Everyone in Team A was sleeping in the dorms. All accept Wendy who's eyes slowly opened.

Wendy: 'Oh no. Please not now of all times! I really need to sleep!'

She internally panicked as not to wake anyone up. She slowly and quietly made her lay out of bed and outside. Not wanting or willing to go too far she sat on top of the roof of the dorm.

Wendy: 'Mmm. I known I didn't feel this bad before the games, so why is it hitting me now? M-Maybe I should just ask to be replaced in the games.'

Ryu: Mm... Why would you go and do that Wendy?

Wendy slightly jumped and saw Ryu behind her. He yawned before waving.

Wendy: R-Ryu?! Did you just-

Ryu: Read you're thoughts? Yup. 'The benefits of fourth wall breaking readers.'

He went over to Wendy and sat down beside her.

Ryu: Alright Wendy, talk to me. It's just us here.

Shojo: And me and Logius technically but just don't mind us.

Ryu: Why do you want to be subbed?

Wendy: Well, after seeing Keith and Aqua compete, I just realized something.

He rose an eyebrow hearing this.

Ryu: And that is?

Wendy: That compared to everyone else, I'm just so... Weak.

Hearing that made something in Ryu crack.

Ryu: Wendy, let me tell you a story.

Wendy: A story?

Ryu: When I first came into Fairy Tail, I was a nervous wreck.

Wendy: HUH?!

Shojo: Yeah I know. The words nervous and Ryu really don't seem like they exist together.

Ryu: Anyway, I thought I'd be a weak link in the guild since I had no experience at all. The only thing I ever came in contact to that was even close to a Guild was Dragon's Ein. And it was a Dark one.

Wendy: But, what does that have to do with anything?

Ryu: It turns out, I had nothing to worry about. I ended up fitting right in and was pretty strong in our ranks. Do you get where I'm going with this?

Wendy: Umm, not really.

Ryu: I'm saying that you definitely aren't weak. Not in any sense of the word. It's cause you're in Fairy Tail.

Ryu patted Wendy on top of her head.

Ryu: So don't go thinking that you'll hold us back. You'll do just the opposite. It wouldn't be the same team without you.

Ryu had his bright grin on his face that always seemed to brighten everyone's mood. Wendy looked at him before tearing up and smiling.

Ryu: I'll tell you this much Wendy, you fist may be tiny, while still packing one heck of a punch, but you have the biggest heart in Fairy Tail.

Wendy: Really?

Ryu: Of course.

Wendy: *Sniff* Thank you Ryu. You always know what to say.

Ryu seeing her tears had his masculine defenses weaken.

Ryu: 'Damn those tiny cinnamon roll tears!!'

Logius: Oh good grief Ryu get a grip.

Wendy soon hugged him most likely having something in Ryu melt.

Ryu: 'Ugh. Damn my Papa Dragon Mode.'

He smiled at her before petting the top of her head.

TIME SKIP!!

After the talk they had they went back into the dorm. Seeing that Wendy wasn't able to sleep still, Ryu had one of his less thought through ideas. He slept on the sofa with Wendy sleeping beside him with her head on his shoulder. When everyone bar the two woke up, Aqua immediately began to snicker quietly.

Aqua: PFFT! *Whisper* Raito get my camera I can't miss the chance to get this!

Raito: *Whisper* Oh I am way ahead of you.

Raito had the camera in hand ready to take a picture.

Keith: *Whisper* Well if he wakes up you two are getting trolled after the games.

Raito snapped a picture as it came out.

Raito: *Whisper* FREAKIN GOLD!!

He reached for the picture only to find that it was gone.

Aqua: The hell?

Wendy: So that's what it's like in stopped time?

They all turned to see the pair right behind them.

Ryu: Ya'll can kiss my ass.

He burned the photo making Aqua and Raito nervously laugh.

Keith: I'm saying it now, I had no part in this.

Ryu: We can go over that later. We've gotta get ready for the games.

They all got ready and headed to the arena.
