Shards Of Memory: Voratu
Reaching out the wraith now touched the wall, plunging both him and Miraak into a vision.
A land of vast desert, with sands all over it, mountains covering it's northern boundaries. The wraith, now given flesh, leading sieges and slaughtering people left and right. Then a cheer behind it all, "Voratu!" The voices cheered, as if celebrating him.
Gasping Miraak awoke to Igneel shaking him, "What the hell just happened to you?" Nashi asked, worried for her friend. Groaning Miraak sat up, running a hand through his hair, pushing his bangs off his face. "I...I don't know." The old shop keeper now stood over the boy. "Um, if your quite alright, I'll consider your help done, and pay you for your time." Groaning, Miraak stood. The vision left him a little disoriented, but it's effects quickly dissipated once he stood. "Um thank you sir. If I may ask, what was your problem." As the old man walked to the counter he answered. "For the past couple days I'd been hearing something from that wall. It was getting worse, so I had the bookshelf moved over it. But when you collapsed. Suddenly the sound stopped, like something just, made it vanish." Shrugging at the last part he looked to the trio, handing them three bags with several hundred jewels each. "Now, do you mind moving the shelf back? If you don't mind."
With the shelf replaced and jewels in hand, the three Fairy Mages headed back to the train station. Falling behind the Dragon Slayer Siblings Miraak looked to the wraith. "What was that?" He whispered. "A vision of my past, etched for eternity in magic. I now remember fragments of it. I was a warrior, a leader. Where and when I still do not know." Miraak looked forward again, making sure his friends didn't hear him talking to the ghostly figure. "There were voices, during the vision. They kept saying 'Voratu', does that mean anything to you wraith?"
The wraith slowly nodded now. "Yes, it does. It was once what I was called. It is my name." Nodding slowly Miraak looked to his friends. "I'll see if I can find anything. We have places to look for that name." The wraith, Voratu, now vanished. Heading back to his friends Miraak shrugged off the name of his undead companion for the moment. It was a long ride home, and it would be an even longer search for that name, why worry now.
Sighing Miraak walked into the guild library. "Mrs Redfox?" Looking about he saw the short blue haired historian of Fairy Tail pop her head around one of the bookcases. "Oh. Miraak, what brings you here?" She asked, walking over to him. "I was looking for info on a name I found during my mission with Nashi and Igneel. I thought the guild library would have something." Levy now walked along to the bookshelves, piled high with all manner of books. "Sure, what's the name your looking for." Miraak looked to the shelves, sighing as the word bounced around ceaselessly in his head. "Voratu."
