Chapter 14: New friends....?

"Mirror Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?"

"You, my queen are fair, it's true,

but the huntsman has deceived you,

Juvia has not died,

she has people by her side."

The queen frowned. Who would be a good enough person to help her?

"Who is the strongest hunter in all of Fiore?"

"In Magnolia there is a young man today,

who goes by the name, Gray."

Juvia shot up.

She looks around, noticing she was in a nice, cozy cottage.

She places a hand on her head.

It's healed.

"Oh, you're awake," A girl's voice said.

"It's 'bout time!" another said

Juvia looks around, and sees a young girl, no older than 14, hiding in the shadows. Next to her is man, with metal piercings all over his face.

The girl smiled at her. "My name is Wendy, and this is my cousin Gajeel.... I was the one that healed you."

Juvia blinked. "How did you heal me?"

"None of yer' business!" Gajeel said.

Wait.

Gajeel.

Where have I heard that name before?

"Don't be rude..." Wendy said.

"No it's ok..." Juvia said placing a hand on her head. "Do I know you?" She shot a questioning look at Gajeel.

Gajeel sighed. "Probably." he mumbled.

"Anyway," Wendy said cheerfully. "How did the princess of Fiore suddenly appear on our doorstep?"

Juvia's eyes widened. "Stepmother..... she tried to kill me..."

Juvia's breathing became heavier. Wendy tried to put her hand on her shoulder, but Juvia pushed it off.

"S-stay away! Who knows, maybe you two were sent by my mother as well!"

Wendy sighed. "How could we be? We're running from the law."

Juvia gasped. "W-wha..?"

Wendy held out her hand. It began to glow.

"This is how I healed you," she whispered. "With magic."

"W-wanted criminals? G-gajeel?"

Gajeel shook his head. "I've been taking care of Wendy this whole time. We steal food to survive. If someone sees Wendy with magic.... Well, we're dead meat."

Juvia was still hesitant to trust them. Her stepfather had told her their mother had died of magic. People with magic were crazy. They couldn't control it. They were evil.

Juvia shook her head. Wendy and Gajeel seemed like nice people...

"We're trying to get to Bosco... we think one of our cousins live there... we couldn't locate Sting and Rogue..." Wendy said sofltly.

Juvia mustered up all the courage she had and said, "I'll be staying with you. I'm trying to get away from my mother too."

Gajeel sneered. Wendy on the other hand, smiled, her eyes glistening with tears.

"R-really? You're not afraid of u-us?" She stammered.

Juvia gulped. "No! Why would I be?" She smiled.

"Under on condition," Gajeel said. "You have to cook the food. I can't stand Wendy's cooking."

Wendy playfully punched his shoulder.

"Deal!"

Jellal rode his horse into the forest. Alongside him was none other than the perverted weird Reiki. And he was annoying as hell.

"How do you know that Juvia's alive?"

"Where do you think she is?"

"Do you think the animals could tell us?"

Jellal sighed and shook his head. "You can shut up now."

Reiki pretended to look offended. "I'm just asking for general knowledge!"

Suddenly, a twig cracked. Jellal spun around, and got his bow ready.

"PUBERTY?! HOLY SHI-"

Jellal couldn't help but grin at the choice of words.

"Keep your guard up," Reiki reminded him, even though he had a faint smile himself.

"Oh, well damn. Did ya hear that Sugar? They wanna fight me."

Jellal squinted to see a white, translucent figure in front of him.

It was ghost.

Not just any ghost.

It was Rosemary.
