Lucy's POV

My alarm rings off as I hit the off button. I yawn as I get out of bed and stretch. I want over to my bathroom as I let the water run. I sit in it as I soak myself and then wash myself. I hum as I get out and drain the water and get into my uniform. Today is the first day of me working at Fairy Tail Zoo. I am excited yet nervous at the same time. I sigh as I leave my small apartment and lock the door. I walk to me car as I get in and drive to the zoo. I park in the staff area and head to the gate. I see a pink haired in the staff shirt at the gate.

"Hi! You must me Lucy! My name is Natsu. I'm going to give a you a tour of the zoo! Come on in," Natsu says as I follow him into the zoo.

I near tripped when I saw a blue cat on his head.

"Why do you have a cat on your head?"

"Hm?? Oh! This is Happy! He's my cat," Natsu tells me. "And this is the lion's pen! We have one hear right now. His name is Gajeel. He's not too friendly an dir will take some time. When Phantom Lord Zoo closed, we got him. His caretaker, Juvia, came along and joined to keep an eye on Gajeel, plus no one have been able to get near him," Natsu explains as I see a raven color lion walk out of the cave.

I squeal as I see his eyes are crimson.

"What type of lion is he?"

"We don't know. Juvia told us that most of the animals there were genetically changed. We know we can't change him to a regular color and he seams pretty happy with his looks."

"Ok. What happen to the other animals?"

"We don't know. They were going to kill him, but we intervened."

"That's sad."

"I know. Come on! Let's go and see the deers now. I think you are going to be their caretaker. The other caretaker quite."

"Ok," I say as we head towards the deer's pen.

I look in to see a dark one that seamed more like black than dark brown fur fighting with the other male that seams to have orange fur.

"Jet is the light brownish orangish buck. And Droy is the very dark brown buck."

"Ok," I say as I spot a tiny blue doe watching from a safe distance. "What's the doe's name?"

"That's Levy. She was an experiment that a scientist did, as he says, quote unquote gone wrong," Natsu says as he does the quotes sign when he says 'gone wrong'. "He way trying to make her fur pink for his wife. Messed up with the wrong genes and Levy is blue. We were able to get her away from him before he did any real damage. We found her with a broken bone and a gun pointed at her head. This also happen when she was a month old, so she doesn't remember it clearly. She still got the limb from the gun shot wound. It's not as bad and it's a good thing we didn't have to remove her leg."

"Oh wow. I will take good care of her!"

"And make sure the door is locked properly when you leave. Levy is smarter than she looks.  She have been able to escape 4 times already. We would find her in the morning at the gate. I think she was waiting for us to say hello," Natsu says as he chuckles.

"Ok. So why is she small? If she is a grown female..."

"We believe he also tampered with the genes that tell her how tall she is suppose to be."

"Ok...."

"Shall we continue?"

After the tour I meet with the staff. I smile and talk with them during breakfast. I eat my breakfast in peace, until a hear a noise from next to me. I squeal as I fall out of my chair.

Levy's POV

I mentally sigh as Jet and Droy fight over me...again....it's getting sooooo annoying! I look up to see a blonde hair girl talking to Natsu.

She must be new, I think as I watch them walk away. Maybe she will take care of me.

I decide to go and say hello to her. I walk over to the gate and look at it. They still haven't upgraded it from the last time that I broke out of the pen. I quickly type the number in as the light turns from red to green. I smile as I open the gate and close it behind me as it turns back to red. I walk out, good thing that the zoo haven't opened up yet. I walk around, staying hidden until I spot the girl I walk the girl as I kick a can by accident. She turns around and squeals as she falls backwards. I walk up to her and look at her with my hazel eyes.

"Um....hi," she says as she sits up. "I'm Lucy and I'm going to be your caretaker! Did you come to say hi Levy?"

I not my head as I look into her brown eyes with mine.

"That's good. I think you had enough walking around for today. Let's get you back with the others," Lucy says as I shake my head no. "Why? It is because they keep fighting over you?"

I nod my head yes as Lucy sigh.

"Ok. I guess you can walk around as long as you stay with me."

My eyes sparkled as I nuzzle my nose into her hand.

"You are welcomed. Now, do you know where the supplies are to take care of you and the other two?"

I nod my head as I start to walk towards the hut. I look back to see Lucy is following me. I keep walking until we get to the building where the last caretaker held everything for us. Lucy takes the key out and open it to see a list of things to get done and other things. I read the list and walk over to the computer. I turn it on and type is password in.

"Wait, what?! Levy, you can read and write?"
