I'm re-writing these because my writing used to suck lol

  You sat on a rock near the bank of a river. You stared at the pale blue sky and watched the clouds scuttle along. The sun was shining it's rays down on your skin. You sighed to yourself.

You went on a job today. You had to stop a group of bandits from raiding a town. It was your job to catch the leader but you failed miserably. The leader managed to get away from you. All of you got yelled at by the mayor AND didn't get paid. It was your chance to finally get noticed by Natsu, since you've had a crush on him for a while now.

You weren't sure what you liked exactly about Natsu. Perhaps it was kindness, or how he cares about everyone in the guild. He always manages to put a smile on someone's face, despite the circumstances. He gives people hope. He was your hope.

You were hesitant at first, but you eventually got the courage to ask Lucy before you guys went on the job about him.

"I have a weird question. Do...you like Natsu?"

Lucy shook her head. "I don't like him. Maybe as friend but that's it," she said, "why are you asking?"

"I may have a crush on Natsu. I wanted to impress him but I wasn't sure if I should," You mumbled. You felt your cheeks start to get hot. You avoided eye contact with Lucy because you felt embarrassed.

"Natsu doesn't seem like the type of guy who cares about how strong you are. You're apart of Fairy Tail, so he cares about you. I'm not sure though. Give it a go though!"

"..Thanks Lucy."

You stared down at the ground. Your bottom lip quivered and you willed your tears to go away. I'm just stupid. All I did was mess things up. You then let out a chuckle.

"Natsu always fights with Gray. What was I thinking? Fire and ice just don't mix,"

Natsu was walking with Lucy after you left. You told them that you were going to go home, but you seemed really down about something. He just wasn't sure why.

"Lucy? Why was (f/n) looking so down?" He asked.

Lucy rolled her eyes and smacked him on the back of his head. "You're so oblivious sometimes. Why don't you go and ask her?" she said "I'm going to head on home so I can take a shower,"

"Natsu you really are an idiot though. It was pretty obvious why," Happy added.

"Okay then! I'll go find her," He rubbed his head from the smack Lucy gave him.

It was sunset. He watched with an unwavering gaze, as a fiery red orb of light slowly sank beneath the horizon. The sky was dyed first orange, then red, then dark blue. It was then painted with stars and they illuminated the sky.

   Natsu looked around, and saw a figure sitting on a rock. He saw a mop of (h/c) hair. He walked up to her, and then realized she's been crying.

"Hey what's wrong (f/n)?" He asked you softly. You turned around and saw his expression was full of worry. You wiped the tears from your eyes. Your eyes were now red and puffy.

  "It was because I messed up with the job today. If I was just less stupid he would've not gotten away," Your bottom lip quivered. I don't wanna cry again. Not again.

  "It's fine! We'll all just go on another job together," He said flashing you a grin.

  "It's not oka-"

  You were cut off by a loud shout. "WATCH OUT!" Happy screamed.

    A man came lunging for you, and you dodged it just in time. You fell to the ground and Natsu quickly helped you back up. You got a better look at him and realized it the bandit you were chasing from before.

  "Well well, we got the Ice Fairy (your nickname) and Salamander," The man chuckled.

"Why are you here?" Natsu asked.

"We want the girl, she is powerful, not to mention beautiful," He licked his lips and stared at you provocatively. You cringed at the sight of him

"There is no way you'll take (f/n) Not on my watch!" Natsu shouted. He looked at you. "Hurry up and run while you still can."

You shook your head. "Let me fight. Just this once. I'll handle him." Natsu hesitated, but then nodded. He stepped back.

"Ice Dragon Iron Fist!" You shouted. He dodged it.

   You guys kept throwing punches, but suddenly your fist was slamming into his face while his sunk into your stomach. Blood pooled in his mouth as you gagged. You both stumbled apart for a brief second to catch your breaths before diving back at each other, eyes narrowed in determination.

  You dodged his fist and came up with your own. "Ice Dragon Punch!" You shouted.

   For a brief instant, his cerulean blue eyes widened before he managed to tilt his head back and slam it into mine. Stars burst in my vision but you shook it off, blinding throwing a sloppy kick.

   The man stepped back, easily evading the kick. "Is that all you got?" he said, smirking infuriatingly at me. You growled and threw yourself at him, changing direction at the last minute. Your blood hummed in your veins as determination and anger took over.

"Ice Dragon Wing Attack!" You shouted. He got hit and he gagged. She came from behind and hit him again. She kept throwing punches, and was relentless about it. He fell to the ground and tried getting back up.

   "Ice Dragon Roar!" You shouted. The man's knees gave out and he fell to the ground. He was passed out. You also fell to the ground. You winced in pain, because a bruise was now forming on your knee.

   Why were you protecting me? You should've hid," Natsu said.

     "Natsu, I always was watching you from far. You trained and got stronger. You protected me. You made me feel happy. I wanted to work hard so I can be strong. When I thought all was lost you helped me, I wanted to work hard and catch up with you. I wanted to stand next to you," Your cheeks dusted pink from the confession.

Your legs and butt are no longer on the ground. Natsu hoists you up in the air bridal style, hooking one arm under your knees while careful not to touch your abrasion, and the other holding your shoulder.

"Thank you (f/n). You're really awesome you know? I care about you too,"

You mean so much to me alright?
