42. Nash...talie
Nashi didn't quite know how to conduct herself in this environment. Multiple guys and sometimes girls came up to her and asked her to dance but she politely refused.
When the polite refusal didn't work, she just accidentally stomped on the person's foot real hard and that got them to scurry away. Speaking of feet, hers really hurt. Nashi was convinced that her shoes were made by the devil himself. She managed to stumble to the corner of the entire room which was surprisingly empty.
"Sorry Ul, I gotta ditch these monsters." She grumbled yanking the heels from her feet rather aggressively. When she finally took them off, she let out a breath of relief. With a pleased smile, her feet were now flat on the ground as they should be. Even though the floor was a little alarmingly sticky, it was better than being in those heels in her opinion.
Standing on the tip on her toes, she scanned to room from where she stood. It was too big and dim to locate Lilith from where she stood, plus with the sea of bodies crowding the area it was even harder to make out a face.
Nashi frowned. It was a lot harder than she thought it would be.
"It's official-" Nashi was knocked out of her thoughts by a voice she didn't recognise. "-whoever your date is, he's a lunatic."
She turned her head to see a man standing next to her in a dashing dark suit, brown hair slicked back and green eyes seemingly glowing in the dark light of the club. He looked at her with a warm friendly smile that made her heart speed up. He was quite literally hot, in her opinion. Nice build. Tall. And not to mention attractive.
"W-What?" She managed to choke out despite her frazzled nerves.
He chuckled at her embarrassment. "I'm saying that your date is a lunatic for leaving such a beautiful woman alone in a place like this."
"Ehhh!" Nashi almost fainted at her spot. She still wasn't used to boys noticing her or calling her beautiful. It was all too weird. "I don't have a d-date!" She blurted out shaking her head very furiously. Oh Mavis help her. She was certainly making a fool of herself.
"Oh..." The man said rubbing his chin. "Sorry I just assumed... well my name's Calix."
"I'm Nash-" Just as she was about to say her name, she remembered she was on a mission and that maybe giving her real name wasn't the best idea. She wasn't that dumb. "-talie." Inwardly cursing herself, she forced a smile on her face. "Yup, that's me... Nashtalie."
Calix raised his brow at the unusual name. "Nashtalie... interesting name." His words were dripping with suspicion and disbelief.
Nashi's eye twitched and she let out a weak laugh. "I know right. I guess my parents weren't in their right mind when they were naming me."
Calix shrugged. "Heh... well, Nashtalie... since you're here without a date." With a charming smile, he held out his hand to Nashi. "Would you like to dance? I promise I don't bite."
Nashi blinked in confusion. "You're asking me?"
He laughed again. "Of course, there's no one else here but you." Green eyes piercing into her brown ones, he offered his hand once again. "So what do you say?"
Nashi looked at his hand and then to his face blankly. Was this really happening? An attractive guy asking her to dance? This was definitely too weird. Even so, part of her was kind of thrilled. Maybe she could enjoy this a little bit.
"I guess, one dance wouldn't hurt."

Gale was not having a good time. At the corner of his eyes, he could see that people were avoiding him. It wasn't his fault that he inherited his dad's not-so-friendly looking face. It was a blessing and a curse. A blessing because not many unnecessary people would annoy him at the guild and while he was out and about. But a curse because when he actually wanted people to talk to or wanted people to talk to him, they'd avoid him like the literal plague... as they were doing now.
He had long since lost sight of his teammates. Part of him wanted to follow Nashi. Mavis knows, that girl wasn't the best decision maker at times. But reason kicked in and for them to get this mission over with as fast as possible, splitting up was the best decision. If Nashi ever got into a possibly dire situation, she was strong enough to get herself out of it anyways. She made up her lack of brain power with her impressive magical fighting skills.
Being in a nightclub with blaring music and questionable scents filling the room, left Gale's heightened senses temporarily disorientated. He had to rely on his eyes to spot any potential dealers or even Lilith herself. It was a pain in the ass seeing as no one in their right mind would commit a crime in an obvious manner.
"Hey scary fella!" A voice called out.
Gale rolled his eyes at the nickname. Seeing as there were no other guys around, he was certain that the voice was talking to him. He turned around to see a short guy grinning toothily up at him. The guy had spiky silver hair stuffed clumsily into a bright red backwards cap and a suspicious glint in his golden eyes. For a person so small, he wore pretty over-sized clothes.
"You talking to me?" Gale questioned with an unintentional scowl.
The guy buzzed with energy. "Well, of course. Do you see any other person with an ugly mug as scary as yours?" He said suddenly doing a weird flashy pose. His overbearing aura reminded Gale much of those annoying people at Blue Pegasus. He even had that weird sparkle on him that all Blue Pegasus members somehow conjured.
Gale glared at him. "That's big words coming from a guy as little as you, Tiny." He growled. Gale was pretty sure he could snap the guy like a twig.
The spiked haired guy narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. "I'll have you know, the ladies find me irresistibly cute."
"Yeah, like they'd find their baby brother cute." Gale smirked when the guy seemed pretty annoyed over his comment.
"So uncool, man." The guy shook his head. "And since you asked, the name is Dragon Lord." He announced smoothly doing yet another flashy pose.
Gale was utterly unimpressed. "First of all, I didn't ask and second, that's a stupid fake name."
"Stop pooping on my parade, seriously so uncool, man." Dragon Lord shook his head in disappointment once again. "I'll be famous one day and when that happens you'll wish you became my friend!"
"I doubt that'll happen." Gale droned out. Inwardly, he groaned. How did he end up with such an annoying person? He had to focus on the mission and this guy was distracting him. Somehow he had to escape this little weirdo.
"I'll marry the Princess as well." Dragon Lord proclaimed confidently with a smug smirk.
It was then that Gale actually laughed out loud. "You and the Princess?!"
Confidence suddenly gone, Dragon Lord's face flared red with anger. "Why're you laughing? Once I meet her, she'll fall in love with me for sure!"
"She has high standards." Gale said, matter of factly. "And I'm afraid you fall... short of them." He covered his mouth trying to stifle his laughter at the now glowering Dragon Lord in front of him.
"Don't talk about her like you know her. The beautiful Princess would never concern herself with a loser like you!"
Gale sighed. "Oh I wish... every time I see her she never leaves me alone." He shivered from the memories that flashed in his mind.
Dragon Lord eyes suddenly lit up in realisation. "Wait you actually know her?!" He yelled. Taking Gale by the shoulders, he jumped up and down in excitement. "You gotta introduce me to her! Finally it's my chance to meet my one and only love."
How could someone be so damn hyperactive? Gale thought to himself.
Gale shoved him away. "As if I'd introduce her to a tiny creep like you, Dragon Lord." He poked the guy on the forehead causing him to stumble back. But just like a piece of elastic, the spiky haired boy bounced back.
"Its actually Sammy. Dragon Lord is my street name." The spiky silver head revealed.
"Street name?" This guy was getting weirder by the second.
"Mhmm... They're in high demand right now but..." Sammy rummaged through his pockets before pulling out a small plastic bag with a strange purple substance in it. He held it out to Gale with a bright smile. "I'll give you some of the Boss' new product for free if you get me a meeting with the Princess!"
Gale's eyes widened. This guy was a dealer?!
___________
Ultear was positively peeved. With no luck in finding Lilith and guys deciding to feel her up as she tried to navigate through the club, she was reaching her breaking point. She wanted nothing more than to attack those shameless pervs but drawing unnecessary attention like that to herself was not a good idea.
She had to be discrete.
If I was a succubus in a nightclub, where would I be? Ultear thought to herself. Succubi revelled in mens' attention didn't they? So somewhere where there was a high concentration of guys would be the most likely place for Lilith to be.
The only problem was that Ultear didn't know where that was. She needed high vantage point so that she could overlook the club better. The closest thing she could see was a table. She didn't check whether anyone was sitting at said table, she just jumped right up on it and looked over the crowd. If the people on the table caused a scene, she'd just play it off as a drunken mistake or something anyways.
Just as she suspected there was a unusual number of men - in particular - crowding what looked like the VIP area. She needed to get there to see what all the fuss was about.
"Hey ditzy, get off the bloody table!" Someone yanked at her ankle and she went crashing onto the ground. Ultear groaned. Whoever did that was certainly going to die tonight.
Slowly, she picked herself up to her feet only to be met by an angry waitress. "Stand on the tables again and I'll get security to escort you out, Stupid girl." The waitress spat. "And I don't care if you're one of Lilith's girls, I will get you kicked out!"
Just as the waitress was about to leave, Ultear grasped her by the arm. "I'm sorry for standing on the table." She said whole heartedly. The waitress quirked a brow at the apology as she jerked her arms out of Ultear's grasp. "It's just I have to go meet Lilith but I don't know where to go... care to help?"
The waitress rolled her eyes. "Obviously the VIP area, you half wit." She hissed. "Don't you touch me with your dirty hands again." With that, the waitress shoved past Ultear rather aggressively back to the bar.
Ultear took a deep breath. She didn't particularly like being insulted but at least she had confirmed her theory on Lilith's location. She pressed her finger against her earpiece.
"Lilith is in the VIP area, everyone."
Little did the water mage know, one of her teammates had already found the brunette succubus.
