It was a slow day at the guild. Most of the members were either on a job or too tired to start a fight. The sun had scorched Magnolia in a deadly heat that made even their resident dragon slayer slump in his seat.

Team Natsu had just gotten back from a two-week long mission and none of them were in the mood to start another one. Not even Lucy, who had just paid off her rent for the month.

Erza was sitting at the bar where her favorite piece of cake was placed in front of her. Gray was trying to escape Cana's grip as she tried to literally throw him onto Juvia.

As for the original Team Natsu, they sat together at one of the tables towards the back of the guild hall.

Lucy sat on one side with her nose buried in her new book from Levy. She was completely absorbed into the story, thus ignoring the annoyed dragon slayer. Natsu stared at her from across the bench. He rested his face in his folded arms and felt the wooden top of the table against his chin. Happy was asleep on the spot beside Natsu, mumbling about Charle and fish.

Soon Lucy unconsciously began to hum. It was an old lullaby her mother used to sing to her when she was just a little girl. It was soft at first, but then her tune became louder so that Natsu could clearly hear it.

His eyes widened at the familiar tune. He heard it before when he was with Igneel. After long days of training, he would curl up with Igneel as the old dragon sang him to sleep. It was the only song he knew. Natsu remembered Igneel saying he had learned it from a lovely couple in the forest many years back.

Lucy hadn't even been aware that she was humming the song until she heard Natsu's husky voice begin to sing.

"I'll swim and sail on savage seas, with ne'er a fear of drowning. And gladly ride the waves of life, if you will marry me."

She lifted her face up to have her eyes meet with Natsu's. His cheeks were dusted with a pink hue as he buried his face into his scarf.

Natsu took a pause before continuing, "No scorching sun, nor freezing cold will stop me on my journey." She had stopped humming and was staring at the teen. He could hear his voice slowly drifting out, "If you will promise me your heart..."

There was a moment of silence where Natsu was brewing in regret. She probably had no idea what he was singing and he just made a fool of himself. The tune was probably just coincidentally similar.

All these thoughts were blown away when Lucy's voice began, "-And love me for eternity." He lifted his head and look at his partner.

Both shared a grin as Natsu began humming the tune loudly, signaling for her to continue. "My dearest one, my darling dear, your mighty words astound me. But I've no need of mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me."

They switched their roles as Natsu suddenly stood up on the bench, gathering the guilds attention.

He ignored their curious stares as he pulled Lucy up and into his arms and sang loudly, "But I would bring you rings of gold, I'd even sing you poetry! And I would keep you from all harm, if you would stay beside me."

The pair danced around the guild hall and soon the members began to clap along to the beat of the song. Elfman cheered about how dancing was manly. Max and Reedus began playing on their instruments. Lucy giggled as Natsu spun her around and tried to twirl her.

She pushed him away and jumped onto one of the tables singing loudly, "I have no use for rings of gold. I do not want your poetry. I only want your hand to hold!"

She leaned forward and comically offered Natsu her hand, which he gladly took. Yanking her back down into his arms, he laughed heartedly, "I only want you near me!"

Alzack and Bisca soon ran next to the pair and began to dance as well. Next was Juvia dragging Gray onto the dance floor. Gajeel picked Levy up against her will and mumbled he will only dance because she insisted. Within moments, the whole guild was partnered and dancing to the sweet song.

"To love and kiss, to sweetly hold," They caroled in unison. Natsu's hands enveloped with the blonde's as they tip toed around the others. "For the dancing and the dreaming. For all life's sorrows and delights, I'll keep your love inside me!"

Mirajane and Lisanna partnered up and giggled at their friends' silliness. Everyone had a humongous smile plastered on their faces. Each person tried their best to keep from laughing too loudly.

Natsu and Lucy's hearts hammered in their ears as they sang,

"I'll swim and sail on savage seas, with ne'er a fear of drowning! And gladly ride the waves of life, if you will marry me!"

As the song finally stopped, Natsu dipped his partner and held her closely as her hair fell towards the ground below. They giggled through their heaving chests as the caught their breath.

The two's laughter slowly faded out as the stared into one another's eyes. Their faces growing unconsciously closer by the second.

"Natsu..."

"Luce..."

Lucy reached up and cupped his cheeks before pressing their lips together. They both melted into the kiss. They wish they could stay like this forever, that is until they heard the entire guild clapping.

The quickly broke apart once the remembered that they were in the middle of the very crowded guild hall. The room erupted into applause while some of the older members began whistling and hollering.

The couples cheeks burned as the avoided one another's gaze and honestly tried their very best to not look any of their friends' in the eye. Lucy knew that Levy and Mirajane would be giving her that knowing glance. She didn't even want to think about what face Cana was making.

"You know, Luce, you're a really good singer." Natsu interrupted their silence. He still wasn't looking at her until he heard her sweet laughter.

"Yeah, you too."
