We continue:) 11. The battle

Faithpaw sighed, her head pounding with tiredness.  Flameheart was out, and she had to treat all the warriors herself.  And even after that, the clan had found aut about rushleap amd were.holding vigil for the young warrior.  Faithpaw and a few older warriors had to miss it.  Not that she was good friends with the tom, anyways.

SIghing, faithpaw headed to get more cobweb, only to see it was gone.  She had used it all.  Groaning,  Faithpaw took some leaves, marigold, and some long grass from the ground.  She licked the back of the oak leaves, then chewed up the marigold, placed the poltice onto the oak leaves.  She then used the long grass to bind it to a she cat's leg.

''Come back to get that replaced for real cobweb tomorrow, okay?  You can leave," faithpaw said her eyes drooping.  A minute of sleep wont hurt, will it?  Faithpaw thought, laying in her nest.  Sleep hit her like a monster.  Then a voice woke her up.

"Faithpaw, what are you doing, get to work"!  Faithpaw groaned and started to stand.  Her legs shook as she hung her head in embarrassment.

"I-Im sorry", her voice shook in part fear and looked at her paws.  She scurried to the medicine dem, sending dirt fliying.  She felt groggy and partly vulnerable.

"I leave you for a day and you cant last?  Oh, i forgot im sorry, you had a den of hurt warriors.  And were out of cobweb, on no!  Go get sleep, you need it, faithpaw", Flameheart said, his voice clear with half annoyance and half humiliation.  Faithpaw padded back to her nest.  When she closed her eyes, voices came to her head.

" Revenge".

 "Kill".

"Attack" .

"Come Faithpaw," Faithpaw shook her head, then slowly fell asleep.  When she did, she woke up in a field, the same place she always had her vision.  But it was diffrent.  No fire, no moonlight, her mom... this was the place of her vision, but not it.  A cat padded to her.

"Welome, little un.  We have heard you calls for revenge", a dark she cat said.  A diffrent cat ran to them.

"Feather, we have to find h- oh, you did", a tom said happily.  One had a silver pelt, with light grey striped, the other had a dark gray pelt, with lots of little black dosts, almost like stars.  But they didnt give off a good vibe.

" you sure we should tell her our name", the dark she cat asked the tom.  The tom nodded.

"Duh, mouse brain, leader would want us too".  The tom gave a skip.  At the word 'leader' Faithpaw dashed off, her gut telling her to.  She had no idea where she was going, but she left it and woke up gasping.  Hisses filled the camp.  Jumping from her nest,  she could tell that Flameheart was trying to protect the medicine den.  Leaping into battle, Faithpaw realized she had no experience with battling.  Faithpaw looked and tried to do what Flameheart was doing, but ended up, once again, pinned on the ground.  Faithpaw acted dead, a move all cats knew.

The warrior didnt even loosen, but just whispered in her ear.

"I know your secret", the cat said.  Faithpaw felt shock pulse through.  Then realised this cat was lying.  Her reason?  She didnt have any secrets.  Unless this was...  Faithpaw shook her head.  It couldnt.  She wouldnt believe it for a heart beat.    It was impossible.  One of the cats she trusted.  One of the only ones she trusted.

But it was...  It was the cats.  She couldnt deny it.

Sheeptuft.

What did sheeptuft know?  And did Dovefur know?  Faithpaw closed her eyes, awaiting death to some.  Them spat out.

"What's stopping you, Sheeptuft?  Just do it.  Its not like anyone would care about a medicine cat like me", Faithpaw paused, then continued hoping her plan would work.  "And Dovefur wouldn't care.  I dont think she considers me a 'friend' at this point.  Flameheart wouldn't care.  He'd go on with his duty, he wouldn't let me stop him.  And he has a mate to take care of".  Faithpaw desperately hoped this would work.  Was this her destiny?  To be a toy?  Faithpaw felt a burst of energy and let instinct kick in.  Roaring, she leapt up and snarled.  She then slamed into Sheeptuft with her head.  Faithpaw felt dizzy as she did.  She felt claws rip into flesh.  She gasped, then got off.  The feeling of flesh had awoken her.  Shuddering, Faithpaw leapt out of camp, hoping to find peace.  Although, she didnt, it was much more peaceful.

Faithpaw padded to the lake.  She hoped to find dock, or at least wash her wounds.  she saw a glimmer of light.  It was weird.  Not like due.  It... Was like the stars... Or sun.  Sitting, she saw it agin.  Could Starclan be sending a sign?  A cat appeared in front of her.

"your our only hope, Faithpaw.  Save us", the voice said, then continued. She saw the cat.  It was Lightkit.

"Lightkit", she exclamed happily.  Smiling, they touched noses.

"Faithpaw, your the clans last hope.  The cat that has been searched for for ages.  The lungs of the clans.  The warriior code is the heart, and starclan is the heartbeat of the clans.  But you will help keep us alive.  Danger will rise, but not in the way you think it will, Faithpaw ", Lightkit dissapeared, the kits shape slowely blending with the waters color.  How could Faithpaw help the clans if they didbt listen to her!  Faithpaw clenched her teeth in frustration and shock.  All she wanted to do was plunge into the water.  Why had Lightkit come to her in the middle of battle?  Did it mean something?  The sounds soon quieted down.  Most likely a clan had gone home to rest, or a clan had won the battle.  Faithpaw hoped it was the first thought.  She couldnt bare it being the second.

But in her heart, something all the cats around the lake would know, one clan had won the battle
