Erza's POV:

"How are the decorations coming along?" I asked the planning committee.

"If we had more people, it would be done in a jiffy, but no one showed up so it's just me and the other members," Millianna said. Millianna was my childhood friend and someone I still hold dear. She would always watch me win beauty pageants and bring me water when I'm training at the dojo.

"Would you like it if I know some people that may help you with the decorations?" I asked. She looked at me with wide eyes and gave me a big smile.

"That would be great!" She exclaimed.

"Just make sure to keep the streamers light. I think you may have overflowed the dance floor," I remarked.

"Hehe, oops," she said. I went out the door to try and find Lucy and the other girls. It's after school, so they should be in the library. Well, Lucy and Levy at least. Juvia is probably stalking Gray right now. Mira told me that she was heading out to go get food and drinks with Wendy. I peeked inside the library to find Lucy and Levy. I motioned them to come closer, but they gave me weird expressions.

"Psst! Come on guys!" I whispered to them. They both set their books down and went towards me.

"What is it, Erza?" Lucy asked. I grabbed their hands and I started dragging them to the auditorium.

"W-Where are we going?" Levy asked.

"The party is being held in the auditorium and Millianna needs help decorating for the Halloween Dance. I was hoping you guys could help us finish," I said. They both exchanged looks and nodded.

"Sure thing!" They both exclaimed in unison. I smiled to the both of them and we headed to the auditorium.

[TIME SKIP]

"Wow! This place looks spiffy!" Millianna complimented. We nodded our heads in agreement.

"Come on, guys. The party's going to start soon. We need to go home and wear our costumes," Mira said. Mira and Wendy came back with the supplies and helped us put the finishing touches together.

"Does everyone have a date to the dance?" Wendy asked. We all stared at each other. I never thought that we wouldn't have a date.

"Hey! Just because nobody has a date to the dance, doesn't mean we can't have fun. Gals over Pals!" Lucy exclaimed. We all laughed and went our separate ways.

Lucy's POV:

I got home and dressed in my tamer costume. It looks like a gown you would wear to a royal ball, but the sparkly golden skirt was at knee-length and the top was more daring. I let my hair down and curled the ends of my it. I put a little cute hat on the side of my head and added a little bit of make up to my face. I wore my cherry lip gloss and looked at the mirror to adjust myself. Later, I grabbed my whip and wore my black Stuart Weitzan. Virgo took a picture of me and I went to the dance.

When I went to the auditorium, I saw all of my friends wearing their costumes. Levy was wearing a wizard costume, Erza was dressed as a knight, Mira was in her cupid costume, Juvia was dressed as a rain woman, Wendy was a good witch, and Cana was in a bartender outfit. In my eyes, they all looked awesome.

"OMG! LUCY! YOU LOOK SO PRETTY!" Levy shouted. The music was booming, so it only made sense that she talked loudly.

"CAN YOU KEEP IT DOWN A NOTCH, DJ? YOU'RE GONNA MAKE OUR EARS BLEED!" Mira shouted to the DJ. The music died down a little and everyone was relieved.

"THANK YOU!" Wendy exclaimed.

"Wendy, you don't have to scream anymore. The DJ turned the music down," I said.

"I KNOW, BUT I CAN'T STOP SCREAMING!" Wendy shouted. I patted her head and made my way to the dance floor. I was probably dancing like an idiot, but I didn't care. I just wanted to have some fun. I wasn't looking at my surroundings and bumped into a person by accident.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I wasn't looking. Are you o- Lucy?"

"N-Natsu?" He looked at me from top to bottom. He snapped back to reality and offered his hand. I gently grabbed it and he hoisted me up.

"What are you dressed as?" Natsu asked. I twirled my outfit around.

"A tamer. Do you like it?" I asked. He nodded his head in approval.

"You look cute in it," he said. I blushed lightly at his compliment.

"A-Arigatou," I said. I looked at where I fell and laughed.

"What's so funny?" He asked. I looked at him and shook my head.

"When we bumped into each other, it kind of reminds me of how we met. Well, excluding the part where you apologized and helped me up," I said. Silence was enveloping the atmosphere. Except for the music.

"Sorry, about that," Natsu apologized.

"For what?"

"For being an insensitive jerk to you before. I should've been nicer to you, but all I did was snap at you," he said. He took my golden locks that were covering my face and placed them behind my ear. As he did, our faces were closer than ever. I felt my blood rushing and my cheeks reddening. My heart was going insane. What is he doing to me?

"D-Don't worry about it. T-That was before and t-this is now," I stuttered. I looked at his costume. There was no doubt that he was dressed as a dragon. He even wore horns on his head. He gave me a warm smile and lowered his head to meet my ears.

"You smell like strawberries and vanilla," Natsu whispered to me. Chills were running down my spine and my heartbeat was intensifying.

"S-Shut up," I said as I pushed him away. He laughed at my reaction and started to drag me away. We hid behind the snack table and he pointed to Romeo and Wendy.

"Let's go stalk my sister and Romeo," Natsu said. I looked at him with a weird expression, but shrugged it off. I looked at Wendy and Romeo and saw them holding hands. They were looking at the opposite sides of each other and were blushing red. Who would've thought that a Halloween Dance could be so romantic?

"W-Wendy?" Romeo asked. Wendy looked at Romeo.

"Y-Yeah?"

"I-"

"Romeo-kun!" A girl in a fairy costume exclaimed.

"Y-Yes?" He stuttered. The girl was rocking back and forth. She was playing with her fingers and looked nervous.

"C-Can I dance with you?" She asked. Romeo looked at her with wide eyes. He looked at Wendy and she gave him a sad smile. She motioned him to accept the offer.

"As much as I would love to, I can't. I was going to ask Wendy to dance with me," he said. The girl looked at Wendy and gave her a genuine smile. She bowed her head at Romeo and walked the other way.

"Y-You want to dance with me?" Wendy asked. Romeo nodded.

"If you don't mind," he said as he extended his hand. Wendy hesitated at first, but accepted his offer.

"They look pretty cute together," Natsu said. I nodded in agreement.

"I'm a bit jealous," I admitted. He raised one of his eyebrows.

"Why?" He asked. I looked at Romeo and Wendy dancing like there's no tomorrow. It made me happy just admiring them.

"Do you know what love is, Natsu? I mean, whenever I look at Romeo and Wendy, I wish I can have that kind of relationship. Two people who care and love each other." He rested his chin on the palm of his hand.

"I don't really know, but I think it's kind of weird. Love is when two people show affection towards each other. They can make you smile, laugh, cry, angry, and vulnerable. There is a special place in your heart that belongs to that specific person and nobody else. You can feel a special connection with them and you would be heartbroken if you knew they left you. It doesn't have to be romantic at all. As long as you can trust, care, and be kind to that individual, I think that's what love is." He looked at me and saw how stunned I was by his response.

"That's...so sweet, Natsu. I can totally relate to that with my keys. I know they're not exactly human, but I treasure them with all my heart and I would literally die without them." I rested my chin at the palm of my hand and continued to look at Wendy and Romeo.

"Shoot, I forgot." I turned my attention towards Natsu and saw him upset.

"Huh? What is it, Natsu?" I asked.

"Uh, love really is complicated," Natsu said, ignoring my question. We both laughed and got up from behind the snack table. The music turned from loud and crazy to soft and subtle.

"Now, we're gonna take things slow. Grab a partner and hit the dance floor. This is a slow dance," the DJ said. I looked at my friends and almost all of them got partners. Levy was with Gajeel, Juvia was with Gray, Erza was with Jellal, and Wendy was with Romeo. Mira and Cana didn't give a d@mn in the world and danced together. It was rather funny. I was about to sit down until Natsu offered his hand.

"W-Would you like to...dance with me?" He asked. I blushed at his question.

"Why?" He looked away from me and blushed deeply as well. I giggled at his adorableness.

"Yes or no?" He asked. I playfully rolled my eyes and sighed. I placed my hand on top of his. He looked shocked.

"What? Nothing to say?" I smirked. He furrowed his eyebrows and led me to the dance floor. He rested his arms on my hips and I placed my arms around his neck. I didn't care if we were close together or knew we were both blushing. I was just happy I get to dance the night with him.
