You made it to breakfast late the next morning, which made you miss your chance to see Rogue. Minerva told you he went out on a job with Frosch. Internally freaking out, you made your way to Sting's office.

You busted through the door as soon as you reached his office, "Sting! Rogue went out on a job alone!" Sting jumped scared a little from your outburst. He stood up quiet for a moment before walking over to you.

"OK, so what's the issue?" he asked, blank expression all over his face.

"I have a bad feeling about it. Plus, he never goes alone." you informed Sting.

"Yeah but that's because he always goes with me or you. I couldn't go and you two are, idk whatever you are." Sting said, clearly uncomfortable talking about the current state of the relationship between you and his best friend. "Why do you have a bad feeling about it? I'm sure he's fine."

"He came to my room last night an-" you started but Sting interrupted abruptly.

"I DONT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THAT!" He yelled childishly, covering his ears.

"NOT FOR THAT YOU PERVE!" You yelled, crossing your arms.

"Oh. Go on then." he urged.

"I had a nightmare and when I woke up Rogue used his shadows to check on me. We had a talk about whats going on with us and he said he cant be with me anymore." you started, but you felt tears coming to your eyes and had to take a break in order to not cry.

"So he broke up with you? He probably just wanted to not be here today then. You know, give you some space." Sting said, avoiding eye contact with you at all cost. "Are you ok?"

"NO! But I don't have a choice. He's being ridiculous." you confessed. "Sting, he thinks he's going to turn into Future Rogue. That's why he wants me out of his life. He thinks he's a danger to me."

Sting laughed for a minute and sat at his desk.

"WHY IS THIS FUNNY?!" you yell, aggravated at your friend's offensive behavior.

"Because. He tried this shit with me too!" Sting began laughing even more now that he was speaking his thoughts. "He tried to break up with me too!"

"What?" you ask, blinking blankly at Sting, who was now clutching his side in pain from laughing.

"He avoided me for about a day and a half about 2 weeks ago. I cornered him and he told me he needed to be on his own, that he was no good for any of us, and that his future was too dangerous." Sting was now wiping tears from his eyes, he laughed that hard at this situation unfolding in front of him. "I gave him a speech about how the light in his life is going to guide him into a new future and that the old future was destroyed with the events that unfolded anyways. Then I stayed up his ass for a few days until he realized I would never leave him alone, no matter how hard he tried."

You sat down on Sting's couch staring at the ground, trying to understand what you did differently in this situation.

"So I just need to pester him and he'll stop this black hole of a life he's trying to create for himself?"

"That's what I did. Seemed to work for me." he said, confident in his tactic. An idea suddenly came to you.

"I'm going to go find him on his job! Can't get more in your space then that!" You said standing up, walking to Sting's desk to see which job poster was claimed by your maybe-maybe not-boyfriend.

"Whoaaaa there. You can't go on this type of job alone." Sting said grabbing the poster up before you could.

"What?! YOU LET HIM!" you yelled.

"Yeah, but that's because it's Rogue and he's a dragon slayer." he says ,looking at you amused.

"I'M NOT WEAK STING!" you defend.

"But you're not Rogue either (Y/n)." Lector threw in his opinion.

"SHUT IT LECTOR!" you yelled shooting him a death glare.

"I know you aren't. This job is a better fit for dragon slayers though. Besides, if I let you take these kind of jobs alone I would have to endure the wrath of Rogue's shadow. No thank you." he said started a mischievous grin the more aggravated you became at his responses. "It's you lucky day though.. I finished my work early so I'm going to escort you." You huff at his offer.

"Don't you dare act like you're babysitting me Sting." you say, clenching your fist.

"I'm not. I'm girlfriend sitting the love of my best friend's life." he says, flexing his muscles as if he's your savior. "Now do you want to argue or do you want to go get your boyfriend back?" he raised a brow at you.

"FINE. Let's do this!" you grab his arm and pull him out of his seat and out of the office, Lector flying frantically behind you trying to catch up.

"WHERE ARE YOU TWO RUNNING OFF TO?!" Minerva yelled, watching with Yukino and Rufus as you two ran through the guild. 

"TO GET OUR BOYFRIEND BACK!" Sting yelled, still amused at Rogue trying to 'break up with' both of us.
