05| The Little Demons

"The babysitter club?" I repeat with a soft laugh. "What kind of club is that?"

"The kind I don't want to be apart of." He huffs, and crosses his arms over his chest.

"I'm being serious! I've never heard of a club like that before." I admit, trying to hold back a laugh but my cheeks feel like they're about to explode.

"It's a club created specially for the single parent teachers. There's really no need to fret over the details." He mumbles then he sharply stands up to lean over the chair that is separating us both. "And your cheeks are as chubby as Jimin's right now, stop stiffling a laugh, you egg." He softly pokes my cheek, and finally, I breathe again.

"I can't imagine you taking care of little kids." My voice is candid, and I take ahold of his finger that's poking at my cheek and I go on to stare at his entire hand- and it's insanely beautiful and soft. Dear Namjesus. "Why'd you join in the first place if you want to drop out? Or can't you resign or something. I'm sure we're allowed that much if we don't like a club."

"The reason's personal and Principal Bang doesn't want me leaving that horrific club." He gently pulls his hand away from me and leans against the desk, going on to tuck those magically beautiful hands of his into his pockets.

I pout, raising a finger up to my face, "Alright fine then. Can you at least tell me what's so bad about the babysitter club that you want out? Kids are cute."

"Are you insane?" He deadpans, and his voice goes deep, sending chills throughout me but all I do is watch him slip out his smartphone and he quickly scrolls through it.

"Look at what these little demons do." He whines, shoving the smartphone into my hands.

"Calling them little demons is a bit hars- oh my lord."

As soon as my eyes falls over the photo on the screen, my lips part in shock.

The photo shows an annoyed looking Taehyung, with his uniform blazer all covered in snort and the five little kids that are present in the photo are either pulling at his hair, biting his hands or hanging from his neck tie.

"They're little demons aren't they?" He presses, with an exasperated sigh.

"I can see why you're not in your blazer..." I look up at him with a sheepish smile as I hand him back his smartphone and judging from this photo, he's not entirely wrong.

"And take a look at this..." He tucks his smartphone away and hands me one of his notebooks.

"Oh lord..." My eyes traces over all of the crayon writing that's covering the pages containing his algebra equations. "Wait... This is so cute."

"It's not cute." He counters, pulling slightly on my bangs but I ignore him and continue speaking.

"It's says that you're the best hyung and I love you Taehyung oppa." I smile up at him. "Although it's supposed to be hyung because from the photo, they're all male."

"Aish, for you to say all of that despite all of the evidence, it must really mean you love kids." He gets up, and slips his notebook into his backpack. "So, what do you say? You're in or out?"

I purse my lips for a second before finally hopping off the desk, "I don't really have a choice, do I?"

"No, you don't." He smiles and gently ruffles my hair, then he takes ahold of my hand, tugging me towards him and when my cheek hits against his body, it flushes a shade of red. "We still have some time before class starts. Why don't we head to the babysitter club, jagi?"

"Jagi?" I repeat.

Somehow that word hit differently when Taehyung said it as compared to Minho- and it makes my cheeks flush even brighter.

We both stroll down the hallway, making our way towards the babysitter club, which I may have to join thanks to Taehyung and his deal, which literally screams alchemy's law of equivalent exchange.

Honestly, I've never heard of such a club before nor had I expected Taehyung to be apart of something like that. It's mind boggling.

Also, there's still that lingering question of why he's in it in the first place. I really can't help but wonder what's his reason but I'm not nosy enough to dig into his personal matters- I know my place.

Maybe that reason is why he spends literally all of his time there.

"Is this banana milk?" Taehyung voices in disbelief and catastrophically I end up bumping right into his back.

"Owie." I rub my forehead, a little as I peek out from behind him only to find the floor totally covered in a yellow liquid that I immediately pin as my banana milk.

We've arrived at the notice board and the memory of me turning that little bottle of delight into a weapon of mass destruction, not very long ago, crosses my mind.

"Aha." I sheepishly laugh. "I guess so... But let's just keep moving." I push on Taehyung's back trying to get him to move but alas his mounted on the ground like a huge heavy boulder.

"Is that why you smelt like banana milk and the trash bag?" Taehyung turns to face me with a light chuckle sweetly escaping his lips.

I scratch the back of my head shyly, "Maybe."

"Then is there even a need for me to be your boyfriend?" He chuckles a little more, and ruffles my hair once more. "You seem capable enough on your own."

"Yah." I hold onto his wrist with a pout. "I barely made it out alive."

"I'm kidding." He grins, turning to face the notice board then he leans slightly forward as if he's searching for a certain flyer. "Hmm, where is it?"

I go up to him, and stand beside him, "What are you looking for?"

"Ah, there it is." He finally cooes, stretching his hand towards the corner of the notice board and he removes one of the practically million flyers that's on there. "Here." He releases the flyer from within his grasp, obviously expecting me to catch it but unfortunately air resistance takes over so I fail to do so.

As it sinks to the ground, I make futile attempts to catch it. Once it settles on the floor I quickly pick it up, all the while having Taehyung watch my disastrous attempts with a look of despair.

Nonetheless, I give it a scan.

"The babysitter club." I mumble, noticing a few chibi styled drawings of kids printed across the flyer and they're actually pretty cute, and together with that there's some slogans but one in particular catches my attention. "Fun and safe place for your toddlers..."

I snort, "I don't think the fun and safe part applies to you."

"Aish." Taehyung groans, as he pulls on my bangs again. "Of course it doesn't. It should be marked as a harzard zone and let's get a move on."

As we walk, I read every inch of the flyer and I also ask Taehyung a few questions about babysitting itself because by the time I reach there I need to have some type of idea of what I'm getting myself into, drawn in my mind, especially since I don't want to end up like Taehyung in that photo.

As it is, I already have Taehyung pulling at my hair all of the time now- I guess he must have picked up on some of the kids habits- so I really don't need those kids doing it as well but then again how bad can they really be?

"And here we are." Taehyung beams, as he places either of his hands on my shoulders.

I gasp at the contact, having my eyes abruptly pryed away from the flyer and it immediately darts to the sliding glass door that's in front of me.

On the door, there's a bunch of random letters from the hangul alphabet plastered across it, along with some numbers and above all of that is a banner with the words, The Babysitter Club printed across it in a bright blue, that kind of almost hurts the eye.

"I really don't know how they'll react to a female student because you'll be the first." Taehyung whispers in my ear, and those words somehow sounds so devilish to me, almost like I'm about to walk straight into a nightmare. "But I guess there's a first time for everything and all I can say is goodluck."

"Ah?" My breath gets stuck in my throat.

"Ready or not. Let's go." Taehyung hollers, sliding open the door, and immediately I hear screaming and yelling.

He walks inside with me firmly attached to his back because he inflicted fear into me at the very last second. Once he stops, I peer passed him and scan the surrounding area. My eyes linger for bit, it scans the blue carpeted floors, multiple pillows, a small table and a huge window but then, I see them.

The little demons.

There's five of them, each looks to be around the same age- like five or so- and height but with differing hair colours. They all have soft-looking, cute and innocent facial features with huge smiles but their actions speak the opposite because they're either standing on or around a supinely positioned adult male that has silverish hair.

I gulp, watching two of them, one with blonde and the other with brown hair, pull at the man's leg while another two, with blue hair and chestnut brown hair, push and pull at his tummy and the last one with black hair, laughs loudly as he pokes the man with a toy sword on his cheek to which he doesn't even react let alone twitch.

"Is the silver haired guy dead?" I mumble from behind Taehyung, gripping slightly onto his shirt. "Will I end up like that too?

"Let's hope not." Taehyung chuckles softly. "But hyung might as well be because he sleeps like ninety nine percent of the time and through anything."

"Yah. That's such a mean thing to say." I poke Taehyung's side, and stand beside him only to hear a soft chuckle from him.

"Yah! Hyung, get up! I swear you can pass as a coma patient!" Taehyung suddenly hollers and all of the kids instantly halt their actions and look our way- their faces instantly brightens up when they see Taehyung and my heart softens at the sight.

The kids quickly jump off the man and make towards Taehyung but regretfully, they immediately stop when they see me. I cock a brow in confusion but my attention is soon diverted when the silver haired man, groggily sits up and my brain immediately registers just how pale his complexion is.

As soon as he gets up, and wipes his sleepy eyes with a little yawn, all of the kids stands behind his leg and peer up at Taehyung and I so I send them a little wave but they all get freightened and run towards the corner, where the pillows are, to huddle up.

I gasp softly, "Why are they running away?"

"Aish, just be glad they are." Taehyung pats my now slouching shoulder.

I feel so heartbroken because being rejected by little kids is worse than stubbing your little toe on a piece of furniture.

"Taetae ah~." The man drawls monotonously with a little yawn. "I see you're back..."

"Unfortunately." Taehyung's hand slips from my shoulder. "Soo Yeong ah~, this is Min Yoongi. He's an alumni that runs this dump." He introduces and Yoongi opens up one of his eyes to get a look at me but I only stare at him as I recollect a memory from that horrific Saturday.

I remember Taehyung had said he had a phone call from someone named Yoongi so I guess this must be that person. No wonder he didn't open up about it because it must have been club related matters.

"As you can see from the shade of his hair, he's old and stressed out with these five poop factories." Taehyung continues, with a little smirk as he pats Yoongi on the shoulder.

"Yah. It's dye." Yoongi reprimands as he tiredly ruffles his hair but despite that I give a little bow as a greeting. "Is she signing up?" His gaze falters from Taehyung to me, and he has a soft almost gummy like smile on his lips.

"Deh, and she's going to help get me out of this place." Taehyung informs.

"Aish Tae, we've talked about this already." Yoongi holds onto Taehyung's shoulder's and sighs deeply. "You know you can't leave because of Principal Bang and especially because of your grandp-."

"Hyung."

Taehyung suddenly cuts him off, and I look at them with confused eyes.

Taehyung's grandparents? What do they have to do with this?

Yoongi exhales deeply as he slowly releases his hold from Taehyung, "You know, if Principal Bang finds out that you've suddenly dropped out of this club. He's definitely going to make you join back up and he'll obviously be harsh about it by making you spend every second of your free time here as he already does."

My eyebrows raise in surprise after hearing Yoongi's words. I guess the theory about Taehyung not being with Jimin, Jungkook or I during lunch or any free periods is because of this club but why in the world is Principal Bang so hellbound on making Taehyung spend his time here unless it's somehow tied to his grandparents?

"But if no-one tells him that I've left then it'll be fine, hyung." Taehyung counters with his palm out in front of him and I look over at him to see a small grin over his lips.

"It's not that simple since Principal Bang checks up on us especially because of you." Yoongi mumbles, bringing his hand up to his chin and pursing his lips in thought. "But I can offer a suggestion now that she's here." He turns to face me, and I just send him an awkward smile because I don't really understand what's going on.

"A suggestion?" Taehyung questions, with a raised brow.

"You said she's going to help get you out of here." Yoongi simply repeats what Taehyung had articulated earlier. "Then, I suggest we pass onto her, your duties and responsibilities that you would normally hold in this club."

"Whatever those responsibilities and duties are, I'll gladly accept it." I declare, after keeping quiet all the while, then both males looks over at me. "I made a deal with Taehyung so I'm going to fulfil my end of it no matter what."

Yoongi smiles that soft gummy smile again and I notice Taehyung's eyebrows furrow slightly but then a small smile forms over his lips, "Sounds good."

"But..." Yoongi suddenly blurts, making my body tense up. Is there more conditions? "Taehyung, you're still going to be a fully fledged member. It's just that you're not going to look over those wonderful kids so don't completely abandon them. Come in once in a while and check up on them."

Taehyung heaves a heavy sigh as he places his hands on his hips, somewhat frustratedly, "Alright fine."

"Soo Yeong." Yoongi suddenly states, and I look sharply at him, waiting for him to speak up again. "To become an official member. I'll need you to write out a declaration but let me find a paper first-"

"Aish, can't she just use this, hyung?" Taehyung motions at the flyer in my hands and Yoongi turns back around.

"That's perfect." He says, motioning for me to take a seat beside the little table I saw earlier. "Write as I speak..."

I quickly take out a pen, which I had shoved into my blazer, earlier, when I went club-hunting. I click the pen and await Yoongi's words.

"I Soo Yeong..." He starts, and I feel Taehyung peering over my shoulder when my pen touches the paper. "And whatever your last name is, declare membership into The Babysitter Club on so and so date. I pledge to be respectful, loving and fulfil the duties that are required as a babysitter and then sign it."

I do my best to neatly write out the declaration as Yoongi dictates and once it's finally written out, I look over it before neatly imprinting my signature at the bottom left.

I smile once I'm done and hand it back to him.

Yoongi gladly accepts it and gives it a little fold as he tucks it into his shirt pocket, "Sorry for not having an already printed out declaration, as you can see we don't usually get people joining."

I smile and give little bow, "It's fine."

"Soo Yeong ah~ is probably going to be the first and last person to join this place." Taehyung dryly states as he throws a hand over my shoulder and leans against me, "Welcome to hell."

"Kudos to you, kid and don't scare her Taehyung ah~." Yoongi flicks Taehyung's forehead, and he groans softly. "Anyway, why don't we meet the little guys."

After his words, my gaze falls over the little bunch of kids, whose still huddled in the corner after all this time.

A/n: Can you guess who are the little demons? bahahaha but it's pretty obvious because there's a lot of hints, in fact in every chapter thus far whoops.
