Magnolia

After everyone got over the shock with the newly developed friendship, Mira announced that she was going to take Lucy out shopping for new clothes.

"I really don't need to, I should be just fine for now," Lucy tried to explain, waving her hands and swearing a little. Mira stood before her, a large smile on her face and an evil glint in her eyes.

"Nonsense! Nobody ever has enough clothes," Mira dismissed loudly, making the boys flinch. "I can introduce you to some more girls too. I mean, you boys are fine and all, but Lucy needs more girlfriends than just Erza and I," Mira said, waving her hand at the scowl on Gray's face.

"She can make more friends when school starts," Laxus said, shrugging. Mira gave him a glare that had him straightening instantly.

"There's no way I will let Lucy go into school without knowing more girls. Nobody wants to experience that awkward first day," Mira insisted firmly, her tone leaving no room for debate. Lucy stepped in before anyone else could protest, smiling at Mira.

"I would actually love to meet some more girls, that sounds nice," she mediated, smiling. Mira gave Laxus and Gray a superior look before hooking her arm through Lucy's and her other through Erza's. Lucy had already guessed that the white and red haired girls were friends, as Mira seemed to be the only one who touched Erza, so Lucy still wondered why her and Erza being friends was so weird. She brushed the thought aside though as Mira began dragging her out of the house. "Wait! What about money?"

"Don't worry about it," Laxus called back to her, smirking slightly. Lucy didn't like being kept in the dark about things, especially money, but she didn't have time to worry about it as Mira yanked her out the door.

Mira dragged Lucy and Erza to a silver BMW convertible that was sitting in the driveway. Lucy's mouth fell open as she stared at it, but Mira just giggled and pushed her towards the door. Carefully, Lucy opened the door and slid into the leather seats, the heat that the dark cover attracted from the sun warming her back. She shivered, the rest of her body feeling suddenly cold, and sunk back into the warmth with a sigh.

"Like warm things, huh?" Mira questioned as she slid into the driver seat. She stuck the keys in the ignition and the car started to life, vibrating under them. Lucy sighed and nodded, catching Mira's smirk in the rear view mirror before the blue eyed girl adjusted it.

"So what about the color pink?" Mira ignored the sudden choking sound Erza made. "You seem like a pink kind of girl."

"Mirajane!" Erza hissed, her eyes wide as she glanced between Lucy and her giggling friend. Lucy was curious to know what they were talking about, but felt like it was an inside thing.

"Yeah, I love pink," Lucy agreed a little hesitantly.

"Oh?" Mira said, contempt obvious in her voice, but whatever she was on before, she suddenly stopped. Erza sent her friend one last look before turning to glance back at Lucy.

"Don't mind her, she's way too into zodiac signs and all that," Erza dismissed with a sad look. Lucy's eyes lit up.

"Really? I like that stuff too!" Lucy said excitedly. Erza's face fell and she sighed, giving a look to Mira. Mira laughed and glanced at Lucy through the rear view.

"You wouldn't happen to be a cancer, would you?" Mira asked innocently.

"Actually, I am! My birthday's July 1 (actually looked this up. Pretty sure it's accurate. Sorry if not.)" Lucy smiled.

"How interesting," Mira hummed evilly, making Lucy frown and feel slightly nervous. She wanted to ask what was so interesting about it, but at that moment they pulled into a busy parking lot. Lucy stared at the mall with an open mouth, feeling the breath literally being taken from her lungs.

It looked like those futuristic malls you see on teen reality shows, but ten times larger. The mall was built from what looked like white marble and was filled in with seemlessly connecting glass panes. It was fave stories tall, and Lucy could see an abundance of people on every floor just through the windows.

"It's pretty incredible, isn't it?" Mira giggled, coming up next to Lucy's door. Lucy didn't even realize that Mira and Erza had gotten out, she was that amazed.

"That's a bit of an understatement," Lucy said breathily, still fighting to regain normal breathing functions. Erza chuckled and placed a hand on Lucy's shoulder, effectively snapping the blonde out of her reviews. She blushed and smiled apologetically, but Erza just smiled kindly.

"Mira just wanted to show you this because she knows the rest of Magnolia will be disappointing," Erza said with a wink. Mira shrugged unapologetically and grabbed both girl's wrists, smiling.

"Let's go! Levy, Lissana, and Cana will meet us inside," Mira explained before dragging them after her. Lucy was still stunned to realize that such a small girl like Mirajane could drag them around like they were nothing more than two pillows.

The three girls entered the mall and Lucy stared at the different shops with wide eyes. Mira watched with amusement as the blonde nearly keeled over at every new shop, but soon got bored and decided to just drag Lucy along. Lucy followed Mira, still gazing starstruckedly at the different shops. She'd never gone out very much back in America, her father was very strict when it came to going beyond the premises, but even the few malls she'd seen there had nothing on Magnolia town square. Lucy was pretty sure this was what love felt like.

"Ah, there they are!" Mira exclaimed and quickened her pace. Lucy, startled by the change of pace, tore her eyes from a beautiful fountain she was watching to look at the source of Mira's excitement. She spotted three girls sitting around a small cafe table, chatting.

The first girl Lucy noticed had light blue hair, just a shade lighter than Jellal's, and soft brown eyes. She had her hair pulled up by an orange headband and was wearing a cute orange tank top with blue shorts. The girl was small and slight.

Lucy slightly gasped at the sight of the girl besides the blue haired girl. The girl had familiar white hair that was cut in a bob and the same startling blue eyes that were embedded into her friend's face. Lucy put the connection together instantly; this girl was Mira's little sister.

The final girl was the tallest of the three and the most boisterously dressed. She wore tan leggings and what appeared to be a blue bikini top. She had long brown hair and black eyes and was drinking...was that beer? Lucy was almost positive it was.

"Hey everyone!" Mira said, stopping before the table. Lucy and Erza came to a stop besides her, and Lucy smiled at the three new girls. Thankfully there were no awkward pauses like earlier. Instead, the blue haired girl instantly hooped up and wrapped her arms around Lucy in a hug. Lucy laughed in surprise and hugged her back.

"It's so nice to meet you, Lu-chan," the girl said, pulling back to smile at Lucy. "My name's Levy McGarden, I'm a junior like you!"

"It's nice to meet you as well, Levy-chan," Lucy replied, making Levy smile. Lucy had never used Japanese greetings, and felt a little odd, but also happy. She smiled back at Levy, but was distracted my arms snaking around her from behind and grabbing her chest. Lucy squeaked as the hands squeezed her chest experimentally before letting go. She pulled away quickly, spinning to find the girl with the beer smiling at her.

"You've got big boobs," she said unabashedly, making Lucy blush brightly and cover her chest with her arms. Beside her, Erza and Levy sighed, while the two sisters giggled.

"Um...thanks?" Lucy said uncertainly, raising an eyebrow. The girl laughed, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

"And she's cute...my name is Cana, nice to meet you," Cana said, smiling and extending a hand. Lucy shook it awkwardly, retracting her hand back to cover her chest.

"Ah, don't mind Cana, she's drunk," Mira added in an undertone, winking. Lucy blinked in surprise but Mira grabbed her forearm and brought her towards the other white haired girl. "Lucy, this is my little sister, Lissana."

"Hello Lucy," Lissana said politely, leaning forward and enveloping Lucy in a tight hug. Lucy laughed and hugged back before pulling away.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, but I didn't know you had a sister?" She said, turning to Mira. Mira nodded distractedly, waving her hand.

"And a younger brother, you'll meet him later," Mira said with a smile. Her blue eyes lit up suddenly and she quickly turned, grabbing Cana by her arm. "Hey Cana, did you know that Lucy is a cancer?" She gave Cana a pointed look that no one else but Erza seemed to understand. The red groaned, obviously fed up with zodiac talk, but Lucy was still curious about the importance of her being a cancer.

For a moment, Cana also seemed to not have the slightest clue as to what Mira was talking about, but then her eyes lit up with realization and she gasped, smiling evilly. "Is that so?" She asked, chuckling.

"Um, why is that so important?" Lucy asked uncertainly, feeling slightly awkward with everyone's eyes on her. Something seemed to dawn in Levy's eyes, and she turned to Cana with a scoff.

"Are you still on that? There's absolutely no logic behind that," Levy said agitatedly, folding her arms with a pout. Cana laughed sympathetically at the bluenette and pat her head.

"Love isn't logical, Levy. I mean, just look at you and Gajeel," Cana poked, and Levy's face instantly turned red. She started stammering out excuses, but the amused look on Cana's face made her go silent and just sulk.

"What's this about love? And levy and Gajeel, really?" Lucy asked interestedly, raising an eyebrow.

"Don't tell me you know Gajeel!" Levy exclaimed, her blush getting brighter. Lucy giggled and shrugged.

"Big guy with piercings all over his face? Says about three words a sentence and looks ready to bite heads off babies? Yeah, I came across him," Lucy teased. The others laughed at Lucy's description; even Levy cracked a smile.

"He's really not that bad," she said quietly, coughing into her hand before straightening. "I guess that means you've met Natsu?"

"Natsu?" Lucy asked curiously. She vaguely recalled hearing the name, but she was sure she's never met him yet.

"Huh? You haven't met him yet?" Cans hummed with interest, sharing a smirk with Mira. Lucy shivered slightly, unsure if she wanted to meet this Natsu.

"Don't worry, you'll like him," Lissana dismissed all their friend's weird looks, smiling comfortingly at the blonde. "He's a bit childish, but he's nice."

"Well then I look forward to meeting him," Lucy smiled back. She heard giggling and turned to see Cana and Mira trying to block out their laughter, Erza and Levy just shaking their heads disappointedly.

"I'm sure you are," Mira stated and Lucy didn't miss the innuendo this time. She felt her cheeks redden, but chose to ignore them.

"So? Something about shopping, right?" Lucy tried, and that instantly snapped Mira to attention. Her eyes shone with new vigor and she grabbed Lucy tightly.

"To the clothes store!" She cheered, charging off into the crowd. Lucy laughed as she tried to catch up. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she wondered how her big bad cousin ended up with someone as sweet as Mirajane. Secretly though, she was grateful to the white haired girl. Even seeing them for twenty minutes showed the blonde that her cousin was happy and okay. She knew about his brotherly side, and she was glad that he was open enough here to allow himself love.

"Hey Mira?" Lucy said as the girl slowed down. The others caught up to them and began to talk about random things.

"Hmm? What is it Lucy?"

"Thank you," Lucy said quietly, smiling.

"For what?" Mira asked, smiling in confusion.

"I don't know," Lucy drawled off, smiling at the new friends around her. "Just thanks."

"Well then," Mira laughed, squeezing Lucy's hand, "you're just welcome."
