Lucy's POV

The sights of what was in front of me there force me to spill out my lunch. Not that I ate much, my stomach growls are the least of my worries... at the moment anyway.

"Lucy!" I feel Natsu Grab onto my arm.

He yells in my ear with Juvia beside him.

"Run!" The little girl with the blue hair- Wendy her name was. Runs ahead of us into the jet black forest.

The ground beneath my feet crunches as my breath becomes more quick. My heart beats rapidly inside my chest. We finally come to a stop.

My throat is raw dry from running. I can still hear the screams. Natsu places his finger to his lips as he pull out two bags.

"You said not to!" I growl. He smiles. we hear a crunch from behind us. We immediately dart away like prey being chased off by predators. Well that is what we are.

"We need food and water." Natsu states throwing a bag off of his back. I nod my head in agreement.

Juvia just stands motionless looking back into the trees as if she is waiting for someone.
"Juvia?" I question she turns her head quickly and gives me a faint smile which I can easily see through.

We all hear five cannons which means five people have died.

"Five down, nineteen more to go."

Juvia bursts into tears. Her hand pale and shaking, I look into her dark eyes. She quickly wipes her eyes and swallows.

"We should keep moving," Natsu interrupts. We continue walking deeper into the trees. Natsu unzips the bags and throws us some bottles.

"You two look for water whilst I look for some food." He walks ahead of us and begins to hunt.

"Where do you suppose we will find water?" I push a dangling leaf over my head. Here in the forest you can hear cicadas buzzing and a slight breeze blowing.

"Just look around." Juvia says quietly. She points to a small pond.

"There, oh while your at it we should look for some frogs. Make sure they aren't poisonous though!" She adds.

"How will i know if a frog is poisonous-"

"It'll be brightly coloured." Juvia interrupts. I dig my hands into the pond whilst Juvia fills up the bottles. She shuts them over and sighs.

"Should we grab some firewood?" I question. Juvia shakes her head.

"We should get back first. Then think about that. Besides we are in a forest, there are twigs everywhere." We start walking back, Natsu comes through the trees and shrubs with a rabbit in his hand and sticks in the other.

"I managed to catch eight small frogs." I laugh. Natsu gives me a thumbs up and begins on the fire. Juvia skins the poor animal, then bon appetite!

Night comes quickly so we kill our fire so it won't alert other tributes of our presence.

The capitol anthem starts playing and a screen opens up in the sky. Faces and names begin to flash.

"That guy who jumped off a the start. His name was Bixslow and the girl from his District also died."

"Lisanna." Juvia sighs. I nod my head.

"such a shame for such a pretty face to die in this monstrosity." Natsu stabs a frog with his stick and puts it over the fire.

The anthem continues to play.
"Oh that guy who was with Wendy died." I add in. Natsu nods his head.

"Bisca and Freed? Weren't they from District 7 and 8?" Juvia nods her head.

"At least Gray is okay..." Juvia sigh in relief.

"Was he that boy who came here with you?" I question. Juvia nods her little head. Natsu sighs.

"No offence Juvia but I don't like that guy." Natsu punches the inside of his hand. She just shakes her head.

"Gray promised him and I would fight together but a few nights ago he yelled at Juvia." I place my hand on her shoulder.

"Gray volunteered for Juvia." She curls in a ball and begins to cry.

"Juvia l-love him." She sniffles. Lucy wraps her arms around me and sighs.

"I'm sure he is just scared." I pat her back.

"Ye fear changes people." Natsu adds and bites into his frog.

Me and Juvia lie down whilst Natsu keeps watch. Im scared incase he falls asleep and we get ambushed in the night. However we ran quite far so chances are very low... but still likely.

"Wake up sleepy heads." Natsu yawns. I stretch my arms and legs while Juvia rolls over.

"Juvia barely slept..." she yawns. Natsu pulls me off of the ground and I tighten my hair ponytail. I notice Natsu has been busy sharpening some sticks.

"What are those?" I wipe the sleep out of my eyes.

"Weapons." He scoffs under his breath.

"We should get moving and gather more supplies." Juvia states. I nod my head.

"Its quite cold is it not?" Natsu picks up his baggage. I nod my head.

"So what exactly are in those bags?" Juvia questions.

"Rope, matches, bottles, a knife, some tubs, plasters and a few apples." Natsu swings it over his shoulder and begins walking.

Juvia and I quickly gather some more water and frogs which we keep in a tub. While Natsu picks up the sticks that he sharpened.

We suddenly hear some laughing. We all turn to face eachother.
"You guys run ahead." Natsu throws his stick forward then we hear a scream.

"Natsu?" A girl with short white hair falls down infront of him with blood pouring out of her chest. Natsu shakes and runs away.

The girls eyes shut slowly.

"I killed someone, I killed someone." He keeps repeating. Shock more than anything is transcribed on his face. His face is pale and his eyes shake. A cannon blares and Natsu falls down.

"I-Im a monster!" He is sick infront of him. I pat his back.

"Natsu we have to keep moving..." I pull him up. Im scared too after seeing that it proves that these games really do change a person. The once happy boy is now a killer...
