A/N: here's chapter 9 for ya guys

The next morning

Master Makarov had called a meeting to announce who he had selected to compete in Grand Magic Games. The morning was filled with a mixed reaction from the Fairy Tail guild, the members who had already experienced the Grand Mafic Games were filled with dread as they couldn't stomach the idea of being humiliated yet again whereas the members who were on Tenrou Island were full of optimism and anger that there friends had been reduced to a laughing stock. "Alright now I shall announce who will be taking part in the Grand Magic Games". Makarov announced as the shirt guild master stood on one the tables so everyone in the guild could see him. "Our team will consist of Nastu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, Lucy Heartfilia, Erza Scarlet, Wendy Marvel and as a backup Elfman Strauss". Makarov announced as most of the guild cheered at the selection thinking that they had a good chance to win the games this year. "Master if I may ask why did you pick us"? Erza asked as she voiced her concern about being selected for the games, Makarov closed his eyes as he replied "The reason I chose you as well as Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Wendy and Elfman is because I believe that you represent the best aspects of our guild. The strength to stand up for what you believe in, the will to fight when no one else would and the courage to fight for the people you love. That is the reason I chose you because without you this guild would be without the one thing that makes us Fairy Tail, we wouldn't have our heart. Everyone in the guild began to cheer and shout Master Makarov's name. 

 As everyone in the guild started to make their way to the coliseum Makarov asked Daniel, Ultear, Laxus, Gajeel, Juvia and Mirajane to stay behind. "What's the matter gramps, what do you need from us"? Daniel asked cocking an eyebrow."There's something I would like you lot to do". Makarov said.

At the start of the Grand Magic Games

As members of every guild in Fiore gathered in the centre of Crocus a small man wearing a pumpkin mask, a small red cape and a green shirt and green pants stood on a stage and said in a high pitched voice "Welcome to the Grand Magic Games this part of the games is the qualifying round, this is to reduce the number of guilds that can compete. Right now there are one hundred and thirteen guilds present but only eight can compete in the games. Good luck"! The pumpkin man said as the ground started to shake and a massive sphere appeared in the sky taking everyone up into what was known as the Sky Labyrinth. After the sphere was moving around every so often. Every team that could compete in the rest of the games had been decided.

At the coliseum

"Well this outfit is kinda cool". Natsu said as he looked at the outfit he was wearing, which was a dark purple zip up jumper with his traditional white scarf and purple pants."I like mine as well". Erza said with a smile, her outfit was similar to Natsu except she had no scarf but she did have metal gauntlets on. "I'm still worried about Wendy, she didn't come back to the hotel and also when we found her she said her magic power had been drained". Natsu said with a sad look on his face."Don't worry about it man, Wendy's tough plus that training we did with Daniel made her even tougher, she'll pull through plus we gotta fight extra hard just for Wendy". Gray said in a rare moment to try and comfort Natsu as the fire dragon slayer looked at the black haired ice Mage and nodded his head.

The stadium was packed to the brim, then the pumpkin man came out and announced the guilds competing in this years Grand Magic Games. "In eighth place we have Fairy Tail". As the name was announced the whole stadium rained down in a shower of boos. Stunning everyone who had came back from Tenrou at just how hated the guild was now. However, everyone from Fairy Tail, who was not competing in the games, came to cheer them on.

"In seventh place we have Quatro Cerberus".

"In sixth place we have Mermaid Heel".

"In fifth place we have Blue Pegasus".

"In fourth place we have Lamia Scale".

"In third place we have Raven Tail". This frustrated Makarov who believed they were still a dark guild, but unknown to him they were now an official guild. Makarov now questioning Raven Tails master Ivan's motive.

"In second place we have... Wait this can't be right, alright in second place we have Fairy Tail Team B". This shocked everyone into silence as Daniel, Ultear, Laxus, Gajeel, Juvia and Mirajane walked out of the tunnel. Daniel had a smile on his face as he loved seeing the shocked faces of everyone in the stadium.

"In first place we have Sabertooth". The coliseum then erupted into massive cheers for the strongest guild in Fiore. Sting and Rouge looked at Daniel still a little bit in fear of the power they had felt last night.

"And that concludes the teams competing in this years Grand Magic Games, now every team has a few hours to prepare for the first event and then to end the day we will have some one on one fights". The pumpkin man said walking away.

A few hours later

"This first event is called hide and seek, in this event you will have to find and take out the other seven contestants. Doing this will reward you with one point, but the twist is that there are magic clones walking around, however if you attack one of the clones you lose a point". After a while people were trading the lead but then everyone was hit by a power memory make spell fired by Rufus. He wore a bright red hat with pink feathers in the ribbon, he had a long red overcoat with brown pants and black boots, the long blonde haired male from Sabertooth claimed the games were too easy. After the event was over Sabertooth was in the lead, everyone in the crowd cheered, and both Fairy Tail teams were in last place, everyone in the crowd booed. The battles had started and Lucy fought Flare, a Raven Tail Mage with long red hair that reached all the way down her back with a red dress, Lucy lost but from where Fairy Tail stood the way she lost was suspect. 'There's no way Lucy would have fainted like that, something is up' Daniel thought as he walked away from where his team was standing. Daniel walked out into the arena and was met with the sight of a tall bald man with a long beard, he was wearing a large black blazer like a cape with a White Gi.

"Well well Jura it has been quite a while". Daniel smirked. "Yes it has, even though we are friends I must put that aside and win for my guild". Jura said determined to win."Funny I was gonna say the same". Daniel said getting into his fighting stance.The fight began at such a fast pace that everyone, even some of the more powerful mages, had trouble keeping up with all the action. Ten minutes into the fight Jura unleashed a spell that sent a massive rock fist straight at Daniel who dodged the punch barely and charged Jura but when he was a few feet away he sunk into the ground shocking everyone including Jura. Daniel then jumped out from behind Jura and yelled "Earth Dragon Tectonic Knuckles" connecting with the side of Jura's face with a fist that was encased in jagged and sharp rocks and sent the wizard saint flying all the way to the other side of the arena.

"You've gotten stronger Daniel, but while you were gone for 7 years I was training and now my power is just below that the gods of Ishgar". Jura stated rising to his feet, he then clapped his hands together and the arena started to shake as a massive light pillar surrounded Daniel "Rumbling Fuji"! Jura yelled as a bright white light enveloped Daniel hitting him with a majority of Jura's power. Daniel fell to the floor seemingly unconscious, the match was almost called off but Daniel shakily stood up and looked Jura dead in the eye and said "That all you got big guy". Smirking he then ran at Jura and the two got into a brawl that Jura was winning knocking Daniel down once again.

"Just give up Daniel you won't win and you'll just end up hurting yourself even more, and I do not wish to injure a friend anymore than I already have". Jura said with slight bit of sadness in his voice indicating he really didn't want to hurt his more. "If you want me to stop then kill me, because as long as I draw breath I will fight for what I believe, so take your pity somewhere else because I don't want it"! Daniel yelled raising to his feet again." Now let's have some fun". He said as the ground started to shake. Jagged rocks clung to Daniel's arms and hands and a large lizard tail with pointed rocks along the back of the tail the seemed to form a row of spikes.

Daniel then ran at Jura, he was much faster than before so fast that Jura couldn't keep up with him and Daniel knocked Jura back to create space. The timer just hit twenty minutes, there was ten minutes left. Two magic circles appeared around Jura,one above him and one underneath him, Daniel clasped his hands together and said "Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Tectonic Detonation"! A massive explosion was heard, when the dust cleared Jura was lying on the floor unconscious. "D-d-daniel from Fairy Tail wins". One of the announcers said shocked at the level of power Daniel gave off and used. The whole stadium was in complete silence.

As Daniel's scales and tail disappeared he looked at the crowd then at Fairy Tail and then finally at Sabertooth and yells "Doubt Fairy Tail again I dare you"! Daniel then walked to Jura and helped him up, the two then shook hands and went out their respective tunnels and back to their guilds hotels.

Inside Bar Sun

"What kind spell was that"! Natsu yelled at Daniel. "It's my secret art, it creates an explosion strong enough to destroy a tectonic plate". The guild looked stunned. "However I only used a little bit of magic so it was more like a large hill exploding". Daniel said rubbing the back of his head.
