Laxus x Reader - Enemies of the Guild

"You want all of the enchantments to force them into battle?" Freed asked hesitantly.

"Yes. Whoever makes it to the end can join me, or battle me." Laxus answered taking a sip from his mug.

"So you'll be like the boss round?" Bixslow laughed stoked about Laxus' 'master plan'.

"Laxus," you addressed him quietly, worry evident all over your face. "I have a bad feeling about this."

"You worry too much." Laxus replied to you without a second thought. "This is what is going to save the guild. It will be hard at first, but it will work out in the end."

"Ok. Let's do this then." you said, looking up to meet his gaze directly. "I trust you." A smile finally made it's way to his face.

~

"In other words, I'm taking all of these chicks hostage." Laxus smirked, placing his arm around Lucy's stone statue. "Break the rules and I'll shatter them, one by one."

"Hands to yourself if you still want a girlfriend at the end of this." you growl, walking up next to your boyfriend. He smirks seeing you glare at his arm. He removes it as yells break out.

"(Y/n), you're in on this too?!" Gray asked, shocked.

"The entire Thunder Legion is here!" Macao pointed out.

"I am not amused Laxus! Stop fooling around!" Mararov yelled at his grandson, before turning to yell at you. "(Y/n), you two quit it this instant! I mean it child!"

"Gramps, this has to be done. I trust Laxus." you said with a regretful look. Seeing Gramps this worried broke your heart, but you have full faith in your boyfriend and must support him no matter the risks.

"She's faithful old man. You should know this by now." Laxus put his arm around you and kissed your temple. He looked smug as ever while the rest of the Thunder Legion began to join around the two of you and add their support. Laxus began to explain the rules and Gramps had enough. He began to grow in size to tower over everyone. He transformed into his lightning and grabbed all of you, transporting away to Kardia Cathedral. "It's a Fairy Tail Battle Royale!" Laxus yelled out as doing so, leaving the entire guild stunned and frightened.

~

"Laxus, this feels wrong." you said, looking at the scoreboard.

"Were you lying when you said you trusted me?" he scoffed.

"No." you said looking to him assuringly. "Babe not at all. It's just.. why does this make me sad?" you asked, unsure yourself of your own feelings at the moment.

"I have told you a million times it shouldn't. If you and Freed want to leave, then go." he growled, aggravated at the two of you.

"There's no turning back at this point" Freed began quietly. "As you wish, I'll follow you, no matter where that road will take me." With that, he left to join the battles at his designated spot amongst the enchantments.

"And you?" Laxus asked turning to you. You walked up to him, placing a hand on the side of his face.

"If this is what will truly make you happy, then I won't question it any more." you say, barely above a whisper.

"It is." your boyfriend replies, matching your tone.

"So be it." you look away, before looking back up to him with a grin. "Give me a kiss and I'll go take out Erza for you." A devilish smirk appeared on his handsome face while he placed one hand on your side, the other on top of your hand that was holding his face. He leaned down and gave you a slow, yet passionate kiss. "Be careful Laxus."

"No need to worry about me." he said letting go of you. "I'll come find you when this is all over."

~

"What in the hell?! He wasn't supposed to really activate the Thunder Palace! And where in the hell is Erza?!" you curse out loud, running back towards your boyfriends battle area. "Damnit Laxus!" Upon entering the cathedral you notice a battle occurring between your boyfriend and Natsu. The battle pauses and the pair look at you.

"Babe, care to explain why I just fought Erza?" Laxus growled.

"(Y/n), you were seriously going to fight Erza?" Natsu asked shocked. His expression didnt last long before it changed to anger. "SHE IS YOUR FRIEND!"

"She never came to my enchantment zone Laxus. I'm sorry! And I know that Natsu!" you snapped back. "She may be a friend but right now she is holding Fairy Tail back!"

"That is not true (Y/n) and you know it! Fairy Tail is not about power. It is about growing together as a FAMILY!" the pink haired slayer screamed at you. You looked away in distress for a moment, realizing he is right. However, you love Laxus more than anything. You can't betray him now. He's giving you everything you could've asked for in a relationship and he deserves you to do the same.

"Natsu. We can be a family once we're stronger. I STAND BY LAXUS AND HIS DECISION.. MY DECISION." you screamed back, throwing an attack towards him. He dodged and gaped at you, while conjuring up his own power. "Laxus, tell me what I can still do to help!"

He smirked at Natsu, "Don't look so shocked brat. You'll understand love like hers one day." he spoke to him before turning to you. "Stop Erza." he instructed you and you left to do just that.

~

"NO! STOP!" you screamed at Erza, running out of magic power, but she still had swords pointed towards Laxus' creations.

"I will not let you two hurt these innocent townspeople!" Erza growled at you as she summoned another sword.

"Erza LISTEN TO ME!" you pleaded, trying your best to shatter another sword of hers. "You will DIE! No one can take that many body links at one time!"

"I would rather die than the hundreds of innocent people your boyfriend so selfishly brought into this mess!" she said as she summoned two more swords.

"Erza is right!" you heard Gray through Warren's telepathy. "We won't stop until you idiots have been brought down!"

"Gray this isn't about that anymore! Some of you may die trying to take this down on your own. Someone just send Gramps to Laxus and HURRY! He'll deactivate it as soon as Gramps shows!" you pleaded, busting out another sword of hers with the last of your magic energy.

"(Y/n), Gramps is ill. Very ill. He's not even aware of the Thunder Palace right now. This may be the last of him and you have yourselves to thank for that!" Gray replied back.

"What?" you whispered. "No, you're just saying that. Stop fooling around, we don't have time for it!"

"We're not fooling around! Open your selfish eyes for once! Gramps may die." He snapped back, and you noticed more of Laxus' creations being threatened with your guild mates defenses.

"(Y/N)! You need to get Laxus!" Levy chimed in, sounding out of breath. "This may the last time he'll get to see his grandfather alive!"

"Damnit old man!" you dropped your offensive stance and ran for Kardia Cathedral, faster than you ever have. You saw Levy running inside as you approached. Quickly following her in, you saw Laxus ready to attack her as she told him about his grandfather.

"Hurry! Before it's too late!" you heard her beg of him. He was so into what he set out to do that he didn't notice you step inside just then. "PLEASE LAXUS!" she screamed.

"This is working out perfectly for me! Now that the old man is on death's door I have an even better chance of becoming Fair Tail's new master!" he said almost hopeful, as if this was a gift to him. "This will be the dawn of a new era for Fairy Tail! FAIRY LAW!" he cast out without hesitation.

"LAXUS DREYER DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE!" you screamed out running past Levy, but it was too late, the words left his lips and the magic power surged from his body. The next few seconds felt like minutes while you waited to see the outcome.

"That can't be! So much magic energy was released with that spell!" Laxus yelled out in shock and frustration.

"Oh thank Mavis." you whispered, tears in your eyes. Laxus looked to you, but you noticed his gaze immediately traveled to behind you.

"Freed." Laxus called out. Freed has entered right behind you, clothes tattered, looking as if he battled with everything he had in him. Freed explained to him why his spell failed and tried to reason with the big heart hidden under his outer layer of fury, but Laxus was not ready to throw in the towel.

"This has gone on long enough Laxus!" Freed spit out, growing more defiant and enter into the cathedral further. "You need to go see your grandfather before he's gone!"

"LET THE OLD MAN DIE FOR ALL I CARE! HE'S NOTHING TO ME! HE MAY BE FAMILY BUT I'M STRONGER!" Laxus bellowed out, building up his magic energy once again.

"Freed back up!" you yelled to him, stepping forward. "LAXUS! ENOUGH! PLEASE! This wasn't the plan and you know it! Please, give it a rest before something happens that you'll always regret!"

"I TOLD YOU ALREADY, STAND BY ME LIKE YOU PROMISED OR GET OUT OF MY WAY!" he screamed at you and you could feel the heat from his lightning building all over the room.

"I'M BEGGING YOU LAXUS! YOU'RE GOING TO KILL SOMEONE!" you screamed as Freed pulled you back and you broke into tears. That was the end of your pleas, as Laxus and Natsu began to really go at it. Freed sat with you against a pillar, watching as your boyfriend passed the line of no return in this master plan of his.

"That spell." you heard Freed whisper. "DON'T DO IT! THAT MUCH MAGIC ENERGY COULD KILL HIM!"

"NATSU LOOK OUT!" Levy and you yelled at the same time.

"LIGHTNING DRAGON'S HEAVENWARD HALBERD!" Laxus cast out with all his power and Natsu seemed to be taking it head on. Out of nowhere the lightning changed direction and headed straight for Gajeel's Iron Fist. He used it as a lightning rod and gave Natsu the chance he desperately needed at defeating your boyfriend in his current maniacal state of mind. The rest of the battle happened fast. Natsu activated his dragon force, something you had never witnessed from the younger dragon slayer, and defeated Laxus.

~

"QUIET!" Erza screamed out as you and your boyfriend entered the guild to finally see the master. "He has every right to see his grandfather." No one dared argue with her in this tense moment, so you two decided not to either. Making your way past her, you entered the infirmary, and addressed the man that basically raised you. "Gramps.." you whispered causing his eyes to open, but he remained quiet, looking at the ceiling. There was an awkward silence amongst the room for a few moments. Laxus was the first to break it.

"They're a rowdy bunch aren't they" he chuckled slightly under his breath, as we heard the rest of the guild carrying on as they usually do in the main hall. A low growl followed by a sigh was heard from Gramps as he got out of bed and looked at the two of you.

"I don't think either of you understand the seriousness of what you have done. LOOK ME IN THE EYES." you both do as your told, slowly looking up from the floor you were so intently focusing on before. "Fairy Tail is a place friends can gather, wizards can find work, children with no kin of their own can feel like they have a family. It's not something that can be owned. It's important that each member not only be loyal, but also trustworthy, otherwise no bonds will be formed and it will all fall apart. Your actions prove that you lack both of those qualities. It's unforgivable, threatening the lives of your comrades."

"I'm sorry sir. Honestly, I never meant to hurt the guild, I just wanted to help it." Laxus speaks up first. He walks forward towards his grandfather, and you begin to reach out for him, but pull back almost instantly realizing he needs to do this.

"I swear, you're just as high strung as I am young man. You better learn to relax. Take some time to smell the roses. You'll be able to see things you couldn't see before, hear things you couldn't hear. Life can be a lot of fun when you allow it to be." Master Makarov now has his head to the floor as you two did, the anger radiating him leaving, and sadness taking over. "Over the years I have watched you grow, both of you. I often wonder what we did wrong - what lesson did you not learn - but the past is the past. I am left now with only one choice."

You both know where this going and you can already feel your heart shattering. Laxus is fighting back tears and looks as if he's going to be sick.

"Laxus.. you are hereby expelled from Fairy Tail." he says, still looking to the ground, holding an arm out.

"I understand." Laxus mumbles turning away, but you block his path.

"Master, please! Don't do this! He's family. It was a mistake! It was never supposed to go as far as it did. The plan was created with only good intentions in mind! I SWEAR IT!" you plead with every bit of fight you have in you.

"(Y/n).. child, your punishment is the opposite. Should you still wish to call Fairy Tail your home and family, then you are not to leave this guild without my permission. Once you are allowed to resume job request, they will be short and local. Laxus and you both need time away from each other. Find yourselves. Maybe then you'll be able to really save each other."

"NO! Please don't do this! How can we help each other if we're apart?!" tears now stream down your face freely. Laxus pulls you into him gently, but you still peak around pleading with the master.

"Laxus, will learn the value of comrades and how much he truly would miss having them a part of his life. (Y/n), you will learn how much you love this family, not just Laxus, and how healthy it is to have a life of your own as well. You can't see it at the moment, but staying away from each other is going to help each other more than you know."

"He's right. I don't like this any better than you do. I don't want to bring you down with me. You deserve better than that - better than me. I constantly ruin things for myself and everyone around me, including you. You think you're happy with me, but how can you be when I'm not even happy with myself?"

"Lax, no. Don't say that. I've never been happier than I am when I'm with you. This is what is going to bring me down!" you bring your hands up to your face, knowing you can't hold it together for much longer.

"I'm sorry, I failed us." he says, closing his eyes. "Take care of yourself old man. You help him, (Y/n)."

"Laxus, pack what you need. Then you two can say your goodbyes. Thunder Legion too. They'll be staying as well." Master now turns around, and you can hear him struggling to choke down his sobs. Laxus leaves, and you do too.

When you two enter the guild hall the whole place goes silent. Anger is building up inside you, although you're not sure exactly who to direct it at. Laxus can sense this and he looks at you briefly over his shoulder. "(Y/n), don't. Leave it be. I'm serious." is all he says and he walks out the guild hall towards his dorm.

"(Y/N)! Don't you dare walk out that door young lady. I meant what I said." you stopped dead in your tracks and turned to see Gramps with his arms closed looking at you a few feet away from the door.

"I- I..." is all you could get out, and you turned back towards the doors. Although you looked at the doors and wanted nothing more than to run through them, you remained glued to your spot, taking heed of the master's warning. Any deliberation happening in your mind soon came to an end, as Freed walked in the doors, and a purple scripture appeared across them.

"Freed, what is this?!" Gramps yelled, walking forward a little more.

"Don't worry Master, (Y/n) won't be going anywhere." he said with a sad smile, turning to look towards you. "Laxus has forbid it. He asked me to see it to set my toughest enchantments up as a precaution. You also won't be able to cast any sort of ill will towards anyone, so please don't make this harder on yourself than it already is." Everyone now had a slight look of panic on their face so he eased their worries, "Don't worry. These scriptures are specific to (Y/n). Everyone else may come and go without any trouble."

'Hmph' was heard from the master, as he turned back towards the infirmary. You on the other hand ran off to the library, hoping to be alone for the breakdown you were sure to have any moment now..
