Asher's POV

Aria's parents walk in. Clearly they wanted to yell at her. But then they notice me. Her parents' eyes narrow.

"Aria," her mother says through a very fake smile, "who is this?"

Aria blushes, because we hadn't prepared to tell her parents anything, and says, "My boyfriend."

Her father's jaw practically hit the floor. Her mother still has her teeth clenched in the fakest smile of all time.

"Um. So, hi. I'm Aria's boyfriend Asher. Nice to meet you," I stammer as I stick out my hand. Her mother shakes it.

"I didn't realize Aria had a boyfriend. Nice to meet you too." Her mother says. She then proceeded to interrogate me about my family, where I came from, how Aria and I met, and other things. Aria and I had created a false identity for me. To her mother, I had 2 younger sisters, and only my father to look after us. I also came from the town, and has never left it. And, I met Aria after school one day, while she was going home.

"What a charming young man," her mother purred when I was done. I grin. Not genuinely, of course, but because it's the correct response according to Aria.

Her parents eventually leave us alone, allowing us to escape.

Aria's POV

I laughed when we were out of the window.

"I can't believe it worked!" I exclaim. Asher just smiles sweetly and nods.

Time to leave forever. We dash into the woods, never once looking back.
