The Snowy Mountains (Jerza)

Erza's POV.

I was heading back home from a S-Class mission. I was currently walking through some mountains. It was late winter, the snow was knee deep, and it didn't help matters that I was in a blizzard.

"Oi, is someone out there!?" somebody called out to me.

My eye's opened wide, "Jellal?" I whispered to myself. 'I wish, but he's with Meredy and Ultear what's the chance he would be here...' I glumly thought to myself.

Then the man started to come into view. Then I saw his eyes open wider in unison with mine "Erza!/Jellal!" We both cried. I began to move quicker towards him this would be a great opportunity to ask him about his 'fiancé'.

He smile at me "What are you doing up here?

"Well I could ask you the same." I teased

He laughed a bit, "Well, Meredy, Ultear and I discovered an evil guild near here."

I smiled at him, "And I just finished a mission, Jellal." As I finished a gust of wind blew by, and I must have looked cold, because he wrapped his cloak around me.

"You looked cold" Jellal commented "The storm is going to get worse, why don't you stay in the cabin with us?"

"Sure" I said with a fluter of my heart. The walk to the cabin was rather quiet, until I brought up a 'little' question. "So, how's your fiancé?" I asked.

"Err..."

Ha! I knew I'd catch him up with that. Honestly, Jellal could be stupid at times. I knew he was just as much in love with me as I was with him, but he was trying to punish himself for what he had done years ago. Something I, along with the rest of Fairy Tail had forgiven him for. "Well?" I inquired.

"We...uh, broke up a few months ago." He lied. "Oh look we're here!" Jellal said glad to get off the subject of his made up fiancé.

Before we entered the cabin I put on a rather convincing face which cried the exact thing I said next "why, I didn't know! I'm sorry to here that."

"Uh...yeah..." he responded

"Oi, Meredy, Ultear, I'm back!" Jellal called entering the cabin. It was much larger than it appeared form the outside.

Meredy ran out to greet him "hi, Jellal! Oh, I see you brought a guest!" She smirked at a slightly blushing Jellal.

I smiled at the girl "hi Meredy."

"Hi Erza." Ultear said walking out of the other room. "What brings you here? well besides Jellal, I mean." She smirked.

I could see they wanted Jellal and I together very much. I was going to interrogate Meredy and Ultear later. Maybe I'd get some ideas from them. Then a timer went off.

"Come on supper's done!" Meredy said pulling Jellal and I in their little dining room in the kitchen.

Ultear pointed out where to sit. Then she glanced at an already sitting Jellal and said, "Jellal, shouldn't you pull out the chair for Erza?" I swore she had an evil look in her eyes.

Jellal blushed as he stood up. He pulled out the chair for me. Now my face was also red.

"Here"

"Th-thank you"

"So," Meredy said "have you told Erza anything about your fiancé?"

Jellal dropped his fork.

I thought this would be as good a time as any to began playing along. "Yes, isn't a shame how they broke up?" I was struggling not to laugh.

They looked surprised.

"Excuse us a moment" Ultear said standing up with Meredy. They grabbed Jellal and dragged him into the other room.

Jellal's POV.

Crap. I should've known Erza would've found out it was a lie. She probably knew the whole time, of course that idea horrified me. She probably hated me! But I deserved that. She's to good for me. Plus, why would someone that perfect like me? I can't love her. I don't deserve to love her.

"Earthland to Jellal! Earthland to Jellal!" Meredy cried waving her hand in front of my face, startling me from my trance.

"I see you lied to Erza again." Ultear sighed. "Just tell her already."

"You know she's to good for a stupid, pathetic, fugitive like myself. She probably hates me anyway." I said coldly

"You forgot cowered." Meredy informed me taking a bite out of a role she grabbed off the table. That's when I saw a shocked Erza standing by the door separating the two rooms.

Erza's POV.

I couldn't believe it. I knew he was punishing himself, but he really thought of himself so poorly? 'Oh Jellal...'

"We'll leave you two alone." Ultear said shooting a smirk in my direction. The two shut the door as they walked out to give Jellal and I some privacy.

I walked up to him and laid my hand on his shoulder. My heart was probably beating twice the normal speed it was supposed to. "Jellal..." I said softly and almost inaudible while looking him straight in the eye. "oh Jellal..." I'm sure I seemed like an entirely different person. Nervous, yet at the same time Calm. Being at a complete loss of words, with so many things to say. And most of all...in love. "You're not stupid, or pathetic, and you've atoned for your crimes a hundred times over. I don't hate you, Jellal. I couldn't hate you."

He looked at me in shock like he couldn't believe it. "You're just saying that thinking it would make me fell better." He said in that stupid self pity crap tone of his. Oh that just pissed me off.

I stopped looking him in the eye and clenched my fists tears of furry threatening to spill. I swore I heard Ultear say something about strangling him. A tear fell from my good eye as I look back at him. "Damnit! Stop with all this self pity!" I yelled at him more tears falling from my eye. "I do not hate you! I've forgiven you! Get over it! You were possessed it was not your fault! And I can't hate you because I love you! So stop being such an idiot!" I cried.

Jellal looked terrified "E-Erza" he stuttered as I fell into his arms sobbing. His arms tightened around me. "Why would someone as perfect as you like someone like me? After all I've done..."

"I don't know, but stop punishing yourself." I said quietly "I know you never had a fiancé, I knew the whole time. I can see right through you, Jellal, and I'm by no means perfect."

He was very embarrassed. "Y-you knew the whole time?"

"Yes."

Jellal lifted my head up. "Then I guess you know this too. Erza I love you." He moved his head closer to mine and just as we were about to kiss I passed him back

"I can't," I echoed what he said on the beach "I have a fiancé."

He had glared at me quizzaciously (in a mocking manner) "Touché" he said as our lips touched.

This was the best time I believe I will ever have in the snowy mountains.
