Magnus woke up in shock suddenly from his dream screaming for Alec's name. Soon, Jack and Mary barged in the room, slamming the door open and saw Magnus sitting on the bed hugging his knees. He was crying rocking his body front and back. Jack went and hugged his son and Magnus wrapped his arm around his dad's neck. "I need to see Alec dad, he's in danger. We need to go to the hospital." Jack pulled away from their hug and rested his hand on Magnus' both shoulder. "Mags, we will see him in the morning. You need to rest, you need sleep."

Magnus shook his head and pushing his father away so he could get off the bed. "I need to see him, I need to make sure he's okay." He pushed him away and placed his feet both on the floor. But Jack was faster and grabbed Magnus body back to bed. "Magnus, you need rest, don't-" his words were interrupted by a ringing of Magnus' phone. He quickly grabbed from the nightstand and answered it without seeing who's calling. "Hello."

"Magnus, you need to come to the hospital, something happened to Alec." It was Isabelle. Luckily for him, Jack heard what Izzy said, her voice doesn't exactly need a speaker to be heard. Jack immediately stood and went out from the room leaving Magnus and Mary hanging in confusion. "Mum please I need to see Alec, you can't stop me or asking me to stay." Magnus hurried himself to his closet and grabbed a pair of jeans and spotted Alec's green sweater. He put it on his body and took a sniff of Alec scent around the collar. He felt how his tears was threatening to fall but he hold back. He was about to leave the room when he saw his dad already dressed up and hold his car key with him. "Lets go." He signed and Magnus nodded before he follow behind.

"Stay here, we will update you what happen." Jack was signing his wife to stay at home instead tiring herself waiting at the hospital and he clearly won't let Magnus drive in this condition. Mary didn't fight against her husband on this but she went and hugged his tall body and whispered him to stay safe and to call if anything. Jack kissed her cheek and went to the car where Magnus already seated nicely strapped with the seatbelts on the passenger seat.

"What happened?" Magnus was running towards the Lightwood which he just saw few hours ago but now here they are again - waiting in the visitor lounge. Isabelle hugged Magnus in tears but she couldn't explained what happened and he also saw Maryse was held by Robert. She was sitting on the chair and Robert hugged her while rubbing her back to soothe her. The whole thing was confusing to Magnus and he already saw this why he had to see it again. Jack came behind Magnus and saw them in grief. He went to Robert and placed his hand on Robert's arm with a soft grip. Robert turned his head and face Jack worried expression. He saw Robert had tears flowing and his eyes are red shot. "What happened?" He asked softly in concern.

"We don't know, we got a call from the hospital to come cause Alec is deteriorating, when we got here one of the doctor came out and said Alec is in critical condition and they are trying their best to save him." As soon as he finished his words, Maryse sobs turned louder. "I don't get it, the doctor said he's stable why suddenly he's in critical condition?" Magnus suddenly asked and they all turned quiet. Izzy was still in his arm sobbing in her tears.

They waited for another three hours and the sun already shine outside. The light made the room more visible and more brighter. Maryse already fell asleep on Robert's shoulder while Izzy on Magnus' lap. Jack was pacing around waiting for literally anyone to walk in the room and tell them what the hell is going on. But to his disappointment the only person who came is the hospital housekeeper came to emptied the trashcan.

As all of them lost in their thoughts and prayed for Alec being, suddenly a man came with a tired face and his scrubs are green instead of blue. Its the same doctor who treated Alec yesterday. "Mr and Mrs. Lightwood. May I have a word?" He asked. Robert and Maryse quickly jolted from their seat and headed near the doctor follow by Magnus and Izzy. When the doctor looked at Magnus and Jack they all turned and looked at each other. "It's okay, he's a friend." Robert claimed. Magnus couldn't help but felt a small smile curved on his lips, how he wished Alec would be here to witness how his father changed to someone who he wished to be.

"Before I explained everything we need to clarify something first." The doctor began. They all looked at him in concern and fear waiting for the next word came out from the doctors mouth. "I want to know why is there someone trying to kill your son?"

Their mouths all gasped and dropped upon hearing the word kill. "W-What do you mean?" Maryse asked. He sighed before he flipped the file open and his eyes lurking searching for something on the paper. "I received a paged that your son around four in the morning was not breathing and there is no pulse. My nurse charted his last vitals sign around 0330H with a good and steady pulse but half an hour later he was pulseless. I never screwed up a patient and if its because of complications after the surgery I would have checked it out before I go. We did a scan there's no active or new bleeding noted. Apart from his lung condition which improves better after his last treatment so there couldn't have the reason why his heart suddenly stop beating. I got suspicious and I went to checked the CCTV by myself cause I don't want to get a law suit for killing a patient. Then, I found something else."

He quickly pulled out his phone and showed them a video of the CCTV which he saved before he came to them. The video played showed inside of ICU where the female nurse came out after giving Alec's medication where suddenly a man wear a hospital scrub exactly like the nurse and wore a mask to hide his face. He was tall and skinny and he had a hair cover so it was impossible to recognized him. He went in for about fifteen minute and they couldn't see what he did cause the curtain is closed but when he went out from Alec's room and about seconds later all the people stormed in the cubicle saving Alec's life.

"Whoever this guy is, we have no record of him working in our hospital. We couldn't do face check cause it was hidden so if there is anyone you suspected better to inform the police when they are here later." All of them had a shocked look on their face. "The police?" Izzy asked. "Yeah, this is already attempt murder and I wont let anything happen to my patient." He said before he was rudely interrupted by a beeping sound from his pager.

"When can we see Alec?" Magnus asked tempting not to get angry cause he knew very well what happen. He decided not to tell anyone what he had plan. "You may see him after the police got here, we need to get the report done and after that only you guys can see him. Don't worry I have put security around to protect Alec." They all felt relieved and Maryse hugged the doctor repeatedly thanking him for what he had done. He went beyond any doctor would do only to save Alec.

They were still in the room while the officer asked questions which only Magnus and Izzy did most of the talking. To their surprised Alec holds a lot of secrets from his parents. Robert felt ashamed how he couldn't be there to protect Alec. There were things that Izzy and Magnus said that brought more question than answers. Especially the part where Sebastian raped Alec and no one report about it and to their disappointment they can't file an old case without any evidence. None of their stories would bring Sebastian Atler to justice since no one has a conclusive proof on what happened to Alec. Furthermore all the shits that happened to Alec will and shall not be filed for anything against Sebastian and they classified as a hate crime cause Alec is gay. Robert and Jack were furious when they heard the officer said that and they almost to be arrested for assaulting an officer but thanks to kind word by Dr Barnes they were release by a warning. He was furious too and to Magnus surprised his face hidden with more secrets which explained why he reacted the way he did to Alec. He did more than a doctor should treat a patient.

In order to calm everyone down, Dr Barnes promised them that they could see Alec, all of them. When Maryse and Magnus walked into the room, their heart shatters and tears flowing like a waterfall. Alec lay there with all the monitors and the respirator to help him breath, safely intact on his mouth. Magnus couldn't bear his heart, he leaned toward Alec's ear, resting his forehead on Alec's and whispered. "I love you Alexander, hang on for me. Stay alive, don't give up on us." He clenched Alec's hand with his and kissed Alec's forehead. How he yearned for kissing Alec's lips but he couldn't. He was interrupted by a sudden text on his phone and when he looked at it, he sighed.

'Are you free? Can we meet?'

The text mention. It was from Zachariah and Magnus forgot to fill in details about what just happen. He replied with a simple text to meet at the usual spot. He shoved back his phone inside the sweater and looked at Jack. "Dad, I need to meet someone, can I go?" He can't say he will meet up with Zach cause he knew his father hated that boy. He didn't actually hate Zach but he hated the world Zach in. "Where are you going?" He asked Magnus. Magnus turned and looked at Alec while stroking his black hair with his finger. It was soft and smooth and how Magnus loves stroking it. "I just need some time alone. I can't see him like this." He lied. But in his defense, he did feel bad seeing Alec so fragile and helpless. They nodded and when he felt a hand gripping his, he really thought it was Alec who held it back but only to find Maryse was the one who holds it. Gripping it with assurance that everything will be alright, Magnus nodded before he took his leave.
