Chapter 10: it turned out wrong part 2
Natsu's P.O.V.
Lucy was still trying to escape from my grip as I jumped away from the attack. I know she wasn't strong enough to even stand let alone fight. I smelled her magic decreased in large amount. It was still decreasing even now but she still tried again and again.
"Luce please don't try. You will lose all of your energy." I said and dogged another attack. I was afraid to attack back because I would risk hurting Lucy too.
"Natsu... Lemme go... You will get hurt because of me... This is my nightmare.... It is attacking because of me..." She whispered. What did she mean 'this is her nightmare?
"What do you mean?" I asked confused.
"My...childhood... monster... I created... It...I can't... I am so sorry... Natsu.." She said and fainted.
So she created this thing. I heard of this magic before, Levy mentioned it a few times-enough for even me to remember. It can make things from your worst nightmares come true, but she also said only the strongest wizards can do that. And that only those whose nightmare it is can defeat it. But Lucy is in no state to do such a thing.
Great.
I was so absorbed in my thoughts I didn't smell scent of another living being besides us. I turned around but there was no one there. I turned around again to see a claw just a foot away from me. Crap. There was no time to dodge. That's when I heard a female voice behind me.
"Rose shadow." It was said quietly, like a whisper, but the voice still rang in the air. Black rose petals flew in front of me and went around the monsters hand, cutting it in half. The monster roared in pain as it fell to the ground and turned into ashes.
I turned around and faced a girl of middle height. Red hair fell on her shoulders and long black dress was covering her knees.
"Never look away in the middle of battle, dragon slayer." Her scent matched the one I sensed before.
"Well if you didn't show up, I wouldn't !" I accused her childishly.
"If I didn't show up , your friend and you would have been dead."
"Who are you?" I asked, ignoring her previous comment.
"Cassandra Bennett, one of the devil sisters. "She said smiling. Her gray eyes held some darkness inside of them I couldn't place. I only know I didn't like it one bit.
"One of the what? And how did you defeat that monster ? I thought only the one whose nightmare it is can defeat it." I said ,trapped between complete confusion and anger towards the one controlling this.
"Devil sisters. I am not surprised you haven't heard of me. Makarov and I aren't in the best terms. And you are not as stupid as they say, salamander."
"Oi!" I shouted and she laughed.
"Devil....sisters...." Lucy whispered. Her eyes slowly opened and she turned her head to look at Cassandra. Small smile twitched on her lips.
"Lucy Heartfilia. What a surprise." Cassandra said still smiling. "I never thought I would see you again. Not after...the accident." She said her head bowing down. She kinda reminded me of female version of Jellal, with pain and guilt in her voice. But she also had this stability to her, something ypu couldn't miss even if you tried.
"How....do...we..get ...out..?" Lucy asked, apparently trying to change the subject. Whatever 'the accident' was, I definitely wouldn't find out any time soon.
"I am not sure. I do know we have to follow the road. We are in misspelled jungle, that's the name of this place. Whoever did this, it is on him or her if we're going to die or not. Well, I can try making a portal but I don't know if it safe to do here. We will just have to go on for now." Cassandra said and we started walking again as Lucy's head rested on my shoulder. I didn't like the paleness of her skin, but as I couldn't do anything about it I just pulled her closer and acceleratedy steps.

Erza's P.O.V
"Watch it Jellal!" I shouted and caught his hand in the last moment. He steaded himself and I let go of him, as if my hand is on fire.
We were standing on a narrow road and as far as my sight could reach there was just dark on both our sides. Wind was blowing and I had a hard time standing on my feet. Jellal hesitantly pulled me closer to steady me in return, and I put my hands on his forearms, looking around us,hoping to see something.
Nope. Still just dark-can't-see-bottom-deep abyss as far as you can see.
"Where are we?" He asked as his hands rested on my waist. I was trying to stay concentrated but it was harder than usual; it must be the wind howling in my ears.
"Are you okay?" He put his hand on my forehead, the concern in his eyes surprising me. His hand was really cold and I leaned into it,savouring the numbness it brought.
Before I noticed my breath quickened and I was losing control over my limbs, and my grip on Jellal's shoulders loosened. But it was good. Maybe this headache would finally stop. I tried to fight it,but I found it harder than beating all those monsters in the past;soon the dark swallowed me against my will.
"Erza!" I heard Jellal say as hir hair flew in the wind, unable to resist as much as me the sleepiness.
Nothing.
Jellal's P.O.V
Her temperature was rising and small drops of sweat covered her red face. It was hurtful just to look at her at this state, but how do I help her? She wasn't standing on her own anymore due to her knees giving up, so I pulled us both to the ground, hoping the closeness would aid us.
"Erza! " I shouted, frustrated that I couldn't do anything to help.
"Need help?" A sweet voice said. I looked to my right to see a small blonde haired girl. Her eyes were bright blue and she had a knee length dress on, one of those that looked like a bunch of white tulip petals tied together.
"Who are you ?" I asked, watching her suspiciously. There was no way I could chase her off, not now.
"It doesn't matter now. I need to help your friend or she will die." She said ,her short blonde hair swaying on the wind.
Always those dramatic lines. I didn't trust this one ,naturally, though I could not sense dark magic in or around her.
Erza was getting weaker with each second that passed and as unfortunate as it was, the girl was my only choice.
She came closer and the wind stopped . I didn't take the time to think about this as I laid Erza on the narrow path. Small red dots covered her face and matched her scarlet hair. It was weird seeing her like this, weak and so different from the strong girl that she is. Kind of like Meredy without her jokes;it just wasn't right.
The girl took out some kind of potion and put it on dots, covering them. Nothing seemed to be happening, but Erza's breathing got steadier and the magic in her that was weak a moment ago came back to life.
"Done. Pick her up and follow me if you wish to live. Or." She added after a second, like she saw something I couldn't. "If you want her to live."
Without any other choice, I did what she told me. I figured out she was holding up some kind of barrier to protect herself from the wind when in one moment my pace didn't match hers and the wind almost blew me off my feet.
"May I know your name now?"
"Sarah Bennet, one of the Devil Sisters."
"Stupid question. Why are we here?"
She looked at the sky, frowning. "Someone messed with the portal your friend tried to create and sent you to a different dimension altogether. " she turned her eyes to me. "You speak too loudly. I couldn't help but overhear."
"Of course. Any way out?"
She seemed to ponder for a moment. "Since I believe you are all trapped in the same dimension, we can try and get together, then we should be able to unite our magic and get back to our hotel."
"Just wonderful. "
We walked in silence and just when I thought I should ask something to break the monotony of the road, a stone wall appeared in sight and the road widened to take the width of the wall.
I put Erza down and let her rest against the soft stone as I tried to decipher a single word written on it in what I guessed was charcoal.
"There's no road any further. Just the abyss." Sarah called out, standing beside me to stare at the encryption.
"Let me guess:no idea what this means?"
Her answer was interrupted with Erza's quick wince as she stood up, supporting her weight on the stone. I hurried to help her, but she motioned with her hand to stand back and my steps haltered.
"That son of a-" she almost fell back down, but balanced berself at the last moment. Her eyes were blazing with what could only be described as rage.
"Ok...you reallyyyy shouldn't be able to stand." Sarah concluded, staring at Erza like she wasn't sure what she was looking at.
"We can't decipher the sign. " I ignored Sarah as she walked in circles mumbling to herself. "It might be able to help. Any idea?"
"It doesn't help."
"Well what does it say?"
"Run."
