Chapter Thirty-Two: Happy New Year
Happy New Years! This is going to be a nice, short chapter. It probably isn't. Sometimes, I get carried away and I write more than I need to. But, here's a chapter just for Lucy and Lisanna. I love you, Lisanna! <3

Lisanna's POV:
It was New Year's Eve and I decided to invite Lucy over to celebrate with me. It has been years, since I hanged out with Lucy and I really missed it. We would always stay at my parent's beach house and watch the fireworks outside. It was really nice. I picked up my phone and dialed Lucy's number.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Lucy. This is Lisanna. I was wondering if you would like to hang out with me at the beach house we always go to. Just like old times."
"Hey, Lisanna! I'll ask my dad if it's ok. But, I'm pretty sure he'll let me. I can't wait! Are you going to pick me up?"
"Obviously. You don't even have your driver's license."
"Hey, I was a good driver! Porlyusica was the one who failed me for no apparent reason. Sure, I may have said something she didn't like, but she shouldn't fail me, because of that."
"Don't worry. You can retake your test and get another person to evaluate you. I'll pick you up at six and you better get your @$$ ready. I'm not leaving without you."
"Alright, fine. If I have to, I'll even beg my dad to let me go. Bye, Lisanna! I'll see you later!"
She hung up the call and I plopped myself onto the bed. Deep down, I really wanted to jump up and down on the mattress, but I didn't really feel like it. I was about to get up and get ready, until Mira opened the door.
"Hey, Lisanna. What's up?" Mira asked as she sat next to me. I pointed to the roof over my head.
"The ceiling!" I exclaimed. Mira shook her head.
"Really, Lisanna?"
"What? It's funny."
"I know, but seriously, what's up?"
"Well, remember when Lucy and I would always go to our parent's beach house every New Year's Eve? We're bring back that tradition!" I said in joy.
"That's great! I hope you guys have fun," Mira said.
"But, what about you? What are you going to do for New Year's Day?"
"Don't worry about me. I'll just hang out with Elfman. You should get ready. Don't want to keep Lucy waiting."
"Thanks! I will!" Before leaving, Mira gave me a small smile and closed the door. I jumped off the bed and got prepared.

"Hurry up, Lucy!" I shouted as I honked the car. Lucy tried her best to get the luggage out of the door, but failed miserably. I let out a disappointed sigh.
"Lisanna! I would appreciate it if you got out of your car and help out!" Lucy said.
"But, I'm lazy. Plus, I don't want to ruin my nails." I took a good, long look at my nails and admired them.
"Lisanna!"
"Ugh, fine!" I got out of the car and we yanked the luggage out of the door. We lifted the luggage up and put it in the back trunk.
"See? That wasn't so hard."
"Yeah, yeah, just get in the car." We hopped into the car and we drove to the beach. I decided to put some music on and Lucy started jamming out.
"Is it too late now to say sorry?"
"Are you for real?"
"Cause I'm missing more than just your body."
"You have got to be kidding me."
"Is it too late now to say sorry?"
"Yes, if you keep singing to this song."
"Yeah I know that I let you down."
"Shut up."
"Is it too late to say I'm sorry now?"
"Now, it is." Lucy bursted laughing and couldn't stop. I laughed with her.
"You have to live a little, Lisanna. Why don't you like this song?"
"I do like the song. You just sing terribly."
"Says the girl who got last place in a singing competition," Lucy said with a big smirk on her face. I scoffed.
"Ok, that was a long time ago. I'm still better than you'll ever be."
"As if. You're mom asked me to sing in front of the elderly. That's right, hun. She asked moi and not you."
"Are we seriously going to fight over who's the better singer?"
"I'm so good at singing, I could sing higher than Arianna Grande."
"Oh, yeah? I'm so good at singing, people from all over the world would come see me."
"I'm so good at singing, it would take only one day just to make my album a hit success."
"I'm so good at singing, that... Uh..."
"I'm so good at singing, I left you speechless!" Lucy retaliated.
"No, you didn't!"
"Yes, I did!" We gave each other a death glare, but it slowly turned into a happy expression. I smiled.
"Can't believe we're acting like spoiled children. We haven't fought in years," I said. Lucy laughed.
"It feels nostalgic. When we were kids, we would always try to see who is better than the other. None of us ever end up winning."
"But, that's what brings us closer. Our competitiveness makes us better friends and strengthens our bonds," I said. Lucy nodded.
"I still think I'm the better singer." There was a long pause after Lucy said that. I looked at her and gave her a blank expression.
"Hey, Lucy?"
"Yeah?"
"Shut up."
"No."
[TIME SKIP]
After bickering for the whole car ride, we finally arrived at the beach house. We got out of the car and unpacked all our things. Lucy's was the heaviest one.
"We're just staying over for three days. How much did you pack?" I asked.
"Some clothes and my favorite blanket."
"Are you for real right now? You're blanket?"
"Hey, Blakey and I have been through a lot when I was a kid."
"Oh, yeah? What does he do?"
"He keeps me warm, snuggles with me, and he feels soft and cozy," Lucy said dreamily.
"It's basically every blanket." Lucy dramatically gasped.
"Blakey is not like every blanket! He's special!" I snickered at her statement.
"Natsu would be so jelly right now. If he heard you, he'd probably kill Blakey."
"Well, he's not here right now. Is he?"
"Maybe it's time that I found my soulmate. You and Natsu are meant to be. I've never seen anyone so into their relationship than you guys. It makes me jealous." We brought the luggages to our rooms and we set them down.
"I love Natsu. He can make me go insane sometimes, but in a good way. His childish behavior and his idiotic brain never fails to amuse me. I love everything about him and I don't want to see him to change." She unzipped her luggage and pulled out a heart-shaped key. She held it close to her chest. I placed my hand on her shoulder.
"Still into keys, huh?" She gave me a warm smile.
"Natsu gave this to me. It's like I have a deeper connection to this key than all of my other ones," Lucy said as she put her key away.
"Hey, the fireworks are going to start any moment now. Let's go outside," I suggested. She gave me a nod and we sat down on our beach chairs. I looked at the sky and closed my eyes. The sun was setting, the wind was breezing, who could've asked for a better place than this?
"Lisanna?" Lucy called. I opened my eyes and turned to face her.
"Yeah?" She twiddled her fingers before talking.
"You know how everyone has a New Year's Resolution? I don't really like that. I want to make a wish instead." I gave her a weird look.
"Why?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders, while leaning back on the chair.
"You have to work hard to make your New Year's Resolution come true, but a wish is something that happens by chance. I want to test my luck and see if my wish comes true." I thought about it for a moment and an idea popped in my head.
"Let's have a bet. If my wish comes true, you have to admit I'm the better singer. If your wish comes true, I'll admit you're better. Deal?" I offered my hand to her and she accepted it.
"The better singer? Really?" I shrugged my shoulders.
"We were arguing about it before." Just then, an explosion of fireworks appeared before our eyes. Big ones, small ones, and colorful ones. They come in different shapes and designs. It was astonishing.
"Make a wish, Lisanna! Make a wish!" Lucy exclaimed. I bowed my head and put my hands together. Once I was done, I checked to see if Lucy was done as well.
"What did you wish for?" I asked.
"It's kind of weird, but I wish to become a famous author. Once I publish my book, I want people to buy it and read it during their spare time. What about you?" I looked away from her eyes and blushed.
"It's too embarrassing," I said. Lucy made a small giggle.
"Nah, I don't really care if you share it with me or not. Just tell me when it comes true and we can do our part of the deal." I turned my attention towards the fireworks and sighed. Of all the wishes I could've wished for, I chose something that may or may not ever occur. You can't force it and you can't make it happen. It can only be achieved through destiny. Some people can't or don't find it, but I don't want to be them. What I wished for was something so unpredictable, not time even time could tell me when.
I wish, from the bottom of my heart, to find my one true love and spend the rest of my days caring, sharing, and loving him till death due us part...
"Happy New Year, Lucy."
"Here's to another good year, Lisanna..."
