Nalu~Princess and the Dragon
Third person POV
A tear slid down his scaley face as he watched her. A sigh escaped his large chest. He watched her in the distance, beautiful golden hair that glistened in the sunlight, doe brown eyes that he could get lost in, soft, smooth milky skin that he wished to caress. He wanted to touch her hair, dreamed to stare into her eyes for hours on end, wished to be the only one to touch. He laughed silently to himself. No. None of his dreams would ever come true. Why? Because who would love a dragon?
Lucy POV
I had just finished rejecting Dan for the 900th time. I sat in a feild of flowers as I awaited him. My best friend, Natsu. The thing about Natsu was, he wasn't your everyday, uhhh guy. I sat in my tunic that I stole from the barracks. I was quite tall so I could fit. As a princess of a constantly warring country, I was trained to fight, but I was never allowed on a real battle feild. I swung my sword around a little, admiring the jewels in its hilt.
I heard soft beating of wings behind me, followed by a thud. I smiled to myself, pretending to ignore him. I swung my celestial keys around my finger. He padded over and sat beside me in the tall, my best friend. Natsu. Natsu the big pink dragon. Or as he likes to call it, salmon. I reached up and scratched under his chin. He let out a soft huffing noise. I laughed a little.
"Hello Natsu." I said, his onyx eyes met mine. He gave me a dragonish grin.
"Hiya Luce!" He said, his body morphing into his human form. I stood up and hugged him tightly. His scarf billowed in the wind.
"I missed you! It's been a while. How was mating season?" I asked. I hated the subject. The though of Natsu never being around me anymore was saddening but I wanted him to be happy. Even if it meant that I wouldn't ever be able to confess.
"It-it was f-fine." He said, sitting on a rock. Sadness in his eyes. I could tell he wasn't happy.
"What's wrong Natsu?" I asked. Feeling worried.
"Nothing I'm fine." He said. A deep sigh escaping his throat.
"Natsu, I know something's wrong. I've known you since we were 7." He shifted back
"Luce, it's-, Luce I l-." He was cut off by a war cry.
"ILL SAVE YOU, LUCILE MY SWEET, FEAR NOT, I SHALL VANQUISH TAHT BEAST!" Screamed Dan. I felt my blood quicken.
"Natsu! Fly!" I hissed at him. He nodded and took off, leaving me behind with Dan. Ugh.
"Tsk. Nasty creatures. Now come my sweet! Let us return to the castle. Or we could s-." I stopped him in his tracks.
"No. Let's just go back. And if you touch me, you die, got it?" I growled. Summoning Loke And Taurus to escort me so Dan would be forced to leave me alone. After I arrived home, I was called in by my father.
"Lucile." He said.
"Yes father." I answered. My father, the king sat at his desk.
"Due to all the dragon attacks and the fact that Sir Dan Straight had informed me that you were almost killed by one today, I will be picking you out a new body guard."
"Yes father, but on one condition."
"What would that be my dear?"
"Please not Dan!" I cried. He let out a dry chuckle.
"Of course not." He started to whisper. "But between you and me, he's kinda creepy." I smiled. "Anyway, tournament starts later today."
"Thank you father." And I left. I decided to get some training in and I beat up some training dummies with Erza, my adoptive sister and Levy, my bookie bestie.
"So, new guard, eh?" Erza asked, tearing through a dummie.
"Yeah." I responded.
"Ooooh, I hope for you that it's someone hot, you're the only one single now." Said Levy. It was true. Erza was dating Jellal, my Cousin, som of the Duke of Magnolia and Levy was dating Sir Gajeel.
"Yeah. I guess." I didn't want anyone to protect me. No one but Natsu.
I finished practice and marched to my room. I refused to wear dresses so I decided to wear my assassin style clothes. They were dark, light, stretchy and comfortable as well as they provided good protection. I tied my hair up into a braid with the help of Virgo. I placed my tiara on my head and pulled on my combat boots.
I walked out to the stand when my father sat. He looked at me and sighed.
"Lucy, dear, could you wear a dress, just for once?" He pleaded.
"I'm going horseback riding later!" I lied.
"Fine. Let's just start." He announced the games and the competition and yada yada yada. I wasn't paying attention. My focus was locked on one of the men. He wore his helmet so I couldn't see his face but I saw a bit of pink poking out his helm. I watched, fixated as he completed all the tasks. I sighed and zoned out. I only began to pay attention when my father said ".............. has won! Meet me in my castle later today!" The winner nodded before disappearing into the crowd. I couldn't see that weird pink knight.
I sighed as my father and I were escorted back I went straight to my room before my dad called me into his office. I sighed as I trudged along. I guess I won't be seeing Natsu anymore. As I walked in, I noticed a figure behind my father.
"Lucile, this is your new bodyguard." The man who stood behind him turned around and smiled. I would recognise that grin anywhere. Maybe this wouldn't be that bad after a
