Laxus Decides the Roles
The Fairy Tail wizards on Olympus had all gathered in the counsel hall, with Laxus sitting in Zeus's chair. Gajeel sat in Hades's chair on the men's side of the room, next to Natsu in Ares's chair, and Happy in Hermes's chair. On the girl's side of the room, Mirajane sat in Hera's chair beside Laxus, and Lucy sat in Aphrodite's chair next to Levy, who sat in Persephone's chair. The others just milled about in the center of the room until Laxus stood up.
"Well, all the gods are officially gone, though most of them went willingly," Laxus started, "So we've taken over Olympus. But we have a few people who haven't taken over anybody yet, so I'm just gonna decide who does what."
"Then what will we do after that?" Erza asked.
"That's the fun part." Laxus grinned, "We get to mess with mortals. Anyway, Gray, you'll take over Poseidon."
"Why? I use Ice magic, genius." Gray frowned, "Juvia uses water magic, not me."
"Yeah, well she can be Amphitrite." Levy suggested, "That's the queen of the oceans and stuff. And Gray, you kinda have to be Poseidon, because you're the closest guy to ice magic."
"Why are you Persephone?" Lucy frowned, "You should be Athena or something."
"Whatever," Laxus shrugged, "Gray, if you don't agree to be Poseidon, I'm gonna get Lyon up here, and he can be the god of the seas instead."
"No! This is great," Gray said quickly, "Perfect! So, uh, I'll just sit down then..." he sat down in the chair beside Laxus.
"Who wants to be Athena?" Laxus asked, glancing around, "And it's gotta be a girl. Erza, Aries, or Cana. Or Evergreen."
"I would not mind being Athena," Erza spoke up, stepping forward, and Laxus shrugged, so she walked over to Athena's empty chair and sat down.
"Can I be the wine god?" Cana asked, leaning on a barrel of alcohol with a half-grin, "Obviously I'm the best choice."
"No girls as gods, remember?" Gray reminded him, "You said it yourself."
"Well, who else is going to take Dionysus's place?" Laxus said, looking bored, "Sure, Cana. And we need an Artemis and an Apollo. Hey, Loke, wanna be Apollo? Since you've got your whole Light of the Lion thing, it's only fair."
"Sure," Loke shrugged, "I'll be Apollo if Aries could be Artemis."
"Whatever," Laxus waved his hand, "Evergreen, you be Demeter, 'kay?"
"Um, okay, but I wanted to be Aphrodite." she frowned, and all eyes turned to Lucy, who was sitting in Aphrodite's chair.
"What?" Lucy said with a frown, "I should be Aphrodite anyway. Besides, I already am."
"The girls can fight it out," Laxus waved it off, "The winner is Aphrodite's replacement. Jellal, I haven't got anything special for you, so you'll be Hephaestus's replacement. I think that's everyone, right?"
"What about me being Aphrodite?" Evergreen complained, "Can I just take care of Lucy? If I don't accidentally kill her, she can be Demeter."
"Don't demote me!" Lucy cried.
"Well..." Jellal sat down in his chair, "Now what do we do?"
Thus, an unsatisfying end to this book. Not much left to do, but it's safe to say the gods will soon come back to reclaim a throne! But, unfortunately, that is a tale for another time.
