Can I kiss you?
I have one thing to say. Help me. I'm addicted to seltzer, and we ran out. I am seriously suffering from withdrawl. Hellllpppp. Also, almost no one got y pro reference! Can you guess which line it is in the last chapter?
(Ben's POV)
It's our one month anniversary, and I'm honestly freaking terrified. Our new agents decided that it would be a good idea for us to move into a new house that they had bought, so, yeah.
Why did we hire these agents again?
Anyways, they already put down the deposit, so what's done is done.
Am I completely mad about having to share a giant house that's practically a mansion with Erica Hale? No. I'm not. Is it going to be incredibly awkard considering we almost kissed, and we haven't talked since
Maybe I'll finally work up the courage to tell her how I feel. I also have an amazing surprise for her!
I thought long and hard, and decided to get her a dog, a companian that would be with her for many years.
He's a tiny pitbull mix puppy who was surrendered at the tender age of a month at our local shelter. He is honestly the cutest thing I've ever seen, with his pink little nose with black patches on it, and his black and white fur, and the tiny yapping noises he makes.
I stepped up to the hulking mansion that I guess Erica and I owned now, and nervously straightened my collar. We had yet to meet the parents, and we were moving in together. And, to top it all off, we weren't even dating.
I slid my key into the lock, and pushed the door open with my shoulder, carefully cradling the puppy to my chest. I wanted Erica to name him, as another part of her gift.
"Erica?" I asked cautiously. "In the living room!" Came the answer. I walked towards the living room, and the puppy licked my chin. "Cut it out!" I chuckled. "Come again?" Erica asked.
"No, not you." I said. "Then who?" I laughed. "Here's who!" I answered, entering the living room and showing her the puppy.
She gasped in delight, squealing "A puppy!" I blinked. Since when did Erica squeal? I knew Erica, and Erica Hale did not squeal.
She fixed her gaze upon me, blushing slightly at being caught squealing. "What's his name?" She asked, trying to pretend she hadn't just squealed.
"You can squeal?" I asked incredulously. She blushed harder. "Answer the question!" She snapped. "Oh, snappy are we?" I teased.
She glared at me hard I got chills. "Fine. He dosen't have a name. You get to name him!" A wicked grin spread across her face. "Hmmm... what to name him. Perhaps... Kendall?" It was my turn to blush. "How do you know about that?" I demanded. She snorted, and answered "Oh please, everyone knows about that!"
Her expression turned thoughtful as she actually considered different names. "Okay, let's make a list. Do you know if there's any pencils or paper in this house?" I shrugged. "It's your house as much as it is mine." I answered truthfully.
After a three hour search for paper and pencils that left us no better than before, I realized we could've just made the list on my phone. "Erica, why didn't we just use our phones?" I asked. She slapped her forehead, and groaned "We're so stupid." I picked the puppy up, and said "Speak for yourself. I thought of the list."
I sat down on the couch with the puppy on my lap, and pulled up the notes app. "Alright, start listing names." I told her.
The List:
-Moose
-Kendall
-Clyde
-Chase
-Niner
-Sevvie
-Theseus
-Hemingway
-Fisher
-Pax
"Did you have to put Kendall on there?" I grumbled. She laughed, and answered "Of course I did!"
I sighed and gave a shake of my head. She giggled at my discomfort, and said "We can decide later. We have to cook dinner!"
"So what're we going to call him for now? Pup?"
"Sure." She answered. "Now let's get cookin' good lookin'!" I blushed heavily and followed her into the kitchen. "Do you know what you're doing in the kitchen?" I asked. "Er..." She said awkardly. "Oh no... I suck at cooking too. We're screwed!" I answered worriedly.
"Alright, the first step is to melt some butter for the pan." I told her. I turned my back, and by the time I had turned around, Erica had the butter on the pan.
Ten minutes later, the butter still hadn't melted, and I pointed out with a chuckle "You know what would make it melt faster? Turning the stove on."
An hour later, and plenty of mistakes later, we had dinner on the table, and our stomachs were growling.
The chicken actually wasn't half bad. The seasoning was a bit off, but otherwise it was a pretty good meal.
"Alright." Erica said. "I guess it's time for me to give you my gift." She pulled out a package wrapped in golden wrapping paper. Her expression was nervous as I opened the gift, and her expression made my heart warm. It meant she cared about me, or at least my reaction.
The gift was a necklace with my name across it.
JK GET FOOLED J
Inside was a small black leather scrapbook, and on the cover there was a sticker across it that read 'Ben and Erica's memory book.'
As I flipped through it, my eyes teared up.
There were photos of us on set together before we started dating, a photo of her lying on the ground laughing as I tickled her at mini golf, us eating ice cream together, us on the red carpet, and many many more various photos. My favorite was a photo of me draping my varsity jacket on her shoulders, and her head was twisted around to face me, smiling.
"Uh, thanks." I stuttered, my voice filled with emotion. She seemed pleased with my reaction, and leaned foward to look at the scrapbook, but at the same time I turned towards her to ask her a question.
Our faces were less than an inch apart, and the question was forgotten. Instead, I asked: "Can I kiss you?" When I talked it almost brought our lips together. She smiled, and nodded her head slightly.
Right as I was about to kiss her, I burst out laughing.
"What is it?" She asked, her ice-blue eyes filled with confusion. "Sorry. I just heard 'Kiss the girl' from The Little Mermaid in my head." I wheezed in between bouts of laughter.
"Way to ruin the moment Ripley." She teased, her grin spreading over her face. "Alright, let me do this properly." I said, and I spun her around, and for a second, nothing else mattered, and we were kissing, and it was so much better than on set, because it was real, and everything else was forgotten. What was my name again?
I pulled away, and gasped "Wow." She nodded her head. "Wow is the right word for it." She agreed.
We settled back onto the couch, her head resting on my chest. I inhaled her scent of lilacs and gunpowder, and asked "Why do you smell like gunpowder?" She winked, and answered "Training." My eyebrows raised, and I joked "For what, a CIA agent?"
She laughed and shook her head. "No, for stunts."
"Ah. Got it."
(Josh's POV)
I paced up and down the room, roving my mind for ideas. "How are we supposed to break them up?" I growled. Ashley flicked her blond hair back boredly, and checked her nails. "I know how to." She answered. I spun around quickly. "How?" She rolled her eyes. "Isn't it obvious? Erica would be hurt the most by cheating. Right?" I nodded slowly. "Yeah, but Ben won't cheat on Erica."
"Are you dumb? I could easily kiss him and make it look like he iniated the kiss." She drawled. "Why does it have to be you?" I whined. She rolled her eyes again, and answered "Because that's what's going to hurt the most for her."
