At The Summit Of Apocrypha

Opening his eyes Miraak stood, looking around at the once bleak land that was Apocrypha. "So this is Apocrypha?" Nodding Miraak looked to Voratu. "Home to the millions of tomes in this world and Skyrim, filled with knowledge. Forbidden or otherwise, it's here."

Turning Miraak looked to the summit of the land, a towering mass of metal and stone, which was where it's owner lived. "We need to get up there, Zeref lives on the Summit, since it takes flight to reach it." Voratu looked about, muttering with irritation. "Of which we clearly have none." What he failed to notice was that Miraak had grabbed a book, leafing through it.

"Only cause you don't know where to look." Flipping to the page he sought Miraak repeated it's lines aloud. "Come forth, dark wings of the Etherious, and grant me passage to the summit. That I might gain audience with your creator." As if on cue an Etherious flew from the pool of poison in the middle of the floor, grabbing Miraak and taking flight to the summit. "You win this one boy." Voratu grumbled and disappeared, merely needing to follow Miraak to reach the peak.

Dropping from the obedient Etherious grasp Miraak landed with all the grace of a master, having taken this trip multiple times since he was first brought to the land by his father, almost thirteen years ago. Walking along he then found his pseudo uncle's works, stacked high on his desk. "All books. No author. Dammit Uncle Zeref where did you go?" Looking about Miraak now noticed the poison center of the floor was empty, a stairwell in it's place. "Observant, aren't we." Voratu asked dryly. "Least I got us here, all you did was be pessimistic the whole time." Miraak grumbled back as he walked down the spiraling stairs into the tower.

"What is that thing?" Voratu asked, Miraak watching the sleeping Lurker from just above the base of the stairs. "A Lurker, guardians of Apocrypha, annoying bastards that they are." Hopping to a bookshelf beside the stairs Miraak reached inside and withdrew a blade of ebony. "You intend to kill it with that?" Voratu asked, still "standing" on the stairs. "Yeah, now when I get around behind it do something to annoy it. Like being yourself." Miraak gave the wraiths glare a simple smile, then began using the bookshelves lining the walls, climbing around behind the lurker.

"Now." He said to Voratu. With a grumble the wraith managed to appear in the physical world, if only for a moment. Putting his fingers to his lips he let out an ear piercing whistle, which woke the Lurker with a start. Rising to it's feet the Lurker roared at it's glowing prey, only to roar out in pain now as Miraak leapt down and slashed at it's calf, forcing it to kneel, low enough that Miraaks blade then expertly cleaved it's arm away. As the beast spun to attack it's enemy it then reeled back as Miraak jammed the blade into it's eye. Half blind now the creature crawled, whimpering as Miraak followed, quickly ending it's suffering.
