total Drama, even though Cody's last name isn't Levine in the show.) No one was really excited to see us, considering they were all celebrities too. Cody's was strictly an A-list club, so I wondered how Mike's crush Zoe had gotten in.
I turned to Mike, and barely opened my mouth when he answered "She was my physical therapist until she became a famous social media icon. She was at the sidelines during one of the games, and an agent offered her way more money then she was getting paid by the Ram's to become a model, because, you know, she's pretty and stuff." Mike blushed but continued. "And then she decided to quit modeling and become a social media influencer."
I nodded my head knowingly. To avoid further embarrassment from me, Mike shooed me towards the stage where there were a piano and a microphone. "Go sing a song!" he told me.
I sang the song that came to my mind the quickest, and that I also knew the piano music for. I sat down on the stool and tilted the microphone towards me. No one except for Mike and Cody were watching me, but I knew they would be soon. I have been told by several casting directors that I have a very soulful and lovely voice.
"Woah-oh hm-hmm." I started. A few people turned to me. "You've been runnin' round, runnin' round, runnin' round throwin' that dirt all on my name. 'Cause you knew that I, knew that I, knew that I'd call you up," more people turned to me.
"You've been going round, going round, going round every party in L.A. 'Cause you knew that I, knew that I, knew that I'd be at one, oh," about a quarter of the crowd was staring at me.
"I know that dress is karma... perfume regret. You got me thinking 'bout when you were mine, oh. And now I'm all up on ya, what you expect? But you're not coming home with me tonight."
More than half the crowd was looking at me.
"You just want attention, you don't want my heart, Maybe you just hate the thought of me with someone new, Yeah, you just want attention, I knew from the start, You're just making sure I'm never gettin' over you."
A few bars later, everyone was standing, and looking at me with interest, like 'Who's the guy who sings it better than Charlie Puth?'. After I finished the song, they all gave me a standing ovation. One person stood out to me. While everyone else was clapping wildly, there she stood, standing next to Josh clapping quietly.
Erica Hale. Josh looked furious, and I wondered why, so I hopped off the stage to ask why. "Hey, why does Josh look so mad?" I asked him. Mike grinned widely. "Although it doesn't look like it right now, Erica's eyes were riveted to you during your performance," he informed me. I smiled, warmth spreading throughout my chest.
Mike's eyes widened, and he nodded his head towards the door. There was a young woman our age coming in through the entry, with brilliant green eyes. Because of the way Mike was blushing, and the green eyes, I figured it was Zoe. I pushed him lightly towards her. "Go get 'em, tiger," I whispered in his ear.
Oy! It's me again! Enjoy! Please vote, comment, or pretty much anything you want to do.
