POV: Lucy

I opened my eyes to see that I was on my knees with my hands tied behind my back. I lifted my head to see Natsu and everyone was lined up in front of me, in the same position. Happy was on his side.

"Well I see you're awake!" I heard a loud voice say. I turned my head to look behind me to see that it was Tyler, and behind him was his guild, and behind them was the tree.

"What do you want with me?" I yelled at him. He walked around so that he was facing me, and smiled as he crouched down in front of me.

"You're going to find out." He said then looked at someone behind me and motioned for them to walk forward. I turned to look to see who it was.

"Suzie?" I said. She was wearing a purple tank top, like her hair, leather jacket and mini skirt, fishnet stockings and black leather combat boots.

"What? Surprised?" She asked putting her hands on her hips.

"What the hell is going on here?" I yelled.

"Well Lucy Heartfilia, as I can see you have already met my sister." Tyler said.

'What!'

"Oh and just so you know, your mission you came on, it's fake." Tyler started to explain. "This whole town was setup just for you."

"What! Why?" I asked.

"For you to come to us of course." Tyler laughed. "It really means alot to me that you came to us."

"I did come here for anybody!" I yelled. "I came here with my friends to do a job!"

"Yes." Tyler started. "And now you're going to finish that job, which is to extract the power from this tree!"

"I'm not doing anything for you!" I stated. Tyler looked at Suzie and nodded. She turned around and walked away from us, and towards Natsu and everyone. I tried to keep an eye on her but Tyler stepped in front of me, and crouched down.

"You will do what we say." Tyler said as Suzie walked back behind me where she was before.

"What the hell happened?" I heard Natsu say as he stirred. Tyler stepped out of the way so I could see everyone. Natsu and the others were all waking up.

"Hey are you guys okay?" I asked them. They all looked up at me.

"Yeah we're okay." Erza said.

"Speak for yourself!" Gajeel yelled. I looked over at him to see that he had a large gash in his arm, and was bleeding pretty bad. Everyone was beat up pretty bad. Especially Gajeel.

"What about you Luce?" Natsu asked struggling with his bindings. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. For now." I whispered the last part so no one heard it.

"Now, Lucy Heartfilia, go to the tree and extract its power! So you may take part of being our true guild master." Tyler said pointing to the tree.

"Never!" I yelled at Tyler. He walked up to me and grabbed my throat and started to choke me.

"You will extract the power from this tree!" Tyler said tightening his grip on my throat. I could feel my legs twitching from lack of oxygen. He then took me and thrusted me downwards, slamming the back of my head against the ground.

"You can't kill me!" I choked out. "You need me! So if you kill me your shit out of luck, asshole!" Tyler smiled and picked me up, still holding onto my neck, and threw me towards Natsu, who was in the middle of the line.

"Well, you're right about that." Tyler said, as I rolled onto my stomach, a few feet away from Natsu. I started coughing and gasping for air.

"You bastard!" I heard Natsu yelled, trying to undo the bindings.

"You won't be able to use your magic with those cuffs on!" Suzie yelled. "There my speciality."

"Aren't you that maid chick that worked for the mayor?" Gray asked, as I used my head to sit up.

"Everyone in the town is part of the guild, Shadow Fang. They set up the town and the stupid mission just to get me here." I said answering questions that were unasked.

"Well that's fucking retarded!" Gajeel commented. Tyler smirked having a great idea coming to mind. For him.

"Lucy Heartfilia!" Tyler said slowly walking up to me. I rolled onto my back and slowly pushed myself away from him. I backed up right into Natsu body. I looked up at him and he kept watching Tyler. "This is your last chance, to extract the power from the tree. Or else."

"Or else what?" I asked nervously. He was directly in front of me now. I tried to get closer to Natsu, feeling safer when near him. Tyler smirked and quickly reached down and grabbed the back of my hair and pulled me away from Natsu. All the feeling of safety, leaving my body and was overtaken by fear. I could feel the tears fall from my face.

"Or else, they will die!" He said turning me around while still holding onto my hair. I looked to see that standing behind everyone was someone with a knife, and was ready to slice my friend's throats open.

"No!" I screamed letting the tears fall. "No! Please don't! I'll do it! I'll do whatever you want!"

"Lucy! Don't!" Natsu yelled and tried to fight against the restraints. The man that held the knife to Natsu grabbed a fist full of his hair and pulled down and held the knife closer to Natsu neck. Everyone tried to fight back as well to get the man to let go of Natsu but they ended up the same way.

"No!" I screamed, while sobbing hard. "Don't hurt them!" I yelled. I spit in Tyler's face and swung my legs at Tyler, and got lucky enough to hit Tyler right in the balls. He dropped me and I fell to my side. I tried to get up and run and to help Natsu and everyone else, but someone else caught my hair and pulled on it, also putting a knife to my throat.

"Now you wouldn't want to do something like that now would we?" Suzie said. She held me in a position that I could see her face. She nodded at the man behind Natsu, and he slowly glide the knife along Natsu's neck drawing blood. He shut his eyes in pain.

"No! Stop!" I pleaded. "I won't do it again! I promise!" Suzie nodded again at the same man, and he stopped.

"You bitch!" I heard Tyler yell as he got up and slapped me across the face. I fell to the ground, and looked up to see that Tyler was going to strike me again. Before he even got close to me Suzie stopped him.

"Enough!" She yelled. "You know the master wants her body to be in best shape." Tyler nodded and took a deep breath.

"Miss Heartfilia, if you would get on with it already." Tyler said motioning to the tree. I started walking forward and stopped so Suzie could cut the ropes off of my wrists.

"But, I don't know how." I said honestly.

"Don't worry." Suzie said. "You're the only person that can do this. So it will come to you."

"Can I ask a favor before I do this?" I asked. Tyler let out an annoyed sigh.

"What is it?" Suzie asked ignoring her brother.

"Well two things actually." I said. "One: I want to be able to say goodbye." I said gesturing towards Natsu and everyone.

"That's reasonable." Suzie said nodding. "And two?"

"And two: you have to promise that none of them will get hurt after I do this." I said. Suzie looked at her brother, who rolled his eyes.

"Fine!" He said looking even more annoyed. "No one in the guild will harm a hair on any of their head's. Now go say your pathetic goodbye, before I change my mind"

"Thank you." I cried. I looked to see the the people that were standing behind everyone pulled them into a circle and I sat down in a empty spot. The mages walked away so we could have some privacy. It was silent for a minute and we looked down at the ground.

"This is bull shit!" Natsu yelled. I looked up to see that he was fighting tears. "Luce you have to get out of here!" Natsu whispered.

"No." I said in a whisper. "I'm not going to leave any of you here to die! And don't even try to change my mind, I'm not going anywhere!"

"Lucy don't worry about us. We'll be fine." Levy tried to convince me to leave.

"No! I'm not leaving!" I yelled at them in a whisper.

"Damn it woman! Why are you so damn stubborn?" Gajeel asked.

"Because I love all of you too much to just leave you here!" I admitted. I looked at the ground not wanting to see their faces. "I love you all!" I said standing up. I then walked away from them with tears running down my face.

"No Lucy!" Natsu yelled. I very much wanted to turn around and run back to them. Back to Natsu. But I knew the price that would paid if I did. "Lucy don't!" I turned my head as I kept walking away. Everyone was fighting against the people who were now holding knifes to their throats again. But it looked like they didn't care. Especially Natsu. He was pushing against the knife causing blood to run down his chest. I was a few feet from the tree when I stopped walking and turned my body to face Natsu.

"Natsu." I whispered, knowing he would hear me. He stopped fighting and looked at me. He was still fighting the tears, and looked like he was about to lose that fight. "Please stop. And make sure you keep your promise." He looked at me with confusion and then he remembered. And the tears finally escaped the corner of his eyes. Seeing Natsu cry caused me to cry harder. "I'm sorry."

"Lucy!" He yelled as I turned away from him and placed my hand on the tree. I closed my eyes in consecration in extracting the tree's power. I started thinking about the sadness that was happening just behind me. And the sadness that would happen when they got home and told Fairy Tail, why I didn't return.

'I will miss them. I will miss you Natsu. I love you!'

Then there was a large flash of light that came from where my hand was on the tree. I looked to see the veins in my arm was turning different colors as the magic seeped into my body. I turned to look back at my friends one more time. And I see Natsu's face. I smile getting to see him one last time. Knowing that I love him more than anything.

'I'm so sorry Natsu! I will never forget you!'
