38. A Typical Fairy Tail Brawl
last filler guyyyyysss (((:
"Oh my Mav- Lily, stop making friends with the animals!" Luke shouted, his frustration growing with the dark haired girl.
"What's so bad about me making friends with the animals?" Lily retorted scrunching her face into a scowl; a scowl which matched that of her father and brother. She stroked the head of a stray black cat who purred against her touch. "I can do whatever I want." She puffed her cheeks as she turned her back from
"Every time you make friends with animals, they end up following us and that's annoying 'cause you start giving our food to it." Raiden said as he swiftly shooed away the cat away much to Lily's dismay. "Or you forget about it after a while and then me and Luke have to find a new home for the guy." He explained.
Lily's cheeks went red with embarrassment. "I- I guess you have a point." She whispered looking down at the ground guiltily. "I'm sorry."
Luke frowned at the sight of the girl being sad before glancing at Raiden. Raiden had the same look on his face. Neither boy liked seeing Lily anything but happy. With an inaudible sigh, the boys nodded at each other.
Luke swung his arm around Lily's shoulders, replacing his frown with an instant Dragneel grin. "If you want a pet so bad, me and Raiden'll just get you one, geez. No need to be all gloomy." He said mimicking Lily's pout to make fun of the girl.
Just as the words left his lips, Lily's eyes lit up. "Really? You guys would do that?" She beamed with a wide smile now spread across her lips.
"Uh huh." Raiden agreed with a shrug feeling absolutely in favour of the idea. "If it makes you happy."
"Yes yes yes!" Lily jumped onto both Luke and Raiden enveloping them into a tight hugs. "Thank you!" From behind, the boys high fived in accomplishment.
And so with a newly happy and energetic Lily beaming with joy, the trio continued their way back to the guild. For the past two weeks, they had been on a mission so now it was finally home time.
Lily was already happy, however as she skipped into the guild, she didn't expect her happiness to be increased tenfold.
Gale was finally home.
With an excited squeal, she raced to her brother who was at the bar drinking next to Alexis. "Gale!" She strangled him in a tight embrace; one which her brother returned equally. Gale couldn't help but let out an amused chuckle.
"Ah! So cute!" Alexis gushed, her irises replaced with hearts.
"Looks like they're finally back." Raiden said with a grin. He couldn't wait to show Storm some of the new magic attacks he'd learned.
Luke scanned the guild, looking for one particular pink headed freak; not his dad of course.
When he saw Lily jumping into the arms of her big brother, there was a sense of relief that washed over him. Not only relief but also giddiness. He really did miss his sister. Three months seemed almost like an eternity.
"Stripper!"
"Flame Brain!"
Ah, there she is. Luke thought, a gentle smile spread across his lips.
Just as he was going to attack his sister, a certain red head interrupted slicing her sword at him. Luckily Luke had good reflexes and swiftly evaded it.
"Hey!" He barked at his unwanted attacker, his face red with anger.
"I challenge you to a duel." Rose demanded pressing the sharp point of her sword at Luke's chest. Any harder and she would surely cut his shirt open. "Last time you were lucky."
Luke rolled his eyes. "You're still hung up with that? I won far and square, you sore loser!" He retorted.
Rose inhaled sharply as her eyes widened. "I'm not a sore loser, you stupid head!" She yelled at him, feeling offended.
"Stupid head?" Raiden stifled his laughter at Rose's failed attempt at a comeback. "Cmon, you can do better than that, Rosey." He teased. Like Raiden had hoped, Rose had now turned her attention to him leaving Luke alone sending him life-threatening glares. The white haired boy winked at his best friend who grinned back.
Luke scurried away to finally see his big sister who was seated at a table with Storm, Ultear and Hunter.
"Long time no see, Ugly." Luke shouted as he pointed at Nashi tauntingly.
"Who you calling ugly, twerp?" Nashi yelled back.
Before she could say anymore, Luke recklessly charged at her tacking her to the ground, however accidentally knocking down the entire table as well.
"Oh Mavis." Ultear groaned as she watched her food splatter on the ground. "Why can't sibling reunions be a simple hug with no violence or yelling?"
Storm sipped his drink which he thankfully grabbed before Luke had made his assault for Nashi. "That's Fairy Tail for you."
Ultear glanced at Hunter who was beside her. He was silent and unmoving, a dark aura emanating from him. "Um... Hunter?" She asked, nudging him.
"M-My... my ramen." He whispered. Like Ultear's food, his wonderful bowl of ramen was now on the floor wasted. To make matters worst, Nashi's foot had squashed it even more. The magic intensity around Hunter increased drastically.
"I'll take that as my cue to get the hell away from here." Storm muttered as he pretty much ran away to the other side of the guild.
Ultear's head hung low. "This isn't going to end well." She sighed.
"Luke." Hunter seethed.
Luke temporarily halted trying to mess with his sister and looked up to the red haired boy. Now Luke wasn't afraid of Rose at all but with the girl's big brother... that was a whole different story. His eyes filled with fear and as did Nashi's who was under him.
"S-Sorry?" He tried but unfortunately it didn't work.
"Make a run for your life!" Nashi screamed.
And just like that, Luke was running around the guild, trying to evade Hunter at all costs. Somehow Nashi had got dragged into it and was running right beside her little brother. One too many bystanders ended up getting caught in the commotion which ultimately ended up in an all out brawl within the Fairy Tail guild hall.
A flying bottle came hurtling towards Lily. Just in time, Gale hit it away and it shattered on the ground. "Which one of you bastards threw that?" He yelled before getting himself involved in the brawl.
Lily pouted. "Gale! Stop fighting and hang out with me!" She said, upset that her time with her brother had been interrupted.
Alexis chuckled at the sight as she dried an empty glass behind the bar. Every so often, she'd have to avoid being hit by flying objects but she didn't mind. It was all pretty amusing. "Don't worry, Lily, it'll all be over in a second." She reassured the girl.
"How do you know?" Lily asked curiously.
Alexis grinned as she placed the glass down. She leaned over the bar close to Lily. "3...2...1."
The door of the Master's office swung open and out stomped a beyond agitated Laxus who was sparking with electricity. "Stop fighting now!" He roared across the guild. Everyone froze, silence quickly filling the guild. "Whoever causes more ruckus will get a whole lot more than just a lightning bolt." He threatened. "Now clean all this shit up!" He beckoned which was met with a series of groans. "You're all giving me fucking headaches!" Laxus turned around mumbling complaints of his hair going grey before heading back into his office.
"This is all your fault." Nashi growled to Luke.
Luke narrowed his eyes at his sister. "Whatever." He looked away from her, to the ground with arms crossed over his chest. "I missed you, you dork." He mumbled under his breath. Before Nashi could respond, Luke ran to the other side of the guild in pursuit to find his best friend.
Nashi smirked. "That brat..."

Meanwhile...
"Any luck?" Jellal asked Macbeth who timidly shook his head as he tapped into the archival magic of the guild's airship.
"The target is no where to be found as well." Macbeth added, sighing.
"It's been an entire week. Who knows what could've happened in that much time." Sorano commented, looking grim as she stared at the ground.
Meredy furrowed her brow. "I think it's time we seek help, Jellal." She insisted clasping a hand over her chest.
Jellal knew full well that the longer it took to find Jace, the higher the chance he might not even be alive. It was a thought that made his stomach turn.
"Macbeth..." Jellal started. "Set a course for Fairy Tail."

The Next Day...
Rose was angry... and everyone in the guild certainly felt it. Her darkened aura radiated throughout the guild and due to that no one dared approach the red haired girl. She had lost once again to Luke who had beat her rather easily this time. If there's one thing she hated more than anything, it was defeat. Luckily for her, Hunter wasn't there to witness her pitiful defeat. She didn't want him to think of her as a sore loser.
She was definitely not a sore loser.
"Can you stop being a killjoy?" A voice knocked her out of her thoughts.
Raiden jumped onto the seat next to her. Turning his body to face her, he rested his head on his palm looking at her with grimace.
Rose glared at the boy. "Are you here to rub in Luke's victory?" She hissed. "Because if you are. So help me, Raiden Dreyar I will hurt you."
The real reason Raiden was next to red haired girl was because Layla had asked - well more like ordered - him to check up on Rose and make sure she was alright. The girls - Layla, Luna and Lily - were all too scared to approach the Fernandez girl while Luke was still trying to torment Nashi.
"No none of that." Raiden dismissed waving his hand. "Anyways, you need to cheer up and stop being a sore loser."
Rose was silent. "I'm not being a-"
"Even Hunter has lost before... at least that was what my sister said a while back. Before she left, Alexis used to tell me she'd beat him up all the time." Raiden said matter of factly. If anything he knew this argument was actually get though to Rose, after all she idolised her brother more than anything. "So don't think much of losing to Luke a couple of times. You'll get him some day."
Rose looked down at lap with a frown. "I suppose you're right. I shouldn't be wallowing in pity."
Raiden patted the girl on the head with a grin on his lips. "Good." He said. "Now just because I'm feeling nice, I'll get you a slice of cake from my mom okay?" He hopped up on his feet and walked away.
Rose's cheeks were as red as her hair as she continued to look down at her lap. If only-
"You feeling better Rose?" Layla interjected making Rose almost jump in her spot. Along with her, Luna and Lily now sat around Rose.
"Yeah I guess..." Rose responded. "Losing just really sucks." She pouted crossing her arms.
"Don't worry, I'll get Nashi to beat up Luke for you." Luna chimed in trying her best to make Rose feel better as well.
"I'll make sure to scold him as well." Lily said as well with a deepened frown. She was not happy with Luke at all and he was surely going to pay for messing with Rose.
Rose couldn't help but smile. "You guys..." She said feeling a warm fuzziness in her stomach.
Before she could say anymore, her eyes were drawn to the guild door which swung open. Two figures walked in. The one in front taller than the other and they both wore long dark cloaks. The one in front pulled down its hood revealing that unmistakable blue hair.
"Dad!"
