Comrades From The Past (Lily X Exceed Reader)

Lily stood at the top of a cliff in his small exceed form. He held a small bouquet of flowers as he looked at the sky.

"What is he doing?" Levy questioned. She and Gajeel were watching from behind a bush as Lily stood there, alone.

"He's waiting for her." Gajeel whispered.

"Who?" Levy questioned.

"An exceed. Her name is (Y/N). She and Lily used to be comrades in Edolas, but she left the royal army. Lily said it was because she believed what they were doing was wrong." Gajeel explained.

"They kept in contact all this time?" Levy gasped.

"No." Gajeel said. Levy looked at Gajeel in confusion. "They lost contact a while ago, but on our last job, the two ran into each other." Gajeel explained.

"Why did they lose contact?" Levy asked.

"I don't know..." Gajeel said as he watched his exceed stare at the sky.

"Pantha-Lily! Stop that!" A young girl exclaimed. She had (H/L), (H/C) hair, with matching ears. Her eyes were a sparkling (E/C) which shinned, along with her (S/C) skin in the sun light. She wore some sort of armour while holding a helmet in her arm.

"Come on (Y/N)! Lighten' up!" Lily said with a laugh as he flew around. You huffed. "How long are you going to keep that form up for?" Lily asked.

"Until I'm off duty!" You stated.

"Huh? What's that?" Lily questioned. You looked at where he was looking and saw a young boy in danger. "We have to help him!" Lily said as he dashed down to the boy.

"Lily! Wait!" You shouted as you flew after him. The young boy had fallen off a cliff and was falling fast, but luckily, Lily caught him in time in his arms. "Is he ok?" You asked as you finally caught up with Lily.

"Yeah. He's so young. Where are his parents?" Lily questioned.

"He's probably an orphan. Let's put him back." You said.

"If he's an orphan... We can't leave him!" Lily said.

"We can't take him back to Extalia! They class it as treason!" You gasped.

"I'm taking him." Lily said as he flew back to Extalia. You watched him fly away and bit your lip.

"Treason!" One of the exceeds shouted. "Humans are not allowed to be here!"

"Please my Queen. He almost died!" Lily said. The Queen looked at Lily sadly.

"I'm afraid, rules are rules." The Queen said. "Pantha-Lily, we're going to have to-!"

"Wait!" Someone shouted. All the exceeds looked to see you in your exceed form flying towards them in your normal clothes, which consisted of a (F/C) dress.

"What is it?" An exceed questioned.

"Don't... Don't punish Pantha-Lily! It was my idea!" You exclaimed.

"What? (Y/N) no!" Lily exclaimed.

"If you're going to exile him, then I'm going to!" You stated.

"Very well. (Y/N) and Pantha-Lily, you are hereby exiled from Extalia. You must leave now." The queen said. You nodded before flying away. Pantha-Lily flew after you.

"(Y/N) wait!" Lily exclaimed. You stopped in your spot and looked at him. "Why? Why did you do that?" Lily asked.

"I was on duty. I should take blame too since I should have stopped you." You stated.

"But your position. Everything you worked for." Lily said.

"It doesn't matter. Besides... I'm curious on what Edolas is like." You said with a smile.

Years later...

"What do you mean you're leaving?" Lily questioned. You were in a fancy room, in your human form, putting your belongings in your bag.

"This isn't right! What we're doing isn't right! Why can't there be guilds? Why can't people use magic?" You asked.

"(Y/N) look. I'm sure the King has a reason for this." Lily said.

"I'm going Lily, and you can't stop me!" You stated. Lily had a sad look in his eyes.

"But (Y/N)... I thought you wanted to see what Edolas was like..." Lily said.

"I saw it from Extalia and it looked amazing... But now it doesn't... I guess the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I'm going to Earthland... Goodbye Lily." You said as you zipped your last bag up, grabbed all your bags and then flew out of the window. Lily ran to the window as he watched you fly away.

"(Y/N) Wait! Don't go!" He shouted, but it was too late... You were gone.

Lily shook his head, getting rid of the thoughts of the past, when he heard a voice.

"Lily?" Lily turned around and saw you flying there in exceed form.

"(Y-Y/N)!" Lily gasped as he hid the flowers behind his back. "H-how long have you been there for?" He questioned.

"Well I've circled around you twice now and called your name four times." You stated.

"Ah, sorry about that." Lily said as a faint blush crept up on his cheeks and sweat ran down his forehead. "Oh, urm, these are f-for you. Someone from my guild, Mirajane, said I should bring them." Lily said as he handed you the bouquet of flowers. You blushed a little but smiled.

"Thanks Lily. That's really sweet of you." You said with a smile. The two of you sat down and talked. Talked about where you both have been in the time you haven't seen each other, what you've been doing and just having general conversations.

"Aw, it's so cute." Levy said.

"That's the 8th time you said that in the past hour shrimp!" Gajeel exclaimed. "That lovey dovey sap is ridiculous." Gajeel stated.

"Don't you have feelings for anyone Gajeel?" Levy questioned. Gajeel just looked away with a huff.

(Me: *appears and whispers* I ship it *Disappears*)

"Of cause not." Gajeel said. Levy rolled her eyes and continued to watch you and Pantha-Lily. Gajeel then glanced at her. (Me: *Starts playing Kiss the Girl from The  Little Mermaid)

"This was really fun Lily. I'm glad we got a chance to catch up." You said with a smile.

"Me too. It's been too long." Lily replied.

"See you tomorrow?" You asked.

"Well..." Lily said.

"Are you busy?" You questioned.

"W-would you like to go to a cafe tomorrow? Not as old comrades... But as a d-d-date?" Lily questioned. He looked at you and saw you staring at him, before your entire face turned bright red and steam exited through your cat ears. Your eyes began to spin as you fell back, but then Lily grabbed your shoulders. "(Y-Y/N)?! Are you ok?! (Y/N)! Speak to me!" Lily exclaimed as he shook you in panic.

"Brain. Can't process." You said.

"(Y/N)!"

"Well, that didn't end as I expected it to..." Levy said.
