The team did some drills and then we split into our usual teams to scrimage. Once the ball was to me, I made a bee-line down the edge of the out-of-bounds line (My signature move) and did a lay-up. My team gained the first point again. Our game continued and We ended up in a tie, 35 to 35. Since we were on our break we decided to watch the girls play their scrimage match. On Lucy's team, she was the spiker, Erza was the setter, Mira was the other spiker, and Levy, Bisca and Evergreen were backrow hitters. On the other team, Lisanna was a spiker, Asuka was the setter, Juvia was a backrow hitter, and the rest of the girls that were in the other positions were friends with Lisanna.

Levy was up to serve and this would be her 6th serve to go straight in. She tossed the ball up and then slammed the heel of her hand into the ball, making fly past Lisanna and straight to the girl behind her. She saved it and got it to Asuka, and Asuka set it up for Lisanna to hit. Just as Lisanna's hand came down on the ball, Lucy jumped up and blocked her spike making it land right behind Lisanna. The girls cheered and met in the setter's area and high-fived each other. Lisanna and her team picked each other up with advice for next time. Their scrimage lasted for the rest of the practice and ended with Lucy's team winning 25-15. I jogged up to Lucy and her team and congradulated them, but we were interupted by the gym doors slamming open. Everyone turned and saw a group of boys and girls walking in. It's Sabertooth.

"Hello everybody. It's good to see you losers again, except for Lucy of course. She's the only person I enjoy seeing every time we play," Sting said and kissed Lucy's hand, and Lucy turned away blushing. I stepped in front of her and Sting,"Hi there, Sting."

"Oh, it's his royal highness, Natsu Dragneel. Still protective of your things I see," He said and shoved past me. I was about to attack him when I felt Lucy grab my arm and whisper,"He's not worth it." I sighed and turned back with a reassuring grin before walking away. I heard the Sabertooth girls giggle at me and the majority were waving flirtatiously. I heard my name being called and I jogged over to the bleachers to get ready and watch Lucy and her team. When the game began, Lucy wasn't in the right of mind. She was hesitant on her spikes and serves, which resulted in her being replaced by Lisanna. I watched Lucy hold her head in disappointment on the sidelines, but my 'Dragneel Motivation' senses started to tingle. I smirked and scribbled a note on a piece of paper, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it at her head. She slowly turned around and glared at me before seeing my smile, and picked up the ball of paper.

I wrote on the paper 'I'll get you a strawberry milkshake at lunch for each spike/serve. :)'. She turned back to me with stars sparkling in her eyes, and she nodded. Lucy never turns down a strawberry milkshake and probably won't until the day she dies. She tapped Cana on the shoulder and told her she was ready to play again, and Cana nodded. She waited until the next play before sending Lucy back in to serve. The Fairy Tail students cheered for Lucy as she got ready. After that one serve, Lucy had a long line of serves until one of Sabertooth's girls returned it and got it to their setter, Yukino. Then Yukino set it to their best spiker, Minerva, who then killed it by spiking it directly into Levy's ankle. I'm pretty sure the crack of her ankle was heard all around the gym. Everyone gasped as Levy cried out in pain and fell to the floor. Gajeel, Lucy, Cana, and the rest of the girls on the court had went to Levy. The entire gym was silent waiting for news about Levy's ankle or the game to be said.

Gajeel had lifted Levy up bridal style and carried her to the nurses office with Cana, leaving Gildarts to try and coach the volleyball team. Juvia was placed in for Levy, and the game continued. They beat Sabertooth, 25-23, and began to take down the net while the Sabertooth team went to sit with the Sabertooth boys. I went down to Lucy and we both went to the nurses office to see Levy and Gajeel. When we arrived, my aunt, Grandeeny, was wrapping some bandages around Levy's ankle and ordering Gajeel to get the spare crutches from the supply closet. "Levy! Are you ok?" Lucy ran to Levy and hugged her. Levy hugged back,"Luckily, it's just a hairline fracture. But who cares about that, did we kick Sabertooth's ass?" When it comes to Levy and Lucy's friendship, they try not to worry too much about eachother but about their sports and drama problems, but they are best friends. Lucy laughed and replied,"Of course we did. We're the best of the best and now we're going to state championships!" They both started squealing from happiness, and me Gajeel just stood there and grinned at the girls. "Levy will be fine, she'll just have to go to the hospital and get a cast and some real crutches. For now, you boys go and get ready for your game. It's important that you boys beat Sabertooth tonight to make it to the championships as well," Grandeeny said, and we both nodded before running out of her office, and going back to the gym. Before I turned the corner, Lucy yelled from down the hall,"We'll be there in a little bit!"

It was the final few seconds of the game, and Gray had just passed me the ball, but I couldn't go anywhere and I couldn't pass it to someone else. I was trapped at half-court, dribbling the basketball, with only 6 seconds left in the game. I did the only thing I could do, and went for the half-court shot. As soon as I jumped up and threw the ball, I knew that there was no going back unless one of my teammates had grabbed the ball. Everybody had stopped just to see what the ball would do, and what happened next felt like it was going in slow motion. The ball was flying straight for the goal, 5, everybody started to run to try and knock it out of bounds or to rebound it, 4, I began to sprint down there as well, 3, the ball landed on the rim, 2, it spun on it for a split second, 1, the ball fell through the hoop, 0. "AND FAIRY TAIL HIGHSCHOOL WINS WITH A LAST SECOND SHOT FROM THE HALF-COURT MADE BY NATSU DRAGNEEL!" The commentator yelled. I was actually dumbfounded by this one shot. One of the most impossible shots of basketball history.......... and I just made it within the last few second of the game. The only other person to ever make the half-court shot was my dad back in his sophomore year here at Fairy Tail Highschool. He had gotten an award and the game ball at the championship game just for that one shot, and I just made it within the last few seconds of the game. I'm still shocked by this, and I'm pretty sure my mouth mas wide open. Everybody had hit me on the back, and then Gildarts pushed my chin up with his index finger to close my mouth and scruffed my hair,"Nice shot, kid." I nodded, and looked at him,"I didn't think that would work, it was more of a last minute resort." Gildarts chuckled,"Your mind might have though that, but something in your heart thought you could make it." He walked away and me and the team had met in the center of the court and did the usual after game ritual and left to get our stuff. Lucy and the girls had came down to congradulate us, Juvia going to Gray, Erza striding over to Jellal, Levy limping on her crutches to Gajeel who looked worried, Mira went to Laxus, and then there was Lucy and Lisanna who looked at me then eachother, and then Lucy quickly made her way to me and then looked back at Lisanna and smirked. Lisanna glared at her and then walked to Bickslow on the other side of the court.

Lucy looked at me and then smiled. "Why do you two do that?" I asked and crossed my arms, looking at her skeptically. She blushed and started stuttering,"Uuuuuh, um, i-it's just athletic competition........ yeah, that's it." I smirked,"It seems to me that somebody's getting a little jealous~" She glared at me and then smirked as well,"Jealous? Me? What about you getting jealous of Sting?" A tick mark slapped itself onto my forehead and I said,"It's nothing like that, I just think he isn't the right person for you."

"So in other words........ your jealous?" Lucy asked poking my chest. "I'm not jealous!" I yelled, and glared at her. She started to laugh and then held her stomach,"Ok, ok, I'm done." I couldn't stay mad at her, and grinned, but then gasped and grabbed her shoulder's and began shaking her,"DID YOU SEE ME MAKE THAT AWESOME SHOT?! IT WAS AMAZING!" She laughed at my childness, and replied,"I saw. That was really impressive, almost as impressive as my long line of serves. By the way, you owe me 8 milkshakes this week/weekend. I chuckled,"Yeah. I suppose I do."

I'm going to be broke with all of the milkshakes I buy for this woman, I said in my mind. "Well, do you need a ride home? Grandeeny left her car keys with me and said she was goning to ride in the truck with Levy and Gajeel to the hostpital," I asked grabbing my stuff from the bleachers, Lucy nodded and said,"Yeah, just let me get my stuff." She turned and ran into the locker room. That was when I realized we were the only people left in the gym except for the janitor who was exiting the gym now. I heard a yell from the girls locker room and quickly ran in there. I know what you're thinking. "Natsu, you pervert! That's the girl's locker room!" Yeah yeah, but it's only Lucy in there, and it's not like she's naked or anything. When I reached the room where the girls kept there stuff, Lucy was scrambling trying to put out a ton of matches that were spread all over the floor and the fire that was on her stuff. I heard a door close to the side, and looked that way before looking back to Lucy and said,"Get some water from the sink in the bathroom and put out your stuff. I'll put out the matches." She nodded and ran into the bathroom. Just as I was about to put out the matches, I saw that they had formed a message.

Burn in hell, bitch

I was a little dumbfounded. Someone was doing this to Lucy, and she never mentioned this? Has this happened before? If so, how long has it been happening? I blinked a couple of times before stepping on the matches, picking them up, soaking them with water from the water fountain, and then throwing them in the trash can. "Who would do this to Lucy?" As I said that, Lucy came rushing in with a small cup full of water and she dumped it over the bag, killing the flames. We both sighed and she threw the bag away,"That's not savable." I glanced at the floor where the message of matches was made, and there were black marks where the flames tried to burn the concrete floor. I glanced back at Lucy who had a worried yet nervous expression when looking at me. Should I question her about the message? Yes, but will I question her at the moment? No. I'll give her some time and see if she'll come to me about it, but if she doesn't come to me about it soon, then I will question her. "Are you ok?" I asked and walked to her, examining her arms and hands and saw some burns on her hands, probably from her trying to grab the bag and carry it to a sink,"C'mon we can go to my house and get you fixed up." I gently pulled her along, even if she kept saying that they weren't that bad, but I know when burns are bad or not. I should know because that's how my mother died and how my father was scarred down his face, by a house fire. It was an accident, and I didn't know it had happened until it did.

"Natsu? Are you ok?" Lucy asked me in the car,"Y-You've been silent this entire time." I sighed and nodded,"Just thinking about my mom." She nodded and hugged her knees to her chest. Lucy knew my mother was a touchy subject, and she knows that I don't like to talk about her out loud. Although I did say I was thinking about her, and I am, but I'm also thinking about the message from the matches. Who would want to hurt Lucy or say that to her? She hasn't done anything wrong, and she wouldn't. I know she wouldn't. We arrived at my house, and I took her inside. My father, aunt, and my cousin Wendy were all sitting in the kitchen just eating pie. I grinned to myself to see them happy. "Natsu! I heard you made the half court shot at your game! That's my boy," my father Igneel said and patted my shoulder, but then averted his attention to Lucy,"Hello, Lucy. What a pleasant surprise, I didn't expect you to be here tonight."

"Actually, she's here to celebrate with us as well, but we need to go up stairs for a minute or two to change. Someone stole Lucy's stuff, so I was wondering if she could borrow some of mom's old clothes," I said. Dad said,"Of course. You know where they are at, Natsu." I nodded and grabbed Lucy's wrist again and pulled her up the staircase. My father is a buisness man and owned many companies, so it's obvious he'd want us living in a big house, although once you get used to it, you realize it's not that big. Lucy sat down on my bed while I got the first-aid kit and got to work on her burns. "Luckily, their only first degree, so no special trips to the hospital," I said with a chuckle. She smiled and said,"Thanks, Natsu. Um, listen, about the message-"

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to tell me,"I interjected glancing up at her before looking back to her hand. "But I need to tell you. We're best friends, Natsu, I should be telling you everything. I want to tell you everything," She said kind of upsettingly. I looked up at her now, looking her straight in those chocolate brown eyes and she was looking into my onyx eyes. "Are you sure?" I asked her and she nodded.

I wrapped her hand with the bandages and slid the first-aid kit away and crossed my legs on my bed, and she did the same.

"So........."
