Outside the ruined Cube...

"I didn't think someone was able to summon the Spirit King." Mard Geer admitted as he stood before the Celestial King. Debris of the destroyed guild fell around him but he didn't seem to care that much. All he had eyes for was the Celestial Spirit King himself. The giant humanoid spirit appeared clad in a full set of plate armor at all times: the upper part of his torso is covered in a breastplate, which is linked to the massive, overlapped and pointed pauldrons, while his arms are protected by couters, each sporting a spiked protrusion, and by gauntlets reaching up to his upper forearms. Compared to him, the demon almost felt under-dressed.

"You're still carrying that book." The Celestial King mused as he stared at the demon before him; his light, over-sized mustache twitched with apprehension. "It's been a long time."

"This is END's soul." Mard Geer replied, tightening his grip on the book in his arms. "Tartaros itself."

"What are you scheming? King of Hades." The spirit king asked, his blank, pupil-less eyes staring straight at his tiny but fierce opponent before him.

"Haven't you realized by now?" Mard Geer said with an arrogant smirk on his face. "We're going to resuscitate END and return to Zeref's place."

"Is it for that reason that my old friend is lying wounded on the ground?"

"Yes." Mard Geer said with no hesitation in his voice, almost taunting the spirit.

"Is it for that reason that my old friend is shedding tears?" The King glanced quickly to where Lucy was still crying over Aquaris' key, holding whatever was left of it in her hand.

"Why don't we end our fight, Spirit King?" The demon offered.

"Thanks to the contract with my old friends and her resolve..." In one fluid motion, the Celestial King unsheathed his sword and gripped it tightly in his hand. "...I will annihilate her enemy."

"Come." was all Mard Geer said before the spirit lunged forward, determined to stop the demon's plans from coming to fruition. Swinging his sword down, the Celestial Spirit King crushed the platform that the King of Hades was standing upon. Jumping into the air, the demon countered by conjuring a dark sphere with his hand.

"That's not going to work on me!" The spirit king proclaimed, blocking the attack effortlessly with his sword. Deciding on a different approach, Mard Geer somersaulted backwards and quickly used his hand to make several magical gestures.

"Curse of Thorns!"

"Ugh!" The Spirit King growled as multiple thorns burst through the ground and passed through his body to snare him in place.

"The Curse of the endlessly growing thorns will destroy you." Mard Geer gloated before going back on his words when-with one swing-the King removed the barbs. "...unscathed..."

"Meteor Blade!" Celestial Spirit King roared as he placed both hands on the hilt of his sword, executing a vertical frontal slash. A huge, blue linear blast surged up towards the sky, ripping up the land which left astounding damage in its wake.

"Nice." Mard stated as he stared at the deep gouge beside him. By simply stepping to the side, he dodged the attack without a scratch on him. "But you won't defeat me with that alone."

Meanwhile, inside the ruined Cube...

"Shit! What the fuck did you do!?" Jackal approached Lucy as the blonde continued to cry over Aquarius' broken key. First was the ruin of the guild and now he, Jackal, had no idea what was happening anymore. Damning Lucy and taking all his rage out on her, the Demon used his Curse to blow her up, though, before the attack can hit, a water sphere surrounded her body in protection. Any kind of explosions that appeared afterwards were rendered useless.

"A water...barrier...Aquarius!?" Surprised, Lucy looked around for the water spirit, hoping that she came back to protect her. "Aquarius!? Where are you? Aquarius!"

'I changed Aquarius' magic into power for my old friend.' A voice spoke through her mind, a voice that was all too familiar.

"The Spirit King!?" Lucy gasped before looking down at herself, watching the water barrier disappear into her body. "My magic power is surging up..."

'Stand up, old friend.' Healed and spurred on by the Spirit, Lucy confidently rises, her ruined outfit changed into a green bikini top that sports a zigzag design and a green miniskirt. Her hair was tied up into two ponytails and located on her collarbone was Aquarius' zodiac sign. 'May the stars guide you.'

"Thank you!" She thanked him with all her might. 'Aquarius...' an image of the crying but smiling water bearer immediately popped into her mind,'Thank you for everything...'

"Shiiiiiiiiiiiit!" Jackal yelled in confusion, thrusting his hands out to bombard her with explosions. "Die! Die! Die! I'll blow you up!"

'I could cry at any time. Now I must save my friends...I must fight!' Lucy thought as she protected herself with a water sphere. Once the explosions died down, she removed the barrier and held both arms out, palms facing upwards. "Stars, high in the heavens, show yourself to me with your brilliance."

"What is she doing?" Jackal wondered as the light got brighter and brighter.

"Tetrabiblos, I'm the ruler of the stars. The aspect is perfect, open your raging gate." Lucy continued to chant; the space around her beginning to glow as she does so, forming 88 small orbs that represented the constellations to hover in front of her. "88 stars of the heavens." She opened her eyes to stare directly at Jackal, throwing her arms in his direction. "Shine. Urano Metria!"

The energy gathered into a tremendous attack as every single orb rushed at the summoner's will, sending Jackal flying. Upon her victory, Lucy collapsed out of exhaustion and the water vanished moments later as Aquarius' powers left her.

Back outside...

"What's wrong, Celestial Spirit King?" Mard Geer taunted as he dodged an attack with a smirk. The two kings had been fighting it out for awhile, neither one seemed to have the upper hand but it was painfully obvious that a winner would be decided soon. "Your movements have suddenly become rather sluggish."

'Old friends, I humbly request that you lend me all the power you have...' The King thought with a growl.

"It looks like this is the end of the road for you!"

"Not if I destroy you first!" The spirit blocked Mard Geer's barrage of attacks with his sword before holding his weapon straight up into the air. "Let the 88 constellations of the heavens shine now! Infinite starlight!" Knowing he has little time left, the Celestial Spirit King calls upon the 88 stars and his sword began to glow immensely.

"What is this?" Mard Geer watched as the entire cube was surrounded by the brilliant light. "A full frontal attack!?"

"Galaxia Blaaaaaaaaaaade!" The spirit king released a huge pillar of light that covered the entire Cube, causing Mard Geer to raise his arms in haste. The blinding light pulsated a few times before dying down.

"So you're willing to let the summoner that's close by become collateral damage?" Mard Geer teased when he removed his arms, but realized that the spirit was smirking. The demon's eyes widened with horror. "It can't be..."

"You were a fool to think I'd actually go at you with a frontal attack."

"So you managed to dispel Alegria!?" Mard Geer looked at the Celestial Spirit King in shock, feeling a lot of magic energies suddenly emerge out of nowhere. "That's impossible!"

"The radiance of the stars is a pure offering which erodes away at the darkness." The king replied with a smile on his face. "So I'll leave it to my old friends to take care of your demise."

"Damn you...Celestial Spirit King!" Mard Geer yelled when the King disappeared once his deed was done. Lifting his arm, he noticed that his body was beginning to petrify. The King of Hades smiled before releasing a chuckle. "Do you actually think you can stop Mard Geer!? This malice...for all humankind...don't you...ever...forget it..."

Elsewhere...

"What on earth is this light..." Minerva wondered before movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. "Erza!?"

"Minerva!" The scarlet-haired warrior roared as she lunged at the demon. Thanks to the light, the Fairy Tail mage managed to claw her way out and felt her energy and spirit rejuvenated.

"Now that's more like it!" Minerva exclaimed, feeling her blood boil as she rushed to meet her opponent. "Come and show me exactly what you're made of, my beloved...Erza!"

---------------------

All around, the Fairy Tail mages that were previously trapped within the red projectiles were now back into action. Most of them didn't remember what had happened but they knew that the battle wasn't over. Getting their courage and fighting spirit back, they launched a counter strike against the remaining soldiers.

"What just happened..." Torafuzar managed to backtrack his way back to the location of the battle and saw Lucy and Jackal both unconscious while Lamy was nowhere to be found. "Does this mean that even Jackal and Lamy were defeated by this little brat...!?" He clench his teeth tightly in fury as he stared at Lucy. "What the hell kind of magic did she use...?"

"Uugh..." Lucy mumbled lightly. "Everyone...I've got to..."

"This is exactly why I told them to kill her immediately!" The Demon commented irritably, moving in to slice the girl's exposed neck since she lay before him helpless and defenseless...or so he thought.

"Who do you think you are? Punk!" A flying elbow, courtesy of a pissed off Gajeel, slammed into the demon's face and drove him back a couple feet.

"Gajeel..." Lucy spoke when she noticed the Iron Dragon slayer standing between her and Torafuzar, his red eyes glaring intently at the demon.

"Impossible!" Torafuzar exclaimed, skidding to a halt. "The only human left alive should have been that little girl!"

"And?" Gajeel replied, not noticing another demon warping to his left and coming straight at him.

"Water Nebula!" Juvia shouted, jumping in front of Gajeel and defending him against the sneak attack. The sudden appearance of water freaked Ki-su out and the demon backtracked a bit, glancing wearily at both mages.

"How about I put you on ice?" Silver's voice rang out as the ice demon unleashed an attack directed straight at the water mage.

"Not a chance!" Gray roared as he appeared in front of Juvia, counter attacking the ice attack with his own. The two attacks collided with one another and formed a massive column of ice in the middle of the room before shattering into little tiny pieces.

"Silver's ice was canceled out?!" Ki-su asked in shock while Silver himself just smirked at the look of disbelief on the ice mage's face. However the reunion didn't last long as Tempester fell through a hole in the ceiling and prepared to blow the mages away with his mouth wide open.

"Flame!?" Gajeel noticed the flurry of fire and blast of golden light racing towards them but before the attacks could make a direct hit, they disappeared just as quickly.

Tempester arched an eyebrow, but bellowed in pain an instant later from explosions solar light, which caught him from both sides. The blast was enough to repel him and the other demons back, giving them a fairly large field to battle upon.

Sora and Natsu took the lead for their group. The Fairy Tail mages glared fiercely at the enemy demons, who looked back unfazed by the higher numbers. Sora even had his blade strapped to his back now.

"Phew." Sora exclaimed after Nastu had eaten his fill of the flames, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "I don't really know what's going on, but somehow I get the feeling...that you really saved our asses, Luce. You definitely are my badass girlfriend."

"Humph." Lucy grinned, relieved that her friends were going to be all right.

"Well now...lookie here?" Natsu glared at the enemies in front of him, his mouth twisting into a ferocious grin. "Some pretty strong looking dudes all lined up for us...now that's what I call hospitality..." He smashed his fists together with excitement as flames coated both arms. "'cause now, I'm getting all fired up!"
