Mike and I went to this golf tournament thing a few weeks ago and my eighteenth birthday was coming up this Thursday. I know Kie was planning something but I didn't know what. The night before my birthday she told me to spend the night at her parent's house and I did.

I woke up this morning to Kie softly kissing my lips and my neck as she whispered, "Happy birthday"

"Good morning, birthday boy"

I opened my eyes to the most beautiful girl in the world looking at me. She was smiling and she said, "Happy birthday, Jayge"

"Thank you" I said in my raspy morning voice

She kissed my lips, not even caring that I hadn't brushed my teeth yet. She left the room and I took a shower and tossed some clothes on for school and went downstairs.

There were streamers, balloons, and a happy birthday banner hung up. Mike was cooking breakfast and Anna and Kie were at the table with plates full of food. Anna got up and hugged me and said, "Happy birthday"

"Thanks" I said still in shock they had done all this

Mike put a plate down at the table for me. He made an omelet, toast, hash browns, and cut-up fruit. I sat down and started eating with everyone. I thanked Mike for breakfast and he wished me a happy birthday. Kie and I left for school and she drove and she must've noticed that I was being extra quiet.

"What's bothering you?"

"Nothing, I just can't believe you guys did all that for me... Just for some stupid birthday"

"Because I love you and they love you too... Prepare yourself, there's more" 

I know that Mike and Anna have been more than kind to me but I didn't ever realize that they could love me. I've never been loved like this before. It felt good knowing that people liked me and appreciated me. I snapped out of my thoughts when we got to school.

I went to classes like normal and suffered through school, it sucked like always. It was lunch and Kie walked over to the table holding a box of cupcakes. John B insisted on embarrassing me and singing Happy Birthday to me. After school, Kie and I went to her house. We were dressing up fancy, like kook fancy. She took almost an hour to get ready but damn, it was worth it because she looked perfect. She was in a silky tight black dress.

We left and she drove to the mainland to a fancy steakhouse. The prices were insane but she told me to order something good and not look at the price. The food was amazing and we headed back. Kie and I were making out on the ferry and before anything could actually happen, it was time for us to get off and drive home. 

We got back to the Carrera's and went inside and Mike and Anna were waiting for us. They had a bunch of presents on the table and a cake. We did the whole signing happy birthday thing and then it was present time. They had gotten me some fishing stuff, a new golf club,  a few graphic t-shirts, and some other things. Kie gave me this shark tooth necklace, it was the shark tooth we found on the beach together.

They had given me plenty when Mike said, "There's one more"

"You've already given me plenty," I said 

"This one is outside," He said

We all got up and went into the garage and there was a truck with a big bow on it. I looked at Mike and asked, "Are you fucking serious?"

Mike laughed and said, "Yes, dead fucking serious"

I had tears in my eyes and said, "I can't accept it, I'll never be able to repay you"

"That's the best part about a gift, you don't ever have to repay us..."

I hugged him and he said, "You're a good kid, JJ, and that bike you've got isn't reliable, especially not to drive my daughter around on"

"I don't even know what to say except thank you" I said looking at Mike and Anna

"You're so welcome, happy birthday, JJ" Anna hugged me

Mike tossed me the keys and said, "Take it out for a spin"

I looked at Kie and she was smiling. I looked at Mike and Anna and said, "Come with"

They got in the backseat, letting Kie sit up front and I got in the driver seat and started the engine. I drove it around and. I couldn't stop smiling. Kie got a selfie of all of us. I parked it back in the driveway and we went inside and talked for another hour or so and then it was getting late. 

Kie said she was going to shower and get ready for bed and I thanked Mike and Anna again and then I headed up to bed. My door was shut which was odd, but when I opened it, Kie was in my room. I closed the door and whispered, "What are you doing in here?"

"As far as my parents know, I'm in the shower" She said as you could hear her shower running

I laid down processing everything that happened today. I've never really celebrated my birthday before and now the Carreras went all out to celebrate my birthday. I don't remember falling asleep but I got up to my alarm, I'm so happy today is Friday.
