(Masayume Chasing - Opening Theme)

--------------------

Outside of the arena...

"Is that true?" Meredy asked.

"I can't possibly believe it..." Ultear agreed. The two of them looked shocked as Jellal returned from his little trip. He managed to sneak into the stands and watched the matches but somewhere in between he felt a presence akin to Zeref. Slipping away he noticed another mysterious hooded figure walking amongst the civilians. Following the mysterious character he managed to corner him and asked to see the face. The mysterious figure complied and when the hood was removed, Jellal could only stare in shock, unsure on what to say. Letting the person go, he hurried back to Melody and Ultear to convey what he had witnessed.

"We had a huge misunderstanding..." He told them. "...and at the same time we were locked up inside a destiny that we can't change. Eclipse, the door that can change the world...and the Dragon King Festival." Meredy and Ultear looked at each other with worry before they looked at the city with serious expressions on their faces.

--------------------------

"Sting. Rouge." Jiemma spoke as the two slayers stood before him. The entire Sabertooth guild stood before their Master and it was clear that something bad was about to happen. Right after the devastating match that put Fairy Tail in 1st place, Jiemma called a meeting. The dragon slayer duo had their wounds patched up but they knew they were in deep trouble based on their master's stern facial features and how tensed he looked. "How could you?"

"I have no words to comment this defeat." Rouge spoke first, keeping his gaze on the floor. "Sora overpowered us...with power that far exceeds what we currently possess. He is by far stronger than we have anticipated."

"Are those the words of a member of the strongest guild? Ah?" Smashing the table with his fists, Jiemma rose till he towered over the two of them. "Who allowed you to show such shameful action? Who told you to lose to a puny guild like Fairy Tail? You disgraced the name of the strongest guild!" He unleashed his rage, blowing them away with just little effort.

"Rouge!"

"Sting!" Lector and Frosch yelled as they saw their respected partners ending up on the ground.

"You're not worthy of calling yourselves Sabertooth!" Jiemma continued to thrown them around like little flies. "Erase it! Erase the symbol of the crest of the guild! We don't need weaklings in our guild! We don't need losers!"

"But Master..." Lector spoke up courageously, "Both Sting and Rouge did their best. This time they lost, but I'm proud of Sting."

"Lector." Sting said as he watched his friend speak.

"I believe that people can become stronger after a defeat. Sting learned many things during this fight." Lector continued to praise Sting, speaking honestly on how he felt about the match.

"Who are you?" Jiemma said, looking down upon the cat.

"Oh, my Master. I'm a member too." Lector said, lifting up his clothes to show the mark on his back. "I have the crest here..." He stopped talking when he noticed a dangerous aura surrounding the Sabertooth Master.

"Why is an animal sporting the noble crest of Sabertooth?" Jiemma growled before thrusting a hand in the Exceed's direction. "Vanish!"

"Lector!" Sting screamed as an explosion occurred from the magic spell.

"Help me, Sting!" Lector cried out before disappearing, his existence erased in just a heartbeat. Only a small column of smoke remained where he once stood.

"Ah...Ahh...Lector..." Frosch whimpered with tears in his eyes. "Disappeared..."

"Frosch!" Rogue quickly grabbed his own cat into a hug, glaring at Jiemma for what he did to Lector.

"What an eyesore." Jiemma spat as tears rolled down Sting's face. "A cat using the crest of our guild."

"AAHHH!" Sting roared as he stood up, holding his head in his hands.

"You're noisy, Sting." Jiemma snapped as the dragon slayer howled with pain and anger.

"How could you...How could you..."

"Shut up! It was just a stupid cat."

"RRAAAAHH!" Enraged, Sting unleashed a Holy Nova which pierced Jiemma right through his chest. Eyes widening in surprise at the unpredicted attack, Jiemma uttered something inaudible before falling to the ground, defeated. The rest of the guild members stood there in horror and surprise at what had happened.

"Good." Minerva smiled.

Underneath the arena...

"What did you find, Natsu?" Wendy asked.

"Something that would blow your mind away." The fire dragon slayer smiled.

"This is something I gotta see." Sora commented.

"It better because I was taking a damn good nap." Gajeel spoke with his arms folded across his chest. He was a bit of a grouch when he didn't get enough rest.

"C'mon now." Lexi smiled as she walked next to them. "A little side adventure isn't too bad once in awhile."

"Does it have anything related to dragon slayers?" Happy asked as the Exceeds walked behind the slayers.

"Probably." Lucas and Kiki spoke simultaneously before looking at each other with a smile.

"I wonder that myself...." Lily muttered.

"...Even if you say so, there are some onlookers as well." Carla stated as she looked at Gray and Lucy.

"Whatever." The Ice mage stated with a bored expression.

"Well, we're curious." Lucy said lamely, scratching the back of her head sheepishly with one hand while the other was holding Sora's hand.

"You know Lucy there is a saying, 'Curiousity killed the cat.'" Gajeel told her.

"It's here." Natsu said, causing the group to stop walking.

"No way...!" Sora exclaimed.

"This is...!?" Wendy gasped in shock.

"What's that?" Gray asked.

"It looks like...animal bones." Lucy said nervously.

"Dragon bones to be precise..." Lexi observed, her eyebrows furrowed in thought. "This is probably what is known as the Dragons' Graveyard..."

"Are these all dragon bones!?" Happy asked as they looked around uneasily.

"Appears so..." Lucas replied looking around.

"So many..." Carla shuttered.

"This place confirms the existence of Dragons." Lily spoke, his own tail twitched back and forth.

"As if Acnologia wasn't already evidence enough." Kiki nodded her head.

" I don't understand...why so many dragons...?" Natsu questioned.

"Did something happen here?" Lucy also asked.

"It's almost like a mass extinction." Lexi said as she walked around a bit. "Judging from the looks, our dragons: Igneel, Pydron, Matelicana, Grandeeney, Mellow as well as Weisslogia and Skiadrum are not among these."

"How do you know?" Lucy looked at her in question.

"Our dragons disappeared 14 years ago." Gajeel informed her. "The ones lying here are from much more ancient times."

"Not to mention Mom told me that our dragons are still around somewhere." Sora added.

"Milky Way." Wendy suddenly spoke up, causing the others to look at her. "It's Milky Way, one of the dragon techniques that was taught to me. Listen to the voices of the Dragons, connected to the river in the sky. I thought it was an attack type of magic...but maybe it's this." She gestured to the skeletons around them. "Milky Way might be a magic used to listen to the voice of the dragons who became souls."

"Then..." Lexi and the other slayers looked at each other in excitement.

"Right. If we can hear the voices of the dragons lying here...we might be able to know what happened."Wendy nodded her head in agreement. "And maybe we might find out something about our dragons too..."

Then let's get it started." Natsu said excitedly. Grabbing a nearby stick or perhaps a piece of bone that broke from a skeleton, Wendy proceeded to draw a bunch of rune scripture that formed a magic circle.

"I was using the wrong letter because I thought it was an attack type magic!" She explained. "Done! Please step back." Sitting down in the middle of the middle of the circle she raised her arms up. "Wandering souls of the Dragons...I am ready to receive your voices. Milky Way."

"Ooh."

"So beautiful."

"Stars!" The rest of the group watched as the magic swirled around, making the rusty old bones rattle and shake.

"Hyaah, the bones..!" Lucy yelped as she hid behind Sora.

"Is this ok, Wendy?" Gray asked her.

"I'm looking for the souls of the Dragons." Wendy assured him. "The residual auras wondering in this place are extremely old...and small..." Suddenly her eyes widened with surprise. "Found it!" Clasping her hands together, she willed the magic to swirl around a certain entity, perhaps a soul. It looked like a ball of light.

"Uh!? that's..." The others backed up as it took shape into a giant dragon, a dragon with glistening green scales and it had its mouth wide open. "AHHHH!"

"AHAHAH!" The dragon suddenly laughed at their scared expressions. "It's always funny to see the shocked faces of humans. My name is Zirconis, also known as the Dragon of Jade. This technique that summoned my soul must be Grandeeney's." He looked around in hopes to see the said Sky dragon. "Where are you?" He then noticed Wendy still sitting in the circle with her hands clasped together and eyes closed at his feet. "Cuuute! Did this little dragon slayer summon me?"

"HEY! Stay away from Wendy!" Natsu growled, walking up to push Zirconis's mouth away from Wendy.

"No. I'm going to eat this girl." He replied, shoving her back.

"I'd love to see you try you giant bastard!"

"It's just a joke!" Zirconis laughed as he waved a talon absentmindedly. "What a stupid race. Look!" He jabbed his hand toward his face and Natsu braced herself but nothing happened, his claws went right through him. "What can a 'ghost' do? Ahaha."

"This guy..." Lexi frowned, still keeping her guard up since the dragon was unpredictable.

"What's with this crazy person?" Lucy asked, finding her voice after recovering from her shock.

"It's not a person, it's a dragon." Gray corrected her.

"Well, a soul." Sora corrected them both.

"I got a name for him." Gajeel muttered.

"My name is Zirconis, also known as the Dragon of-"

"We heard it already!" Gray snapped.

"What happened here? This place is full of dragon skeletons...and so we summoned your soul to find out the truth." The Exceeds spoke.

"I have nothing to say to humans." Zirconis huffed, looking to the side. "Go away."

"We're cats." Happy corrected him.

Right...it happened over 400 years ago." Zirconis proceeded to tell the story so the humans got comfortable since it might turn out to be a long tale. "Dragons used to be the kings of the world back then. They could freely fly through the sky, walk the earth...and cross the sea. There was prosperity. Everything in this world belonged to the dragons. Human beings were nothing more than our food. Guhuhuh. However...a foolish dragon started to question the sovereignty of our species. He talked nonsense and wanted a world where dragons and humans could coexist. A war started between the dragons who approved of his ideals and the ones who were against them."

"Against...does that mean that you...?" Lucy looked at him in fear.

"I don't like humans." Zirconis stated bluntly. "Though I love them as food."

"You're talking to food." Natsu laughed at him.

"What happened to the war?" Kiki asked him.

"The war continued for a long time. The fights between dragons ruined many places. Until the dragons that supported coexistence came up with a foolish strategy. They taught humans the magic to slay dragons...and asked them to join the battle." The Jade dragon shook his head at the thought.

"So that's how dragon slayers were born?" Lexi murmured to herself.

"The power of the dragon slayers was immense. It was clear that the dragons that wanted coexistence were going to win. However...there was a miscalculation. The dragon slayers, who had become too powerful...started to kill the dragons that were on their side too. And among those humans there was one...who bathed in too much dragon blood."

"Are you talking about...Acnologia?" Sora asked him.

"H-h-how can you say his name like that?" Zirconis looked at her with his beady eyes. "I'm scared to utter his name and yet you can say it without batting an eyelash? Impossible."

"He's still out there in this world and...we battled against him and lost."

"I see. Well, continuing on. That 'man' murdered countless dragons and kept on bathing in their blood. Eventually his skin became scales...his teeth became fangs...and he gradually started to look more and more like a dragon. That's how dragon slaying magic evolve."

"Then what about them?" Gray gestured to the skeletons. "What's their story?"

"All the dragons you see sleeping here were murdered by that man." Zirconis replied. "Despite being a man, he became the King of dragons. The war that brought to the birth of the King of dragons...was called The Dragon King Festival."

"So...Acnologia used to be human?"

"That's impossible!"

"Such a thing...is it actually true?" The gang whispered amongst one another in worry.

"Most of the dragons were killed by him. This is what happened 400 years ago. Because of you...I was..." Suddenly Zirconis disappeared without finishing his sentences.

"Hey!" Natsu yelled.

"Do go yet!" Sora called.

"Wendy! What happened?" Lexi asked her.

"Sorry..." She apologized, opening her eyes. "His aura vanished completely. I think this is what people from the east call, 'Entering Nirvana.'"

"We're talking about something huge here." Gray frowned after a moment of silence.

"Too much." Lucy agreed.

"Wait...does that mean that if we use dragon slaying magic too much we become dragons as well!?" Natsu asked with worry.

"How should we know!?" Gajeel stated hotly.

"Wait! I'm part dragon. Does that count?" Sora asked.

"I don't wanna!" Wendy freaked out at the thought of turning into a giant overgrown lizard.

"Yeah! I'm perfectly fine with the way I am!" Lexi said.

"That's impossible." A new voice spoke, causing the others to tense up.

"Who is that?" Natsu growled as the sound of boots reached their ears; This newcomer must be a guard from the palace and he wasn't alone. A young maiden stood by his side and the Fairy tail mages recognized her as Yukino, an ex-member of Sabertooth however she was wearing different clothing.

"I listened to the whole story. Indeed, the historical facts match what we researched. Do you know the demons in Zeref's book?" As they approached the group, the man in the lead kind of had a nose much like Pinocchio's and a lot of facial hair.

'Deliora!?' Gray gritted his teeth in anger as he was haunted by his mentor's death by that monster.

"Acnologia is similar to them. According to a hypothesis, it was Zeref who transformed a man into Acnologia. In other words..." The man smiled. "Destroying Zeref, the original cause of all that is evil...would be the first step to defeat Acnologia."

Carla looked at him in shock. 'A white knight! From my vision...!?"
