Chapter Four: Aquarius

Just so you know, I have my own twists and turns to make this story interesting. I don't want to recreate Rapunzel. Yes, this story is about Rapunzel, but it's going to be told in a different way. I came up with a very interesting plot, so I really hope you like it.

~~~
Natsu's POV:
"So, why do you have such long hair? Why don't you cut it?" I asked. We were walking around the forest with no specific destination. Lucy shrugged her shoulders.
"In all honesty, I like my long hair. It can be annoying from time to time, but I don't want to cut it. Who knows? It might help me in the near future." We ventured through the forest and stumbled through a lonely pond. We decided to take a short rest and sat near the water.
"I like her hair. It's so soft and I sometimes use it as a blanket," Petunia said as she snuggled into Lucy's hair.
"I still think you should cut it. Don't get me wrong, it suits you, but it shouldn't be a burden to you. You can have long hair, but not so long that it touches the ground. Trust me, it helps immensely," I said as I examined her golden hair.
"Where do you live, Natsu?" Lucy asked, trying to change the subject.
"I live in Magnolia. I don't really like it there. I've seen some horrible things and it bothers me to just even look at it. The sick and poor are trying to survive, but in the end, I know they'll never make it. That's why I want to help them as much as I can, but I don't have the resources to do so," I said with a glum expression.
"Magnolia? Isn't that where the prince lives? I didn't know it was a real place," Petunia said.
"It is, but it's horrible. If you saw what it's like with your own eyes, you can't help, but feel bad for these people."
"Hey, I'm sure you'll figure out a way to help the people," Lucy said.
"Save me..."
"What was that?" I looked around the area and couldn't find the source of that voice. I looked at Lucy and she seems to have heard it too. Petunua meowed, knowing we were not alone.
"Save me..."
"Did you hear that? I don't get it. Who needs saving?" Petunia asked. I looked at the water and saw small bubbles rising from the pond.
"Save me..."
"Lucy, look. The pond is bubbling," I said as I pointed to the bubbling water. I went nearer to the pond and slowly placed my hand into the water. Lucy did the same as well.
Lucy's POV:
It happened all so quickly. Nothing was pulling us, but there was a strong force reeling us into the water. I couldn't see anything. Everything was pitch black. The only source of light I could find was in the center of the pond.
I swam as fast as I could to the light. I looked closely and it looked like a written parchment. There was a hand placed on my shoulder and I looked back to see Natsu there as well.
"Lucy, you can breathe. It's abnormal, but the water doesn't seem to have any affect on me," Natsu said as he poked one of my cheeks.
"Hey, stop that!" I exclaimed. There was a loud echo when I shouted. It startled me for a second.
"Scared of a little echo, Lucy?" I crossed my arms and huffed in annoyance.
"I've never heard an echo before. I was trapped in a tall tower, remember?" I faced my attention towards the glowing parchment paper.
"What does it say?" Natsu asked.
__________
To my dearest parents,
I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I was trying to save my sister. I thought I was doing the right thing. But, in the end, it didn't matter. I know we both died. Died in different deaths. Don't be heartbroken. I want you guys to keep living. Mother, I know you can't have another baby, but I want you to stay strong and move forward. Father, I know you always wanted a son, but you got two girls instead. It must've been hard to accept us, but you've treated me like I was the most precious thing in the world and I'm grateful for that. This doesn't feel like a letter. It feels like I'm saying goodbye. I don't want to say goodbye. Not just yet. But, I can't change my fate. It's beyond our power. I'll just pray that this letter reaches to you...
From your precious daughter,
Aquarius
__________
"Natsu. This is so sad. She died. How did she die?" I was in the water, so no tears were visible through my naked eye. I was weeping without shedding a single tear.
"We need to help her, Lucy. Someone needs saving and I believe the person who needs to be saved is Aquarius."
"But, how do we save her? There's just an apology letter in the middle of nowhere."
"Then, save the letter. If we can't save her, we can save the apology she wanted to give to her parents." I gave him a small nod and hesitantly touched the letter. It began glowing brighter and brighter. I covered my eyes and a shock of energy went through my body.
[THE MEMORY OF AQUARIUS]
"Virgo! Where are you?" A blue-haired girl shouted. She was walking through the ominous forest to try and bring her little sister back. It was Aquarius.
"Take her somewhere safe. We can't have anybody find her. We can sell her to those perverts and make a lot of money."
Aquarius couldn't help, but eavesdrop on the conversation. She hid behind a tree and saw two identical twins handing over a pink-haired girl to a mysterious man. It was her sister, Virgo.
"I'll just take her to the other girls. You knocked her out pretty good. Don't think she'll wake up till next morning," the strange man said, taking off on his horse with Virgo on his hands. Aquarius couldn't take this any longer and chased after her sister.
"Let go of Virgo! She doesn't deserve this!" Aquarius shouted as she kept on running. The two men smiled maliciously at the young girl and seized the opportunity to capture her.
Aquarius knew she wasn't good at running, but she was persistent to get Virgo back. However, the two brothers were able to get their hands on her and took her back to their carriage. Before she could struggle to break free, one of the men tied her arms back, while the other tied her feet. They both threw her onto the wagon and examined Aquarius's body.
"What do you say we do with her, big brother?" The man with the eyepatch asked. The other man was playing around with his hook.
"We could keep her to ourselves. Make her our little... toy..." The two brothers laughed, while Aquarius looked disgusted. The younger brother placed his filthy hands on her breasts and groped it. Adeline groaned in response and bit his hand, causing him to pull away.
"Toy with me? I'd rather die than lose my virginity to the likes of you!" Aquarius said as she spat at the younger brother. The younger brother looked mad and slapped her across the face.
"Too feisty. Better to give her what she wants. If she wants to die, she can die in this very pond," the older brother said. The two men carried Aquarius and walked to the very deep pond. They were about to throw her into the middle of the water, until she finally spoke.
"Wait! Please, please, I'm begging you. You can drown me for all I care, but please, don't hurt Virgo. She is loved by many people and it would break their hearts if they found out she was dead. All I'm asking is that you spare my sister's life. She's younger and she deserves the chance to live longer. So, please, don't kill my little sister," Aquarius said as tears sprawled over her enchanting, pale face.
"It's a shame that you're so beautiful. Don't worry, your sister will be safe for the time being. We're not going to kill her. She's our little merchandise. You'll see her again soon." The brothers laughed sinisterly and threw Aquarius into the water to drown. Aquarius couldn't do anything. Her hands and feet were tied, preventing her from swimming to the surface. She watched as she went deeper into the pond. The only thing she could do was close her eyes and remember the great memories she had with her family.
"Mother, Father, and Virgo... I'm so sorry... Please forgive me... I couldn't save anybody...
Not even myself..."
[END OF MEMORY]
The memory soon faded and the water was not breathable anymore. I could feel myself getting transported out of the water. I shot out of the water and took a deep breath. I searched everywhere for Natsu, but he was nowhere in sight.
I made it out of the pond and saw Natsu lying unconsciously on the grass with Petunia. I went to his aid and checked to see if he was still breathing. His breathing was surprisingly low.
"What happened to you guys? Last time I saw you, you and Natsu were brought into the pond. I tried looking for you guys, but I wasn't able to find you. I really thought you were dead, but Natsu sprang out of the water and landed here. Isn't that cool?"
"No, not cool! He needs air! How do I give him air?" I asked in a panicked tone.
"I know! Give some of your air to him!" Petunia answered. I didn't want to, but I used all the courage I could to try and fill him up with air. I was about to make lip contact with him, until he started coughing out the excess water in his lungs. I backed away from him to let him have some space.
"Wait, what happened?" He asked in between coughs. I couldn't contain the happy feeling inside me and dove in for a hug. I thought for sure he was about to die.
"Mister, it's not nice to scare people like that. You almost scared me to death," Petunua said as she wiggled her tail.
"Glad your safe," I whispered. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer. Even while wet, his body was still warm.
"Thank you..."
"Huh?" I looked around and saw a girl with blue hair standing on top of the water. She flew towards me and gave me a sincere smile. She must be Aquarius.
"Save my sister..."
"Aquarius, how do we save your sister? Where did your sister die?" Natsu asked. She pointed to the path that leads right.
"She rests above the cliff... Save her..."
"Wait! Is there anyway we can save you? Aren't you dead? I'm so sorry this had to happen to you," I said. She shook her head and went back to the center of the pond. Aquarius faced us for one last time.
"I'm already saved..."
As she finished her sentence, light began to surround the pond. Natsu and I covered our eyes to avoid getting blinded by the strong brilliance. Once the light was gone, I looked back and saw no sign of Aquarius again...
"I have to save Virgo. That's her sister's name." I started walking to the direction Aquarius pointed, but was immediately stopped when a hand caught my wrist. I turned back and saw Natsu with a serious look in his eyes.
"You're not going to save Virgo," Natsu said sternly. I tried to release myself from his grip, but it was too tight.
"Yes, I am! Didn't you hear what Aquarius said? She wants her sister saved and I'm going to do it." Natsu hand's tightened.
"Not you, we are going to save Virgo together. You're going to need my help if you're going to rescue her. Plus... I don't want to lose you," Natsu said as a tiny blush formed across his face. I stopped struggling and smiled at him.
"Thank you, Natsu."
"Yeah, yeah, he's a charming prince that would do anything for the one he loves. I get it people. Could you hurry up already? Virgo needs our help and there's no time for public display of affection!" Petunia scolded. I gave her a pat on the head and giggled.
"Of course, Petunia..."
Next Update: When I have time...
Petunia, leave the NaLu moment alone. Lol. I know this is not what your expecting in my story, but I really like where this is going. I don't want my story to be predictable, because it's going to get boring, since almost everyone knows what Rapunzel is.
