The next morning...
"It's amazing to have a huge bath just for our guild!" Lisanna smiled as she scrubbed the soap bubbles from her arms. Mira smiled in agreement as she sat beside her sister washing her own hair.
"Hmmmm this feels so good!" Lucy mused as she stretched her arms high in the air, sinking below the water as it gently glided over her skin.
"I couldn't agree more..." Lexi sighed happily as she rubbed her neck.
"Mmmhmm." Kiki nodded.
"Who wants to go out working when you have a place like this?" Cana grinned as she held up a small glass.
"After the Grand Magic Games we're getting so many requests." Lisanna said.
"I'm so busy I don't known where to start." Mira admitted, releasing a sigh.
"With all of these requests we have to rest too." Another voice spoke up.
"Uh?" Lucy turned to see the newcomer. "Levy, weren't you working today?"
"Jet and Droy said sometimes they want to go alone..." The blue-haired girl answered. "They were really fired up over something I'll never understand. So Gajeel took them with him on his mission though I have a feeling that they just followed him, I hope they're not giving him a hard time."
---------------------
Elsewhere
"Alright, Droy! Let's show Levy what we can do!" Jet said with a look of determination on his face. "Not that she's here..."
"We need to let her know we're strong men who can handle ourselves!" Droy nodded with the same look.
Though it was hard to take them seriously when they tied upside down by what appeared to be hunters.
"Please save us, Gajeel!" Thy both cried out to the Iron dragon slayer.
"Why did you bring them with us?" Lily asked with a sweatdrop.
"I didn't! They followed me." Gajeel replied with a deadpanned look.
-----------------------------
"By the way, why didn't you on a job with Sora and Lucas, Lucy?" Kiki asked and Lexi rubbed her head with a towel.
"Well, I would've but they went on a job with Natsu and Gray." Lucy answered.
"Well, that would explain why I didn't see the three of them eariler." Lexi said.
"Those two?" Lisanna gasped as she poured water over her body to wash away the soap. "That's rare!"
"They get along better recently, but its still weird that they'd go together." Mira agreed, running her fingers through her hair to get the knots out. "With Sora there, I'm sure they wont cause too much trouble."
"More importantly, Lucy." Cana snickered as she got closer to the blonde, wrapping an arm around her companion's shoulders. "It it truth that you and Sora got 'kinky' with each other the other day?" she chuckled at the blonde's horrified face as the other girls looked at Lucy in shock. "I know everything!"
'Those damn cats! 'Lucy screamed internally, an image of both Happy and Lucas popped into her mind. 'Lucas! How could you!?'
"So..." a mischievous glint was in the Cana's eye "how was it?"
"Cana!" Lucy gasped in shock.
"What?! I'm curious and from the information I got, it sounds like you guys were having fun..."
"La la la I'm not listening." Lucy said loudly, shoving her fingers in her ears.
"No need to be shy." Cana mused as she reached underneath Lucy's arms to grope at the mounds of flesh. "I bet it was because of these!"
"Wah!" Lucy blushed as she felt the extra pair of hands on her, squeezing her gently. "Wait, Cana...Ahn! It tickles."
"They're talking about breasts again..." Levy scowled with annoyance. "By the way, where did Wendy go?"
"She's out with Erza on a request." Mira told her, dipping her feet into the water. "Apparently they were attracted by the reward, it's some rare sweets."
"Uh? But I saw Erza there just now...?" Lisanna frowned as she looked at a red-hair woman settling in the water not too far away.
"That's true." Levy agreed as the woman stood up.
"Blonde." Flare spoke as she turned around, shocking them.
"It's Raven Tail's Flare..." Mira gasped.
"Why is she here?" Lexi asked.
"You...!" Cana angry charged at her, ignoring all facts that she was naked. The images from watching Lucy fight Flare rushed through her brain and that made her blood pump wildly through her body.
"Wait a minute!" Lucy shouted and tackled Cana from behind, making them crash into the water before she could harm Flare.
"What are you doing Lucy!?" The brunette snarled as Lucy's body pressed against hers. "She's..."
"She's not...such a bad person." Lucy told her quickly.
"Huh?" Cana gaped at her before looking at Flare who suddenly became bashful.
"I'll help you...wash..." Flare said as her hair started to entangle Cana and scrubbed at the skin, eliciting a yelp from the woman as she felt the hair move on its own. "Now that...Raven Tail disbanded...I have no place...to go."
"Shall we ask our master?" Lucy asked the rest of them.
"Eeeeh?! You want her in Fairy Tail?" Both Lisanna and Levy looked at her in shock.
She's similar to me...! Juvia looked at Flare in shock, holding onto her small Gray doll. She came back from her job and wanted to take a dip in the large bath house. 'That slightly embarrassed look!'
"But...I don't want to join Fairy Tail." Flare told them.
"Then why the heck are you in here!?" Lucy, Lexi, Cana and Juvia yelled at her. After the bath, Lucy quickly said goodbye to the others and sauntered outside, breathing in the fresh air. The sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly that morning. Walking along beside her was Plue.
"The bathhouse is so nice!" She spoke as she walked along the edge of the river, her arms out to keep her balance. "Though the bath at home is great too."
"Puun." Plue said
"Speaking of which, I should go work too so I can still earn some money!" She smiled as she walked up the familiar stairs of her and Sora's house and reached for the door handle.
"Puun." Plue said again.
"Welcome back!" Wendy spoke once Lucy walked through the door, Carla sat next to her on the couch, tea cup in hand.
"Sorry that we just allowed ourselves in." Erza smiled as she sat in the armchair.
"This feels like déjà vu!" Lucy gawked at them, remembering the numerous times Natsu and Happy had crashed at her home uninvited.
"I'm sorry, we entered without asking." Wendy gave her a small wistful smiling. "We would've gone to the apartment as well but Erza said that you would've checked up on your and Sora's house so we decided to wait for you here."
"The sweets we got as a reward...are a little too much for us." Erza said as she patted a suitcase next to her. "We came to share some with you."
"Waah, thank you!" Lucy grinned, "Does that mean you did a good job?"
"It was perfect." Erza told her, her eyes shining while Wendy just let out a nervous chuckle.
"By the way, aren't Happy, Lucas and the others back yet?" Carla asked her.
"They're late considering they said it was an easy job." Lucy told them.
"It's been 3 days already." Erza said with a frown on her face.
"They shouldn't be far away, shall we go check?" Wendy asked.
"It's not like I'm worried..." Carla stated with a huff.
"Indeed..." Erza pondered about the options. "Considering their skills, it's weird that they'd be so late."
"Maybe they had some trouble." Wendy offered and the three of them quickly rushed out of Lucy's door without another word.
"Wait! I'm coming too." Lucy yelled after them and they hurried off to find Sora, Natsu, Gray, Lucas and Happy.
------------------------
"Huge!" Lucy exclaimed as she and the girls arrived, only to find a monster from the request defeated, with Sora, Natsu or Gray still nowhere to be found.
"This is..." Erza began to say.
"The monster in the request." Wendy said.
"It's already over." Carla said.
Erza glanced around, "Where are the boys?"
"Guys...help...us..."
The girls looked to the side in alarm to find Happy struggling towards them on a small cane of wood with Lucas helping him.
"Happy? Lucas?" Carla asked.
"Are you guys okay?" Lucy asked.
"What happened?!" Lucy demanded.
Lucas gave out a huge sigh, "Well..."
-------------------------------
"GIVE ME A BREAK ALREADY, YOU GODDAMN FlAMETHROWER!"
"THAT'S MY LINE, YOU PERVERTED ICEPOP!"
"ZZZzzzzzz......"
Gray and Natsu finally came into view, beaten and bruised, but just from each other. They were still fighting, punching and kicking and just beating the crap out of each other. While Sora was sleeping on top pf a rock, drooling.
"Uh..." Wendy managed.
Erza rolled her eyes, "Just the usual, huh..."
"And we were worried, too..." Lucy sighed before she walked over to Sora to wake him.
Carle had to cover her mouth to keep from giggling, "My, have they been fighting for three days now?"
"Oh yeah," Happy finally collapsed, too dizzy to keep standing,
"They've also been eating and sleeping in between as well..." Lucas added.
"Oh my...If that's not a passionate fight..." Carla murmured in amusement.
Erza stepped in, "Come on, you two...not right now..."
Without so much as glancing at her, Natsu and Gray punched Erza in the face, "SHUT UP!"
Their watching guild mates blanched and dove for cover. After realizing they'd hit something other than themselves, the two men glanced at the Swordswoman.
Erza looked positively pissed, "You're dead..."
Natsu's eyes bulged, "Oh, crap! Erza!"
"What's she doing here?!" Gray screamed in horror.
Needless to say, the shrieks of pain which sounded through the forest for the next twenty minutes or so were by no means pleasant.
Hearing the noise, Sora woke up and yawn. After rubbing his eyes, he saw his friends standing nearby. "Hmm? Hey guys...." He said, but when he then saw their faces had looks of horror. Turning to wear they were staring, he saw Erza standing over two bodies with a sword.
"Uhhhh....what did I miss?"
-----------------------
Back at the guild the next day, Natsu and Gray were more annoyed with each other than ever.
"I ain't ever going on another job with that asshole again," Nastu muttered.
"Shut it, you idiot," Gray retorted, "The request was withdrawn, so we got no money."
"Yeah, don't remind me." Sora sighed as Lucy sat in his lap and rubbed his hair.
Romeo was at the same table as the feuding mages and sighed, "You guys are like big kids..."
"You guys are always the same," Elfman decided.
"Roger that!" agreed Lucas.
"Aye!" Happy nodded.
Mira came back into the guild after picking up their mail, which consisted entirely of job requests. She called over to Makarov, who was, as usual, seated on the bar, "Master! An urgent request has arrived."
"Hm? Another?" Makarov mused as he sorted through the jobs, "Since the Grand Magic Games, requests for specific wizards have just been pouring in."
"It's because everyone has gotten quite popular." Mira said.
The old man held up a request form and shouted, "Natsu, Sora, Gray! There's a request for all three of you!"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" Natsu and Gray roared in aggravation.
"Sure, what's up?" Sora asked.
Lucy sighed, "So, that's why you, Natsu and Gray went on a job together, huh?"
"Pretty much." Sora replied with a chuckle.
Erza gave the two rowdy young men a death glare, "The client went to the trouble of requesting you three! Get along this time, or else!"
Makarov was scanning the job description, but after a moment his face grew pale, "Hm? Hm-hmmm?! This is..."
"Whoa! Gramps, are you alright?" Sora asked. "You look like you seen a ghost."
Natsu walked over with his arms crossed, "Old man, just let me and Sora handle this one."
"I don't want to go with you anyway," Gray agreed.
"No..." Makarov muttered intensely, "All three of you must go. And at all costs, do not be careless...The name of your client is Warrod Sequen. Among the Ten Wizard Saints, he's ranked fourth- One of the Four Gods of Ishgal."
Everybody in the guild freaked out.
"EHHHHH?!"
"One of the Ten Wizard Saints is the client?!" Lexi gasped.
"That's beyond rare...it's practically unheard of..." whispered Lucy, whose eyes were huge.
Wendy gulped, "Why would someone so amazing...?"
"What happened?" Erza muttered.
Natsu, Sora, and Gray just stared at the old man.
"Ah?"
---------------------------
In the end, the three requested mages went on the job, but Lucy, Erza, Wendy, and surprisingly Lexi and Kiki decided to tag along with them and the exceeds of course. The path to Warrod Sequen's house was out in the wilderness, far from civilizations.
Wendy took a break from the map she had and looked to the natural landscape with enthusiasm, "Wow! It's so peaceful out here!"
"The air out here is so fresh..." Lucy sighed happily, stretching her arms.
"That breeze feels great, too..." Erza agreed as she tucked a strand of scarlet hair behind her ear, feeling the wind against her face.
Happy jumped up in the air, "It's like we're going out on a picnic!"
"Maybe..." Lucas cast a glance behind them and the girls.
Carle followed their gazes and sweat-dropped, "It would have that atmosphere...if not for that..."
"YOU ATE MY FOOD, DIDN'T YOU?!"
"I WOULDN'T EAT SOMETHING YOU TOUCHED!"
"PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!"
Everyone besides the fighting boys sighed in exasperation. It seemed they were in it for the long haul.
"Will you stop it?" Erza looked at them with disappointment, "We're about to meet a very important person."
"Oh let them argue, it's what they do best...well that and fighting. Hopefully by the time we arrive they'll run out of steam." Sora said as he continue walking.
Lexi looked at them with a smile. "By the way, thanks for letting me and Kiki come on this request."
Wendy smiled. "No problem. You really helped us against Hades and those Hungry Wolf Knights."
"Just listening to Natsu and Gray in one of their many idiotic debates makes my head hurt..." Kiki said from on top of Lexi's head, a frown on her face. "Now hush up so I can have some peace and quiet."
"Well...we came with because we were worried, but...it might be worse than we expected." Lucy said.
"So, the Ten Wizard Saints are the continent's 10 most powerful wizards chosen by the council. Right?" Lexi asked.
"Yes. Our master and Lamia Scale's Jura are among them as well." Erza said. "In the past, Phantom Lord's Jose and Jellal were members as well. The highest ranked 4 are also called Ishgal's four gods."
"Ishgal?" Wendy asked.
"It's the old name of this continent." Erza explained.
"Why would such a person...nominate someone like them..." Lucy released a sigh as she looked at the arguing duo.
"Are they badmouthing me?" The scarlet-hair knight asked when her ears picked up her name during their argument.
"Ah! There it is!" Wendy suddenly exclaimed. She pointed to a lone house on top of a hill.
"That must be the home of Warrod Sequen..." Lucy murmured.
"Not too shabby" Sora commented.
Upon seeing the place, the boys settled down. The group of mages walked to the door and carefully opened it.
"Excuse us!" Lucy announced for the group, "We're Fairy Tail mages!"
"Hush..."
The mages grew quiet at the voice, which continued, "Be quiet...the plants like the silence. If you can comprehend that, then shut those annoying mouths."
A man stood in the back of the room, facing away from them as he watered a series of plants. The Fairy Tail mages waited tensely for a response, slightly nervous that they had angered him.
"As if..."
Was that a snicker?
Flowers started growing all of a sudden, huge blossoms of every kind. The exceed gasped in surprise as they were surrounded by the growing plants.
"It's a joke, a joke!" the man cackled as he turned around, revealing himself to be quite elderly and peculiar. His head was shaped like a tree. He bore a humorous grin on his face as he continued merrily, "The plants and flowers love human voices! Wahahahaha!"
Lucy could only blink, "A..a tree?"
"Is this old guy even human?" Natsu asked.
"He looks like the head of broccoli to me..." Lexi muttered.
"Well, he's supposed to be a badass, so I guess it's expected he'd be...unique..." Gray reasoned.
Warrod cleared his throat, "Thank you for coming, wizards of Fairy Tail. Which of you are Natsu, Sora, and Gray?"
Without warning, he picked up the Happy, Lucas and Kiki. The Saint's jaw dropped in surprise, "What a shock! They're much more catlike than I anticipated!"
"He is serious...?" Lucas' eye twitched.
As quickly as he'd picked them up, he put them down, "It's just a joke! Wahahaha!"
Lexi sweat-dropped, "He's pretty high strung for an old dude, huh?"
"Y-Yeag..." Erza muttered.
Warrod sighed heartily, "Ahh, I'm thirsty..."
"WAHAHAHA!" Just like that, he picked up the watering can and started drinking from it.
Sora scratched the back of his head, "Uh, excuse me...are you Warrod Sequen of the Ten Wizard Saints?"
"Indeed!" he exclaimed, "I am Warrod Sequen!"
Eeehh!?" The wizards looked at him incredulously.
"...saying that it's a joke." Walrot laughed as the others fell over due to his crap joke.
"I feel tired already." Gray growled.
------------------------
They went outside and sat down at a table, where the Wizard Saint brought out a book, "Since I retired, I've been continuing my efforts to afforest the deserts."
"Retired?" Erza repeated, "Does that mean you were in a guild at some point, Mr. Sequen?"
He nodded, "Yes...haha, it twas a good guild..."
Warrod brought his hand up and they watched in fascination as a plant sprouted up from it, "Using my Green Magic, I halt the spread of deserts. It sounds nice if you call it charity, but honestly it's just a hobby to me. For that reason, I've been traveling the world to deserts all over. Some time ago, I found a strange village."
Opening the book, the old man continued, "According to my research, that village was once known as, "The Village of the Sun," which worshipped an everlasting flame as its guardian deity."
Natsu arched an eyebrow, "An everlasting flame?"
"Yes," Warrod confirmed, "However, the village has since been frozen."
"Hm?" Gray became interested at that particular bit of information.
"Maybe it was some kind of dark magic at work." Lexi stated.
"I cannot tell if it was a natural or man-made disaster," Warrod admitted, "But the plants, animals, and even the villagers are all frozen, not to mention the buildings and rivers. Even the everlasting flame was frozen."
Lucy's jaw dropped, "The flame was frozen?!"
"That's impossible," Sora insisted, "You can't just freeze fire..."
"I don't know what occurred in that village, but..the villagers are still alive," Warrod told them, "I cannot just leave them in their stasis. Something must be done. That is my request."
Natsu grinned at Sora, "Easy! If we combine our fire and solar magic, there ain't a thing we can't melt!"
Gray wasn't so sure, "If that were all, there'd be no reason for me to come along, right?"
"Something about all this doesn't feel right..." Lexi muttered.
The Wizard Saint smiled, "You are keen, young ones. Indeed, that ice is not an ordinary magic. I believe your power will be necessary."
Erza was listening all along, but something had been bothering her which she now brought up, "Forgive me if I'm being rude, Mr. Sequen, but someone of your power and magic...couldn't you resolve something like this on your own?"
"It seems you are quite mistaken regarding my position," Warrod informed her with a smile, "The Ten Wizard Saints are not invincible. They're just ten people hand-picked by the council. There are many other wizards out there much greater than I am on this continent alone. The likes of me are quite insignificant. In fact, I know almost no offensive magic. Quite the contrary, if I were to take on you youngsters, I have no confidence in my abilities to win."
"Really?" Wendy inquired.
The old man nodded graciously, "Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. That's what your friends and guild make up for, hmm?"
None of them could argue with that. Despite his reputation, the mages found Warrod to be quite likable, if a little bizarre at times.
"You make a good point," Lucy agreed.
Natsu and Sora bumped fists, "You got it! We accept!"
"Just leave it with us!" Lexi and Lucy exclaimed.
Warrod smiled at them and stood up, "The village is about two thousand kilometers south of here, but it's quite alright. I'll provide you with a method of reaching it quickly. Gather over here."
The mages did as he asked.
"Turn to the right," Warrod ordered.
They followed his command instantly.
"...that was a joke," he snickered.
"GIVE US A BREAK ALREADY!" they shouted indignantly.
Warrod set his staff in front of him and closed his eyes. He then began to recite an incantation in a language foreign to the younger mages, but whatever the tongue, it caused massive plants to sprout beneath them. Like a giant green serpent, a magical tree lifted the Fairy Tail mages and flew off with them in the direction of the Sun Village.
"AWESOME!" Sora shouted in glee.
"It's almost like an animal!" Erza gasped with surprise.
Wendy saw the ground rushing past them, "Look at how quickly we're flying!"
Gray took to surfing the tree with a large grin, while Lexi and Lucy just enjoyed the ride. The exceeds were also delighted, but Natsu joined Sora by throwing both fists in the air and cheering, "WHOOHOO!"
Erza glanced behind them where Warrod's house had faded away into distance. She smiled in admiration, "He's so modest, but such an incredible mage at the same time...This magic that controls mother nature is so beautiful..."
----------------------
Still channeling his power into the tree, Warrod saw the end of his magic disappear with the young mages. The old man closed his eyes and murmured softly, "They're flowing...Mavis..."
The Saint reminisced when he was their age, traveling and fighting with Purehito Gaebolg, Yury Dreyar, and Mavis Vermillion. They're adventures together were some of his fondest memories, along with the crown jewel, the formation of their guild, Fairy Tail.
He sighed bemusedly, "Has it really been one hundred and five years since then...? Mavis, your strong feelings..have all been inherited by those youngsters."
