The school bell rang through the halls as students ran out of their classes. The day had finally ended and everyone was happy. Lucy happily walked out of the classroom with her boyfriend Natsu. The two had been dating for 2 years now but have known each other since they were kids. They made their way outside where the rest of their friends were.

"Hey everyone" Lucy greeted.

"Hi Lu-chan" Levy replied. The large friend group began making their way back to their respective homes.

"Now that the weekend is here, does anyone have any idea what we'll be doing?" Jellal asked.

"There was that new hot spring that opened quite recently, maybe we could go there?" His girlfriend Erza suggested.

"There's also a karaoke place nearby that area as well" Gajeel added.

"Sounds like fun" Levy pointed out, "All agree?"

"Yeah, I'm in" everyone else except Natsu replied.

"I won't be able to go out on Saturday, I'll be a bit busy by then" Natsu exclaimed.

"What? What will you be doing then?" Lucy questioned. Before he could answer, his house just so happened to be there and he abruptly left. This left the group in confusion. Natsu had been doing this a lot almost every time they suggest a day to go out. All of them were unsure as to what he could be doing. This has been happening since the beginning of their high school year.

"What gives? The flame-brain is always ditching us when this happens" Gray questioned.

"Not sure, Natsu-kun might be hiding something from us" Juvia suggested.

"Do you know Lucy?" Erza asked.

"Not a clue, every time I ask, he just brushes it off" Lucy answered.

"There must be a reason as to why he's been doing this" Levy exclaimed.

"Is there anyone who wants to get down to the bottom of this?" Jellal asked.

"I'll do it, I think I might be able to get myself into his house and see what he's hiding" Lucy answered. Everyone agreed to this and decided to let Lucy take care of the situation.

The next day

Lucy made her way to the front of the Dragneel household. She was slightly nervous because she doesn't know what to expect. Could Natsu be cheating on her? She shook of that hypothesis because she knows that Natsu is the most loyal boyfriend there is to her. Maybe he's plotting some kind of evil scheme? That one was silly on Lucy's part because a high school student wouldn't have a reason to do that. She decided that it was now or never and knocked on the door. It opened to reveal a small girl with blue hair.

"Hi Lucy-san, what brings you here?" Wendy asked.

"I just came to see Natsu, that's all" Lucy answered.

"Oh sorry, Natsu-san is not available right now, maybe you can come back later" Wendy suggested.

"Wendy, I need to see him though, it is urgent" Lucy exclaimed.

"Sorry Lucy, but you can't see him right now" Wendy said.

"Hey, is that Romeo?" Lucy pointed behind her.

"Where?" Wendy asked, moving forward to see only to find that he wasn't there. Realising what just happened, she turned to see Lucy running into her house.

"Oh no, I've fallen for an easy trap" Wendy cried.

Lucy ran into the house and made her way to Natsu's room. She ran past Igneel who was extremely confused as to why his son's girlfriend came running past him. Wendy just managed to reach him as he was thinking.

"What's going on?" Igneel asked.

"Natsu told me to not let any of his friends in and I fell into an easy trap" Wendy answered.

"Was it another Romeo trick?" Igneel questioned.

"Yes" Wendy sighed.

"Don't worry sweetie, you'll learn not to fall for that" Igneel reassured, "So why isn't Natsu wanting his friends around?"

Meanwhile

Lucy ran up the stairs where Natsu's room was. Before she could make it to his room, she heard some interesting sounds. It sounded like music, but the melody and tone were that of a string instrument. She walked towards the door frame of his room and looked inside to see a surprising sight. Natsu was standing there with a violin in his arms playing a musical piece. The way the bow shifted was elegant and the movement of his left hand looked so natural. The piece he played sounded strong, brave and noble. It wasn't a piece that was well known, it sounded new, as if he wrote it. Lucy smiled at his performance, she never knew that this was what he was hiding. As soon as he finished playing, Natsu turned around and saw Lucy standing there. This took him by complete surprise and he almost dropped his violin.

"WHAT THE??? LUCY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE???" Natsu cried.

"I came to see why you have been avoiding everyone" Lucy explained, "I never knew you could play violin, why did you hide it from us?"

"Well, I only kept this a secret mainly because the talent show at school was coming and I wrote a piece to play" Natsu replied, putting his violin down.

"So the piece you were playing was for the talent show coming soon?" Lucy asked.

"Yeah, it sounds great but it would be helpful if I had a pianist to accompany me, I can only play one instrument at a time" Natsu answered.

"I can do it" Lucy suggested.

"What?" Natsu exclaimed.

"I said I can do it, I know how to play the piano so if you gave me the sheet music, maybe I can accompany you in this" Lucy explained.

"You'd do that for me?" Natsu asked.

"Of course, anything for you" Lucy said as she moved closer to him and gave him a kiss.

"So you were hiding your violin skills from your friends?" A deep voice questioned. Lucy and Natsu jumped at the sudden question to find his dad standing at the door frame.

"HOW LONG WERE YOU THERE???" Natsu yelled.

"For the last 5 minutes of you talking" Igneel answered, "I never knew you kept it a secret from them"

"Hey, I had to practice, if I told them, they might bother me because violin playing is not something they would see me do" Natsu explained.

"Fair enough, you two have fun practicing for the talent show" Igneel ended, leaving the two.

"We will" Lucy replied, "How about next week, we go to my place so we can practice since I can't really carry a piano"

"Sure thing" Natsu agreed.

Time went by and the rest of the group were confused as to why in some cases, Lucy would join Natsu or just not worry about the situation anymore. As the day the talent show came winding in, the group watched the performances that were being shown. There were things like magic acts, dances, singing, band playing and acrobatic tricks. Gray noticed that Natsu and Lucy weren't in the crowd with them and decided to ask.

"Hey, has anyone seen Natsu or Lucy?" Gray asked.

"Not at all" Levy replied.

"Haven't seen them" Jellal added.

"Not too sure" Juvia stated.

"Where could they be?" Erza questioned.

"Beats me" Gajeel answered.

"And now our next performance, a hand written musical piece by Natsu Dragneel and playing with him is Lucy Heartfilia" the announcer spoke out.

"WAIT WHAT???" the group cried out only to get shushed.

The curtains opened to reveal Lucy sitting in front of a piano and Natsu standing with his violin. The two got into a ready position and began playing the piece. (I do not own this video, go check out this channel. I only put this here so that you can imagine them playing)

The sound of the music was both beautiful and strong. Everyone in the crowd loved the sound of it. The way Natsu played the violin elegantly and how Lucy kept up on the piano. The group then realised what they were doing the past month. Once they finished, the two bowed and the crowd applauded.

Later

"Ok, the judges have made their final vote, and the winner of the talent show is... NATSU DRAGNEEL AND LUCY HEARTFILIA" the announcer called out.

Everyone in the crowd cheered and celebrated for the couple. The two couldn't be happier right now. Natsu and Lucy gave each other a quick kiss before going up and obtaining their trophy. Once the show ended and everyone was outside, the group congratulated the two.

"Congratulations Natsu and Lucy, I never knew you played the violin" Levy exclaimed.

"Well, I kept it a secret because I needed time to practice" Natsu replied.

"If I knew you could play an instrument, I would've assumed you played something loud like a trumpet" Gray stated.

"I play that too" Natsu answered, taking Gray by surprise.

"It was a wonderful performance, I'm proud of both of you" Erza told them.

"Thank you Erza, it means a lot" Lucy thanked.

"Shall we head to the café and celebrate?" Jellal suggested.

"YES" everyone agreed. As they walked off, Natsu and Lucy kissed each other again. With a new found edition to their relationship, the both of them will be playing a lot more music.
