More Than Meets The Eye (Part 8)

"Wh-what happened?"

Callie woke up and found herself looking up at the blue sky. She pushed herself up and found herself floating on a boat. Next thing she knew, she felt a fuzzy pair of paws hug her.

"Callie! You're okay!" The blue exceed screamed, his paws hugging her as she felt tears drop on her shirt.

"Do you remember anything that happened?" Lucy asked the dazed brunette as she regained her consciousness.

"No...all I remember was.....you guys...those four people....me attacking them...and then fainting."

"Are you aware of what you attacked them with?"

"......no."

As everyone pitched in to explain everything that happened, even with a motion sick Fire dragon slayer giving details, Callie's eye pupils shrunk in shock as she heard the unbelievable story.

"I.....I'm a water dragon slayer?" Callie asked them, not believing what they were saying, hoping it was just a joke or hallucination. But much to her disbelief, they all nodded their heads.

"How come I haven't noticed it yet?! How come I was never alert of it?! HOW COME-". Callie began freaking out until Erza cupped her mouth.

"We are in shock as much as you are Callie, we decided to talk about it all together at the guild when we arrive." Erza explained as she took her palm off of the awestruck water dragon slayer's lips.

"Wait a minute.....how come you don't suffer from motion sickness like every other dragon slayer does?" Gray asked as everyone stared at the pink haired dragon slayer hanging his head off the boat, moaning and groaning as he felt like throwing up.

"Hehe...about that....I just hold it in. I pretend I don't have it, but as soon as we arrive at our destination, I go somewhere to let it all out...." Callie admitted awkwardly as she scratched the back of her head. Then something caught Callie's attention as she stared into the distance. As they were only a few 30 or so feet away from getting back to Magnolia, she saw something sparkling. She looked under the boat deck and saw something with wings lying on the bottom ground right below the dock. It looked like a turquoise cat-no,

An exceed.

Out of nowhere, she jumped out of the boat and swam away from the boat as fast as possible to the bottom of the dock. She picked up the exceed and noticed it was covered in dirt, and had a broken wing. She cradled it in her arms as she climbed up on the dock, just to find her team waiting on top of the dock.

"Why did you just jump off?! You almost got us wet!" Lucy asked as she was smoothening out her shirt.

"That would have been hilarious though..." Happy began giggling just to have his face stretched a few seconds later.

"I jumped off, because I found this..." Callie lifted her head up and showed everyone the unconscious exceed laying down in her connected arms.

"An exceed?!" Natsu stared closely at the exceed, then he grinned. "Oi Happy! Looks like you have another exceed friend!"

"Aye!" The hovering blue exceed smiled as he flew around Callie.

"Come on! Don't waste any time! I want answers to who I am, and I need to help this exceed!" Callie screamed as everyone ran to the guild, with Natsu kicking the doors down as usual.

"Master! We need to have a talk about Callie!" Lucy explained as the small and tiny master was sitting in the bar table, drinking some beer.

"What happened this time?" Makarov asked, ready for any problem including destroyed cities.

"Apparently, now our guild has 4 dragon slayers! Turns out Callie is a water dragon slayer!"

...

...

...

"NANI?!"

The master spit his beer out as that sentence rang throughout the guild as if the guild was some kind of church. Everyone stared at Callie, who was cradling the exceed in her arms.

"What?"

"You're kidding?!"

"A water dragon slayer?!"

"CALLIE?!"

Questions of pure shock filled the atmosphere until a scream was heard.

"STOP!"

All eyes turned to Callie, who was the one who screamed.

"I don't know who or what I am either! I am as shocked as all of you! But I want to talk to Master so I could get some answers!" Callie turned to the master, who was still dumbfounded.

"Wow.....Callie. Have you ever remembered a lacrima being placed inside you or a dragon taking care of you?" The Master Asked as Callie gave him an answer.

"Well, when I was little, I remembered being taught and playing with a blue dragon by the beach! Her name was Suiro, but I remember I would call her Mizu! It was because I remember I said her color reminded me of....water...." Callie's eyes lit up as she instantly realized what she just said.

"And how come you never questioned yourself of this?"

"Because whenever I asked my parents, they would say I was hallucinating, I was in a coma, or it was just my imaginary friend."

"Then there is your answer for you Callie! I'm guessing that with the stories of your bad parents you have told us about, it seems like they have kidnapped you from Suiro. But the good news is, now you know the truth, AND we have ANOTHER dragon slayer in our guild!" Everyone began cheering loudly until a girl's voice was heard.

"Look!" Wendy pointed to the exceed laying in Callie's arms. "It has a broken wing! I can heal it for you, Callie-San." Wendy extended her palms ready to heal it until Carla stopped her.

"Wendy! Don't waste energy!" Carla scolded but Wendy, being stubborn to help, didn't listen. A light glowed from her palms onto the exceed, until the wing regained its normal shape.

"Arigato Wendy! You're the best!" Callie thanked the bluenette dragon slayer. It was almost sunset, so as soon as everyone left the guild, she went to her room in Fairy Hills and helped the exceed with everything else it needed.

-Time Skip: 5:30 AM-

The exceed woke up, lifting its head off a Fairy Tail guild symbol pillow as it was laying on a big sky blue bed.

"What the?" The exceed thought to herself as she looked at herself and realized it was wearing a v-neck Aruba ocean blue tank top and peacock green skirt and it had silver arm sleeves wrapped around its arms.

"Good morning. Finally awake Huh?" A voice alarmed the exceed until it saw Callie sitting right next to the exceed.

"So are you ok? What happened?" Callie asked the exceed until she felt the same feeling she felt on the boat. She felt furry paws hugging her and tears falling on her shirt.

"N.no one wants me around..." The exceed cried out as it was still hugging Callie, crying as Callie pitied the exceed. She wrapped her hands around it and hugged it back.

"My family and friends hate me.......so I-I ran away as soon as the exceeds arrived on earth, but I found bad luck along the way and I got hurt and...." The exceed cried even more as she remembered everything that happened, but she felt Callie grasp her tighter.

"Don't worry, I know how that feels." The exceed looked up to see a few tears stream from Callie's coral peach cheeks. "But I will take care of you I promise. My name is Callie, and I will be your new owner." Callie managed a welcoming and warm smile at the exceed and it smiled back.

"So what's your name?" The exceed looked down embarrassed, making the message clear to Callie she has no name.

"Hm..." Callie was thinking until she looked out her window and saw it was almost dawn and it was a beautiful dawn. Then it was clear to her what name to give the exceed.

"I'll name you Dawn." Callie smiled as the teal exceed as it high fived it's new owner, and it's first loving family member.
