A blonde girl whipped her tears from her face after her song she had just preformed in her apartment. It's been years since the girl sang, and she needed the practice.
She looked at her clock and her eyes widened, "I'm late!"
She ran out the door with her things and to her new school.
"Hey Laxus!" The blonde yelled at her brother.
"Hey, Lucy! Why are you late?" Laxus asked.
"Um, well. I was, you know?" The girl, now known as Lucy, told him.
Laxus immediately understood what she meant. "Oh, gotcha. Now go to your class before your late!" Laxus said.
She nodded her head and ran to her class, which she surprisingly got there right before the bell rang, making her sigh in relief.
"Ms. Heartfilia, it's a good thing you showed up now. Mind introducing yourself?" Her teacher, ms Vermillion, said.
She nodded and said, "my name is Lucy Heartfilia, step-sister of Laxus Dreyar. It's great to meet you all!".
"Okay now, can you sit next to Natsu, please? Natsu raise your hand," Ms. Vermillion said.
"Of course!" She said to the teacher.
During class, Lucy tried desperately to pay attention, but the person she sat next to found the class boring so he decided to bug the girl.
She turned to him, giving him a glare and said, "Natsu! Will you please shut up! I'm trying to learn!"
"But Lucy~ I'm bored!!!" He whispered back.
She continued to do her best to ignore him and listen to the lesson.
Lunch time finally rolled around and Lucy had grabbed her lunch, now looking for somewhere to sit.
"Lucy!" A voice Lucy could recognize had said.
Lucy turned around. She was met with surprise as she saw who the voice came from. "Levy!" Lucy exclaimed, seeing her best friend.
"I didn't know you were coming here!" She had said when Lucy walked over.
Lucy gave a short, sweet, laugh and said, "Laxus didn't say anything? Weird.. he was excited when I said I wanted to come here."
"Of course he was," Levy said, then laughed. "Anyway, come meet my friends!"
Levy dragged the poor blonde to a table where her friends sat.
"You know Gajeel, of course. But that's Erza, Jellal, Wendy, Romeo, Juvia, Gray, Mira, Lisanna and," she introduced.
"Natsu," the two said at the exact same time, making them both laugh.
"How'd you know?" Levy asked.
"He's in my first two classes," Lucy answered.
Levy nodded, now understanding.
"Guys, this is Lucy! She's my best friend!" Levy told them.
"Hey, Lucy!" The group said.
"Hi," Lucy smiled at the friendly-looking group.
Lucy sat next the red head who went by the name Erza.
"Hello, Lucy. I'm Erza, the one who makes sure these two idiots don't fight," she said, pointing at Natsu and Gray.
Lucy giggled. "That sounds like Gray."
"Hey! No fair Lucy!" Gray said.
"You two know each other?" The girl with long, blue hair named Wendy, questioned.
Lucy nodded. "Childhood friends actually."
"Our parents knew each other, and always wanted us to at least date. We told them 'no! That's weird! We're only friends!' Actually, Lucy always replied with 'ew, gross! I don't want to date Gray!' And man I was offended." Gray said.
"And I still stand by that," Lucy snickered.
"Hey! I'm not that bad!" Gray retorted.
"Yeah, sure," she sassed.
"Oh wait! Do you still sing?" Gray asked, remembering what happened in their childhood.
"Well, duh. I do go here," Lucy joked around with him.
"No, I mean, like, in front of people. Like you used too," Gray asked again.
"Er... I haven't in a while." She replied.
"Sing for us?" He pleaded.
Lucy shook her head, "no way!"
"Come on Lu-Chan! Your the best singer I've ever heard!" Levy said.
"Hey!" Lisanna said.
"Sorry Lis-Chan, but you have to hear her sing. She's honestly better than the whole school," Levy said back.
The whole group turned to Lucy.
She sighed, "fine."
The group cheered.

'Oh damn. I've been feeling something for you lately. And I'm trying so hard, to just stay cool. Oh man. I think I might be going crazy. Cause all I really really want, is to be with you.'
'And I'm like, ooh ooh ooh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh. We're saying we're just friends, but thinking your my man. Ooh ooh ooh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh. And maybe if you knew. Hey! I say I'm doing alright, I'm doing just fine, but I'm scattered, scattered. And I cry, when your not around, because it matters, matters. Dreaming of your kisses, in the night time. Knowing what I'm missing, I feel like. Hey! I say I'm doing alright, I'm fine, but I'm scattered, we're just friends.'
'Ooh ooh ooh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh. Mmm. Oh no. I don't wanna be the one with answers. Because I sorta wanna know, what girl you'll choose. And no! The thought of her being your private dancer is just a little to much for me to chew.
And I'm like. Ooh ooh ooh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh. I say that I'm alright, but cry on the inside. Ooh ooh ooh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh. I wish you were my man. Hey! I say I'm doing alright, I'm doing just fine, but I'm scattered, scattered. And I cry, when your not around. Cause it matters, matters. Dreaming of your kisses, in the night time. Knowing what I'm missing, I feel like. Hey! I say I'm doing alright, I'm fine, but I'm scattered, we're just friends.'
Ooh, ooh. Yeah, I'm scattered, we're just friends. Just friends. So I stay awake, I don't wanna be dreaming. Carouse my heart aches when I wake, it's deceiving. Why, oh why? Can't it be you and I. Hey, I say I'm doing alright, I'm fine. Hey! I say I'm doing alright, I'm doing just fine, but I'm scattered, scattered. And I cry, when your not around. Cause it matters, matters. Dreaming of your kisses, in the night time. Knowing what I'm missing, I feel like. Hey! I say I'm doing alright, I'm doing just fine, but I'm scattered, scattered. And I cry when your not around, because it matters, matters. Dreaming of your kisses, in the night time, knowing what I'm missing. And I feel like, hey! I say I'm doing alright, I'm fine. But I'm scattered, we're just friends.'
Lucy finished the song, now out of breath and a little freaked out due to her singing twice the day. Not only were her new found friends cheering, the whole cafeteria was.
"Oh my gosh! Lu! That was so good!" Levy said.
She looked at her friends and offered a small smile.
"I knew this was a good idea!" Gray said back.
"Levy was right! Lucy is the best singer ever," Natsu said, cheering.
Lisanna was furious.
She grit her teeth at the thought of Lucy stealing Natsu from her.
She quickly linked arms with Natsu, because they were already together.
She pouted at him, "even me?"
Natsu looked at Lisanna, "sorry Lis, even you."
The girl, now more mad then before, had one thought in mind, Lucy was going to pay.
Lucy blushed at all the compliments she was getting, not used to all the attention on her.
"Your so good Lucy!"
"Wow, Lucy! I love your voice!"
"Oh my gosh, isn't her voice just to die for? I'd pay to hear her sing!"
Those were only a few of the sea of compliments she was getting.
Everybody finally calmed down, but during the whole thing, Lucy noticed Lisanna get mad over something that Natsu said.
They all sat down and still talked about Lucy's singing.
"Where's Lisanna?" Lucy asked, trying to change the subject. She hated the fact that all the attention was on her.
They looked around, "huh, she must have left." Mirajane said.
"I'll look for her," Lucy volunteered, hoping to get out of there.
"Your the same Lucy I've always known," Gray said.
"Is that a bad thing?" Lucy asked, tilting her head.
Gray shook his head.
The two laughed, but Lucy soon after got up to look for the missing girl.
She was walking down the hallway when suddenly a boy who was around her age, but taller got in her way. He had orange hair, glasses and wore a suit. Everyone knew him as Loke, and if you needed information on anyone in the school, he'd be the one you turn to.
"Um, excuse me, sir, your in my way," Lucy said, being as polite as possible.
"Well miss, I'm Loke. Why don't I escort you through the school? I heard your little performance, and may I say, your voice is as beautiful as you," Loke said.
"Uh, thanks. But I really need to find my friend. Can you please move?" She asked again.
"I'll help you, who are you looking for?" He asked
She sighed, for what seemed to be the tenth time today. "I'm looking for Lisanna."
His bangs covered his eyes and he said, "I wouldn't do that of I were you." The man then turned around and left Lucy all alone.
"Okay then..." Lucy said, dragging out the y in okay.
Deciding to ignore what he said, looked for the girl until she felt someone grab her arm and make her turn around.
She smiled once she say it was Lisanna, "hey, Lisanna! I was looking for you!"
"Well, I was looking for you! You blond bimbo!" She said harshly.
"Is... is there something wrong, Lisanna?" Lucy asked the once innocent girl.
"Look, I don't care if you steal my friends, but steal my Natsu, and your so dead!" She said back.
"I really don't know what your talking about," Lucy said, her voice shaking a bit. "I never planned on it!"
"Good," she pumped her shoulder with Lucy's as she walked away, smirking.
Once Lisanna was gone, Lucy couldn't help but run into the nearest bathroom and cry.
"It... it's happening again," Lucy managed to say to herself. "It's just like... like Sabertooth." She held onto her shoulders as she cried, making sure to lock the door to the stall she was in.
"Next thing you know, I'll be left with no friends," she let out an ugly sob. "No, please... I don't... I don't want to move again... Please..."
She continued to sob, but tried to stop herself as she heard the door open.
It was quiet for a while until Lucy accidentally let out another cry.
"Lu-Chan?!" Levy asked, surprised. "Is that you?"
"Yeah... yeah it's me," Lucy managed to stutter out. She cautiously opened the stall door to see Levy, Mira, Erza, Wendy and Juvia standing there.
"Who did this to you?!" Erza said, angry.
"If I told you, you would never believe me," Lucy sniffled.
"Lucy, you can trust us," Mirajane smiled.
"After a moment of hesitation, Lucy said, "okay," then told them what happened.
Mira shook her head, looking down disappointed. Erza's fists turned white while the other turned to each other, all thinking the same thing.
Lucy's eyes wandered down to the floor, and she sighed, "I'm sorry. I knew... I knew I shoud've kept my mouth shut."
She dashed out of the bathroom, trying to get out of the school, when she accidentally bumped into Natsu, who was with all the boys.
"Lucy?" Natsu questioned, the surprise evident in his voice. "What happened?"
Laxus walked up to Lucy, picking her off the ground gently, and looking pissed that someone hurt his sister.
"What happened?!" He questioned, not hiding his anger at all.
After Lucy reluctantly told the story for the second time, Laxus glared at Natsu. "I told you to stay away from the her, Natsu. Now she's going to pay."
Lucy shook her head and looked at him with pleading eyes, "please don't. it'll only make things work."
Laxus sighed, "fine."
Suddenly, the girls from the bathroom all came running towards Lucy, yelling her name, which made her flinch.
"We're really sorry that we made it seem as if we were mad at you!" Juvia exclaimed.
"Yeah Lucy! We were never mad at you! It was Lisanna we were mad at!" Wendy added on.
"This isn't the first time Lisanna did something like this," Levy told her.
"Really?" Lucy questioned. "Thank goodness. You guys really are the best. Thank you!"
"Time to deal with Lisanna," Erza said, a dark aura surrounding her.
The other girls nodded in agreement, but Natsu stepped in, "I'll deal with her. Technically it is my fault that this happened, and she is my girlfriend, so I'll deal with it."
With that said, Natsu walked away, in search of the white haired girl.
"You alright, Lucy?" Gray asked, worried.
She nodded, giving a half-hearted smile, "I was a bit afraid it'd all happen again."
Gray walked up to her and ruffled her hair, "as if I'd let that happen.\'
"I wouldn't either, Lucy!" Levy told her.
Lucy smiled softly at the two, "thank you."
Everybody smiled right back at her.
