Chapter Nine ; Strawberry Cake Mistake

Back at Fairy Hills, the boys looked at Laxus with their mouths hanging open. "What the hell do you mean, Laxus?" Natsu roared in confusion. To him, something like that was what girls would do, not boys.

Laxus' cheeks were tinted a shade of pink, but he kept his composure. "You know... what do we think of the girls." He repeated in a different way. Gray stepped up to the dragon slayers.

"Yea, we aren't doing that. Leave that to the girls." He crossed his arms over his bare chest. "We can play something, though." He shrugged as he sat back down next to one of Erza's armors.

Sting jumped up with Lector on his shoulder. "Ooh! How about Truth or Dare?" He said with a goofy smile on his face. Laxus sighed in relief as he nodded, realizing that this was how he could get the information he needed.

The men in the group stood up, ready to leave. "We've done enough of this in our lifetime, you guys have fun." Wakaba rubbed the back of his neck as some other guys murmured in agreement. Macao warned Romeo to go to bed early and left with rest of the people.

"Uhm, I guess that leaves us." Sting said as he plopped down in his seat in the circle of boys that were left. Only Natsu, Happy, Gray, Jellal, Cobra, Laxus, Elfman, Gajeel, Romeo, Alzack, Sting, Rogue, Pantherlily, Frosh, and Lector were left. They made a circle to start their game. Some of the Sabertooth boys refused to come and the other Crime Sorciere members were back at their camp searching for clues to finding Scar and his brothers.

The boys were seated in a half circle because Erza's armor blocked off the wall. "So," Elfman spoke up, "how exactly are we going to do this?"

Sting chuckled at the Strauss's confusion, "The classic way, of course! I'll start, and then whoever I choose goes next and so on." He turned to his best friend, with a daring expression, "Truth or Dare?"

"Dare." Rogue answered, his arms still crossed.

"I dare you to clip up your fringe, and keep it that way for the rest of the night." Sting smirked like a dream of his had just come true. Rogue sighed at his childish friend, but did the dare.

Now it was Rogue's turn to chose a victim, "Gajeel, truth or dare?"

"Truth," Gajeel simply stated as he turned his head to the side.

By this time of the party, everyone had found out about Gajeel and Levy. "When did you and Levy even have time to..you know..?"

"Not to long after the war ended, she snuck me here to talk about things, and one thing lead to another, and now I'm gonna be a Pappy." Gajeel responded, keeping his answer rather vague, leaving out the most important details. When the others continued to stare at him, he got fed up, "Salamander! You next! Chose, truth or dare." He demanded.

"I ain't scared of anything you have to say! Dare." Natsu said, he was obviously all fired up.

"Geehe, I dare you to vandalize some of Scarlet's armor." Gajeel said darkly, knowing that this would scare the poor flame wizard.

"Wha-? No way man, that's like, suicide! Do you want me to die?" Natsu freaked out, hyperventilating, while Gajeel made chicken noises in the background. Hearing this, Natsu snapped out of it with an evil glint in his eyes. He made a small flame come out of his index finger as he walked over to Erza's everyday armor. With the flame, he drew a tiny illustration of a dragon. The silver metal turning black where he drew.

"Now, Laxus, I dare you to fight me!" Most of the remaining wizards facepalmed at Natsu's stupidity. Of course he of all people wouldn't know how to properly play a game as simple as this.

"Uh, Natsu," Sting interrupted with a sweatdrop forming at his brow, "That's not how you play this. You have to ask truth or dare, you can't just assign it."

"I just ruined Erza's armor, I can do whatever I want." Natsu responded to the blond guild master. "Now Laxus! Fight me!!"

Irritated at how Natsu was acting, Laxus agreed to fight him, taking down the poor boy with only one punch. Once he was done, he let out a sigh of relief, "Truth or Dare, Gray?"

"I pick truth." Gray told Laxus.

"Okay, do you like anybody? If so, who and how's it going with them." The wizards were shocked that this kind of question was coming from the lightning slayer, Laxus. Normally, he was always closed off, but today he had been asking questions about this kind of thing right and left. But, since most of the people in the room where idiots, they just shrugged it off.

Gray deeply exhaled with a solemn face, "Yeah... I like Juvia. Things aren't going to well between the two of us. I told her around the time Tartaros attacked that once this was all over, I would tell her what I thought about her confession. I never got to, because stuff kept happening, and it still keeps happening. So yeah, I like Juvia, but things aren't going to good."

The playful mood in the room had died down and now the atmosphere was eerily still and silent. On this note, Laxus decided that it was late enough, and everyone should probably get some sleep so they could get back to fighting Scar and his other brothers in the morning.

Most of the guys agreed, but Romeo insisted on staying up later. Macao almost never let him stay up past 11:00 and it was now 2:30. He wanted to stay up until at least three o' clock. Natsu agreed to stay up with Romeo, so those two were over in the kitchen, raiding the fridge of all its food.

"Hey Natsu, look! There's a whole uneaten cake in here!" Romeo said with bright eyes. His stomach rumbled a bit louder than he expected as he stared at the sugary goodness, drool beginning to drip out of the left side of his mouth. "Yuuum!"

Natsu looked over to where Romeo was admiring the cake, took one glance at the cake, and brought two forks over to the young boy. "Don't tell your dad that I let you eat a half of a cake."

It the morning, the two fire wizards awoke on the floor of the kitchen, covered in crumbs and icing. Natsu was the first to speak, "Wait, Romeo."

"Yeah Natsu?" The small wizard asked, looking up to Natsu's pale and concerned face.

"What kind of cake did we eat last night?" Natsu asked, his voice cracking at the ending of his sentence.

Romeo thought for a minute and then answered the pink-haired male, "Uh, I think it was a strawberry cake."

Natsu turned almost as white as Master Makarov's hair, "Romeo."

"Yes Natsu?" Romeo repeated, wondering what was up with Natsu.

"Did that cake have a note on it? Something like, 'Don't eat this or face severe issues'?" Natsu questioned, with pure and utter horror in his usually cheerful voice.

"Actually, yeah it did. It said 'If you even touch a crumb on this cake, you will face terrible consequences and you will wish that Acnologia actually succeeded in his evil plans. You have been warned.' It was a really weird note." Romeo laughed to himself, recalling the note.

"Romeo, I think we've made a horrible mistake." Natsu said, running his fingers through his hair. "I think we just ate Erza's cake. Erza's strawberry cake. The Erza's strawberry cake. The Erza Scarlet's strawberry cake. The Erza Scarlet, Titania's strawberry cake." Romeo still looked at Natsu like he had lowkey lost what little control he still had in his mind. Natsu tried to further explain their terrible mistake to Romeo, "Erza loves strawberry cake more than she loves armor. She loves strawberry cake more that she loves weddings. She loves strawberry cake more than she would love her own child if she had one. Long story short, Romeo, we are dead!"

Jellal had woken up not too long ago, and he was now making his way to the kitchen to make some breakfast. When the poor blue haired wizard arrived in the room, he saw both Natsu and Romeo rocking back and forth in horror, and they were crying as well. Both looked like they had just lost the only thing the cared about in life to the worst enemy anyone could ever have.

The two looked like they had witnessed the murder of everyone and everything that they had ever cared about. They looked more horrified than Gray did when Juvia 'died'.

"What's going on in here?" Jellal asked, he was genuinely curious about what had put the two wizards in this state.

Natsu and Romeo immediately jumped up from their self-pitying spots and ran over to Jellal. They were still crying, but now they were rocking Jellal back and forth, begging him to help them spare their poor useless lives.

Still puzzled as to what happened, Jellal asked them again, "What happened? Did someone die?"

Finally, Jellal earned a full response from Natsu, "Erza's going to kill us! We ate her strawberry cake by accident!"

"Why don't you just make her another one?" Jellal brought the oblvious solution to their attention.

Both of their faces brightened up as they looked at eachother then back to Jellal. Romeo's sunk not too soon after, "I don't know who to bake.."

"Neither do I.." Whispered Natsu, the two exchanged glances once again and looked deviously at the Crime Sorciere master.

In unison, the two said in an instance, "Jellal, please help us!" Jellal opened his mouth to respond, but Romeo and Natsu cut him off again, "Without you we're hopeless! We'll be as good as dead if you don't help! We're sure you know how to bake cake, you and Erza are such good friends! Please Jellal! Please! You're our only hope! Help us, Jellal!"

"I'll help, I suppose." Jellal said with a slight chuckle.

The boys, luckily, finished baking right before the others came to get them. Now it was, unfortunately, time for them to get back to researching the three troublesome brothers that were terrorizing the Fairy Tail guild.

Cobra, Jellal, and the Fairy Tail wizards started heading back to the guild hall where the girls were already hard at work. Levy was surrounded by books, trying to find something about Scar's powers. They knew it was an extremely powerful forgotten magic from ancient times, and that was about it so far.

Lucy, Wendy, Meredy and Sorano were coming up with theories as to why they had chosen the Fairy Tail mages to hurt. They thought up many things, like if the brothers had any dark guild help. Or if the brothers were in a bigger dark guild. Then they questioned if they three had been hired by somebody who wanted Fairy Tail gone. Pantherlily decided to go over to the group of Lucy, Wendy, Meredy, and Sorano. He hadn't been at any of the attacks, and he knew very little about the brothers.

The worst part about Scar, Skull, and Death was that they hadn't the slightest idea why anyone would do this. The brothers barely spoke about anything but their power. The one thing they did was offer Gajeel a job, however.

Reedus was with Erza and Jellal, drawing pictures of the three brothers. He finished up the drawings and all of the wizards who didn't know what they looked like, or who weren't present at any of the attacks were required to see.

Erza and Jellal were in the front, showing everybody which wizard was which brother and explaining their powers, strengths, and weaknesses. After the presentation, Pantherlily flew over to get a better look at the illustrations, because he was so small, he couldn't see from the back of the groups.

Once the small black exceed got a better look at the wizards, his jaw dropped. He knew these boys back from his past! "Oh, my," he whispered to himself. He changed from his small form to his bigger form and went to find Master Makarov.

He found the Master in his office, studying something and explained to him what was going on. Now, Pantherlily was in front of the whole guild, about to explain something that could change everything. Everyone's attention was on Lily as he began to explain what he had found out. "Scar, Skull, and Death aren't these brother's real names. They are Jax, Ryker, and Jackson Coy. I know them from a long time ago. They were originally from Edolas. One day, they just disappeared, and I never saw them again."

"Are you saying that these people came from the same place Mystogan and Porlyusica came from?" Lucy asked, tilting her head, "Do you think they knew each other?"

Lily nodded, acknowledging Lucy's question, "It's a possibility. I'm not for sure though."

"He never mentioned any of them to me." Wendy added, "But then again, he never really talked about Edolas to me."

Mest joined in on the conversation,"Perhaps we could find a way to Edolas. Maybe Mystogan would be able to help with this. Levy, do you think you could try and find a way?"

Gajeel nodded, "If anyone can, it's definitely Levy!"
