"Thank you, Mr Dreyar" A man in the lacrima screen said before dissolving away. Laxus threw the device on his desk and sighed. It was the Magic Council. At first he expected the usual; complaints about the guild's destructiveness but that wasn't the case this time.

It was a job request, well more like demand. They wanted Fairy Tail to dispose of a dark guild that was converging deep in the forests of Eastern Fiore, they didn't know any specifics about the dark guild which angered Laxus (He didn't want his guild members to walk into something they had no information on) but in the end he had to accept. Fairy Tail wasn't exactly in the Magic Council's 'good books' and rejecting would just be stupid on his account if he ever wanted to be in their good graces.

He needed to send to a team but there wasn't really much to choose from. The first people he had thought of was Team Natsu (If that's what they called themselves) of course but they all had children to take care of, parental responsibilities and they were getting really old. He needed to send someone else...

As if on cue, his door swung open and Ultear came with her face scrunched into a scowl. He was confused at first but then he remembered his daughter was downstairs and those two had about the worst history. It was then that an idea popped into his head.

"Good to see you back, Ultear." Laxus said, smiling at the girl. "How was S-Class mission?" He asked. Ultear sighed as she sat down on the seat across from him.

"It wasn't anything I couldn't handle." She answered him. Laxus couldn't help but smirk with pride. Ultear had come a long way from hardly being able to manipulate a puddle of water. "I have to tell you something though." She said. Laxus' ears perked as he listened closely to her. "While I was travelling back home, I encountered some dark mages who said they were going to revive the Balam Alliance."

Laxus' features turned grim as he rubbed his chin. "Where were you when you encountered them?" He inquired.

"Eastern side of Fiore." She replied.

Just as Laxus suspected. He was silent for a moment as he regathered his thoughts. "Ultear, I want you to get the rest of your friends up here into my office." He commanded.

Ultear sat there with a confused expression on her face. "Could you be more specific, old man? I have a lot of friends." She said crossing her arms while raising her eyebrow at him.

"First of all, I'm not old." Laxus responded looking offended. Ultear stifled her laughter. "Second, I want you get Hunter, Storm, Nashi and Gale." He ordered waving her away. Ultear nodded and complied like a soldier to a commander.

"This is unnatural and I feel uncomfortable." Gale whispered to Nashi and Storm who nodded slowly in agreement. Now that his sister was out of sight, Storm ditched his angry douchebag attitude for his normal douchebag attitude.

The three were watching as Hunter and Alexis were arguing. Well, it started out as arguing and now it was just strange. There was almost a... flirtiness to it.

"What are you going to do huh tough guy?" Alexis taunted with an all too familiar devilish smirk. She stepped closer Hunter.

"Try it and see what happens, Demon." He snarled his face lowering down to go closer to hers.

"Since when did he start calling her 'Demon' again?" Nashi asked the two boys beside her who shrugged. She was utterly confused on this  whole situation. Her eyes suddenly widened. "Did she just-" Nashi started.

Storm gulped. "Yup, she took a bite of the cake." He finished. He instantly felt sorry for the blonde haired girl sensing her inevitable doom.

Hunter's aura darkened a lot. Nashi felt herself shiver slightly with fear. He was twitching with anger as he watched Alexis finish the rest of his beloved cake.

"RIP Alexis Dreyar." Gale whispered.

"I can see why you like strawberry cake, it's really delicious." Alexis said as she licked the icing from her fingers. She hummed in satisfaction remaining unfazed by Hunter's anger. "You know, you're cute when you're angry."

Hunter's immediately turned his head avoiding her eye contact. His darkened aura had completely disappeared. He let out a growl in annoyance while crossing his arms. Alexis couldn't help but laugh at his reddened cheeks. He was even cuter when he was embarrassed, she thought.

"Storm, Nashi, Gale, Hunter. Master's office now." Ultear called out from top floor.

"Damn, did we do something bad again?" Storm muttered under his breath. The only reasons they ever got called to the Master's office were for punishments.

"I don't think we did." Gale said frowning. He paused for a second and glanced at Nashi. "What did you do?"

Nashi gasped feeling offended. "Why do you always assume I did something wrong?"

"Stop talking and get up there." Hunter growled walking up the stairs. He didn't once glance at Alexis. She just smirked and decided to help her mom tend to the bar.

Laxus watched as the kids filed into his office. Hunter, Ultear, Nashi, Gale and Storm walked in shutting the door behind them.

"Before you say anything, it's all Flame Brain's fault." Storm said earning him a backhand to the head from the fire dragon slayer. The two started bickering, throwing stupid insults at each other.

Laxus, getting annoyed already, contemplated whether to electrocute the two. He decided against it and chose to just get right to the point. Mavis knows he can't stand these kids for more than five minutes.

"The Magic Council called and there has been a spike in Dark Guild Activity in Eastern Fiore." Laxus started. The kids silenced listening intently to him. "They asked if I could send a team to get rid of them."

Gale stopped Laxus for a moment. "Wait and you're sending us? You don't even trust us enough to help out with the Fantasia Parade." Gale pointed out. The other teens nodded in agreement.

"He has a point, Master." Nashi said.

"Well, with Hunter and Ultear leading the group, I'm willing to trust you enough to do this mission." Laxus announced causing Storm and Hunter's eyes to widen. Nashi looked very in favour of that decision. "Besides as much as the lot of you are idiots, you're all talented wizards."

Storm raised his voice. "Does Ultear have to come? I mean she isn't exactly part of the team." He said stepping forward. Ultear's gaze lowered to the ground looking hurt.

Laxus frowned at him. He knew that the two Fullbusters had a rocky relationship. He sighed. "Ultear already has experience with some of the dark guild members so she's going." He answered.

"Any information on the dark guild we're going against?" Hunter questioned.

Laxus shook his head with annoyance. "The only information those Magic Council b*stards gave me was that they were located in Eastern Fiore. So other than that you're all on your own." Laxus snarled clenching his jaw. He didn't want to send them knowing they were basically walking in blind. "I know you just got back from retrieving Alexis so if you don't feel like you can go-"

"Are you kidding, Master!?" Nashi said with a wide grin. "I can't wait to go on this mission! I promise we won't let you down."

"Somehow I find that hard to believe." Laxus replied with little faith. "Tomorrow you'll be leaving."

"Wow that's so soon." Ultear's eyes widened as she spoke. She'd only just got back from her previous mission. Laxus nodded and sighed.

"Sorry kids, the magic council is breathing down my neck about this so the faster you do it the less crap they put the guild through." He explained. He leaned back on his chair. "In the meantime, I want you to tell your parents and get ready."

They all nodded and started heading out the door leaving Laxus to his thoughts. He hoped he made the right decision sending them.

It's a fast update. Very uncommon of me, I know. 😂 This chapter was very boring, not funny at all and nothing happened. It's just a lead up to the next 'arc' of the story which will be the gang against a dark guild. Feel free to comment any good suggestions or questions concerning the story.
