"Emily" He stopped me.

"David" I said coolly with a smile.

It looked like it was giving him hard time to say something to me. He took a long pause before he said - "You are looking stunningly beautiful, like my beauty, like I always imagined"

I knew it would come but hearing it now, as the very first thing, caught me off guard. I blushed again.

"I really mean it very genuinely." He said to make me feel comfortable

"Thank you, David" I said with a smile.

He was quiet. I knew it was my turn to ask something. That is how a conversation goes but I was feeling too shy. I told myself I can do it and I decided to ask the first question that came to my mind.

"You liked the gift I sent?"

"I adore it." He then showed me his right wrist on which he been wearing the watch I gifted him.

"It's looking perfect in your hand"

"Should be, because a perfect girl selected it for me"

I wanted to hug him right then but I didn't. I was feeling so shy and awkward.

"I missed you Emily" He said in a soft soothing voice.

There, he said it and I felt my heart found the meaning to beat.

My name from his lips made it sound all the more sweet and lovely to hear. I looked at his face and his eyes glistened as he looked at me with a pleasant smile on his lips. We looked at each other and I knew I was going to be lost again. Like a spell been cast upon us, we quietly stood there, watching each other.

"Ladies and Gentleman, Can I have your attention please?."

The spell got broken with the announcement. We looked together at the stage where dj was standing along with his fellow members and equipments all placed on a straight line.

"We are going to play some great music so please come up to the dance floor with your partners. I would like to call upon Miss Emily Walters to do the honor of starting the first dance"

I was Stunned. Nervous. I searched for my Mom and saw my parents standing with a group of people along with Uncle Sam and Aunt Martha. He saw my hesitation and with his eyes urged me to go on.

"Miss Emily Walters, please come up in stage with your partner." Dj said.

Few guys in the room started to look at me with hope in their eyes that I would dance with them and I was feeling like I will fall down.

I never knew i had to dance! I know how to dance but never danced in public.

David "Emily, they are asking for us, come"

Us? Come? Is he asking me to dance with him?

I gave him a confused look and then he put his right hand Infront of me asking me : "Can I have the pleasure of dancing with you, Miss Emily Walters?"

I smiled as I said "Sure", resting my hand on his and we walked together to the dance floor. The dj announced that the first dance will be Taylor Swift's Love Story and it has to be a ball-room dance as requested by Miss Sarah Johnson.

My eyes automatically searched for Sarah and I found her standing at the middle of the crowd of people along with my Dad, Uncle Sam and Aunt Martha, smiling at us and waiting for us to start the dance. John was smiling too but his eyes were upon Sarah.

The music began and as David put his hand around my waist and on my shoulder as he brought me closer and I rested my hands on him, the memory of our lat night together at Rosedale flashed in my mind and my eyes went misty as we started to dance. David too seemed to be emotionally caught up with the memories. Our eyes watery, our expressions a mixture of happiness and sadness as the conversation of that night with our mother re-played on our minds.

I turned to look where she was standing and I gave a very bright smile. We both exchanged a happy look and u saw my dad putting his hand on her shoulders and smiling at us.

"Our parents look so happy, Emily." David said very softy in my ear's as he came closer for a move. "I told you everything will be fine"

I gave a tearful smile of agreement but made sure my tears doesn't run out.

Finally, we were back together, dancing with him as on that night when our fate seemed sealed as we were caught but Mom very wisely handled everything for us and it's all because of her that today I could meet him.

He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said..."

I opened my eyes and I saw him kneeling down forwarding his right hand towards me, holding a beautiful ring in his hand.

One moment I was looking at him and next our parents. My mouth open as I saw my mom winking at me and dad smiling. David's parents were hugging each other in joy smiling at us. Sarah was happily raising her thumb and John was cheering in full spirits at us.

The song ended and my heart was so delightfully overjoyed I couldn't help but wonder if everything is real or a dream.

I gave David my hand and he inserted the ring in my ring finger. As I wore the ring and David took my hand and kissed it, everyone clapped and cheered together.

David stood up and holding both my hands said "I love you, soon to be Mrs Emily Johnson"

"I love you too" I said happily, feeling so emotional though.

So this was my Dad's Surprise Birthday present.

Our parents came up on the stage and my mom handed me a ring for David. I placed it on David's finger and the look in his eyes was making me melt from inside.

We all hugged each other. Everyone was smiling, cheering, was happily blessing and wishing Me and David.
