POV: ???

I laid in the tall golden grass, as I stared at the sky. I usually liked staring at the blue canvas that was I was constantly under, were every now again a cloud would blow through and it made me happy. It made me not feel so lonely. Since I was stuck here in my own head. But now, it made me sad. Because I wasn't going to be able to see it again. Maybe where I end up, I could make a new field. But it wouldn't be as peaceful, it wouldn't be close enough to home. I was slightly startled when I heard a loud 'pow' sound coming off from the side. I sat up and looked to see a white portal had appeared.

'What the hell?'

I thought as I stood up and walked towards it slowly.

'Lucy!'

I heard someone call in my head. I flinched as it appeared in my head randomly.

'My name? Why would I hear my own name in my head?'

I thought, but then I took a deep breath and I shook my head, I was just imagining it.

'Lucy!'

I heard it again, but this time louder. I whipped my head around and saw a golden wolf with gold eyes.

"Kenia?" I whispered to myself, as the wolf sprinted at me.

'Lucy!'

She called happily.

"Kenia, what are you doing here?" I asked. "I thought you were stabbed."

'I was.'

Kenia said.

"Then what the hell are you doing here?" I asked her.

'I'm here to say thank you. And good-bye.'

"Good-bye?" I asked, and then realized. "Because we're about to die."

'No, just me.'

She told me as she shook her head.

"What?" I asked.

'Lucy, do you know what this is?'

Kenia said glancing at the portal.

"A portal." I said.

'Yes, and do you know where it will go?'

Kenia asked me as she looked down at me.

"No." I answered.

'Neither do I. Not exactly anyway.'

She thought.

'But it will take one of us away to the afterlife.'

"The afterlife?" I asked and went to ask more about it, but something she said didn't sit right. "What do you mean 'one of us'?"

'I mean, that one of us will pass on, and the other will live. Lucy what happened to us was a mistake. A beautiful mistake. You were supposed to die when I took control, but because you accepted that I was taking control. It somehow cheated the spell, and let us switch places. Instead of your soul moving on, our souls latched onto each other. Connecting us, and making us one. And keeping you alive.'

Kenia explained.

'This is why, I am saying good-bye.'

"Why are you explaining this to me?" I asked. "I would have just gone through it knowing that you were killed outside my head, I would have figured that out."

'Because you're not going through the portal.'

"What! Why?" I questioned.

'Because a year ago, you gave me life. You let me live so that you could save your friends. And I've been trying to do the same ever since then.'

Kenia told me.

'Lucy, I've been helping people so that maybe one day, I could forgive myself for taking you away from your family.'

"But you didn't take me-." I started to say, but Kenia cut me off.

'Let me finish.'

She thought, and I closed my mouth.

'I know it seems that I didn't take you away. But I actually did. You had to chose to between saving them or letting them die. You asked me for help, and in exchange I would take over.'

Kenia breathed hard, like she was going to cry.

'And I agreed. I took you away from them.'

"But Kenia." I said. "I was going to die whether I had asked you for help or not. I wasn't strong enough to take on Ethan by myself. You save my family and in return, I saved you."

'And you've been stuck in your own head for a year. Watching the world go by, from behind my eyes. No one is meant to be caged like you have.'

Kenia told me. I couldn't say anything, so I shook my head back and forth. I didn't want to lose someone, who was a huge part of me.

'Lucy, I've lived the life I was meant to. I was created to live, so I could save you and lead you back to where you belong.'

Tears gathered in my eyes, and I started choking. I didn't want to let them fall.

'They don't need me. They need you. They've needed you the moment you left, no, the moment you joined Fairy Tail.'

Kenia looked down at the ground.

'Lucy, you've been fighting to be with them the moment you saw them again. You made me stay still in the library, because you didn't want to leave them again. You made me jump in front of Natsu, because you wanted to save him.'

I gasped and a single tear fell down my cheek.

"I didn't-." I started to say, but Kenia stopped me.

'I know you didn't mean to, and it's not entirely your fault. I wanted to save him too. I wanted to save all of them. But I couldn't.'

Kenia thought to me and I went to try and comfort her, but she looked up at me and started thinking to me again.

'Which is why, I am going to move on. Because I know that you can do it. You can save them. I know you can.'

"But what if I can't?" I asked. "What if I'm not strong enough?"

'You are strong enough. You're stronger than me.'

Kenia thought to me.

'Anyone would have gone mad if they were stuck like you were. I know I would have.'

She said as she looked around.

'Then again, this place is quite peaceful.'

Kenia said.

"It's just outside of town, passed the train station." I told her.

'I never went that far . . . . . . . I would have liked to go here myself.'

Kenia thought, and I knew it was more to herself.

"You still can." I said.

'No I can't.'

She thought.

'And you know that.'

Then all of a sudden the portal started sucking in air, stronger than it had before and my plain white dress that went  down to my shins, started blowing around as the wind picked up.

'We don't have much time.'

Kenia told me. And I knew, that I wasn't going to talk her out of her decision, and if I tried to make a break for the portal Kenia would be five steps ahead of me. I then let my tears fall freely, as I ran at Kenia and wrapped my arms around her neck.

"I'm going to miss you!" I yelled into her fur, and I couldn't stop myself from sobbing. Kenia lowered her head and nuzzled my back.

'I promise I will be with you. Remember? I'm a part of you, always have been.'

I stopped myself from hiccupping to be able to speak.

"Always will be." I whispered immediately choking and sobbing afterwards, barely able to breathe. Kenia sat up straight and I let go of her, though I didn't want to. I stepped back, trying to control myself. Kenia walked away from me and towards the portal. "Kenia." I said, she stopped and turned to look at me. "Thank you."

'No.'

She looked like she was smiling.

'Thank you.'

She then walked into the portal. I crashed to my knees as my body started to glow. But I didn't care what was happening to me, all I cared about at this moment was to cry. I cried, because I could feel her leaving our connected souls, being torn apart. Torn apart by death. When the pain stopped, I knew she was truely gone.
