Chapter 8- Relaxation before the storm.
Wendy sighed as she whipped away the small bundle of sweat on her forehead while walking out of the infirmary after she had finished checking up on Lucy, the blue haired girl's hair slightly sticking to her skin because of the small perspiration that covered her body.
"Wendy!! How is she?" Asked Mira to the girl hurriedly as she ran over to her, almost tripping on her dress in the process but was able to balance herself quickly thanks to her caring boyfriend who was just a few feet behind her and was lucky enough to catch her in time.
Wendy giggled at her white haired friend, giving Mira a small reassuring smile as she nodded at her, Mira immediately sighing in relief at that.
"Don't worry, she's perfectly fine, she's just had not been properly taking care of her body that's all." Explained Wendy to her, tugging a small strand of her blue hair back at her ear. "Can you prepare something for her to eat when she wakes up? She really nee--"
Mira eyes widened at the girl's question as she quickly vigorously nodded her head at her, cutting off her words in the process. "Yes!! Of course!! I'll get right on to it now!!"
"Amazing." Laughed out Wendy as she waved at Mira's retreating giddy form to the kitchen. Making sure that the white haired woman was finally out of sight, Wendy sighed as the smile that she had on her face instantly dropped.
"Laxus-san." Called out Wendy to the blonde haired man with a voice clearly lacing seriousness in it. "Lucy's really, really not okay."
Laxus brows jumped at that, as his eyes widened in shock, worry overcoming his features instantly as he grabbed Wendy by both of her shoulders looking her dead in the eye. "What do you mean she's not okay?"
Wendy gulped as her own eyes were wide because of Laxus's action, as she hesitantly uttered out to him with a small drop of her head down to look at the wooden ground under her. "Well...the baby's fine. As for her..."
Panic overcame Laxus mind at Wendy's hesitancy, as a small voice in his mind screamed at him to go and beat the hell out of Natsu for leaving Lucy like that after putting her out in this state in the first place.
"....we just, I just need to give her some vitamins and a few medications for--"
"Yes yes!" Exclaimed out Laxus to Wendy in relief. "I'll get her anything that she needs, if it's money your worrying about I can buy them myself for her a--"
"No, Laxus-san, it's not about the money." Sighed out Wendy as she shook her head slowly while her dark blue bangs swayed from left to right at her action.
Of course Wendy wouldn't be worried about something as stupid as the money.
She was worried about Lucy.
Sure her baby was in perfect health and condition for being only 3 month old, but Lucy's body was far from being in perfect condition. The blonde haired woman had slimed down so much and had lost so much weight that it wasn't healthy for a pregnant woman like her. Wendy guessed that in those past 3 month when she first got pregnant in the first place Lucy didn't know how to handle something like this.
And especially after Natsu leaving her a week ago, she was sure that the stress and anxiety from him being far away from her was eating her out from the inside.
"This is all my fault!" Exclaimed Wendy in frustration as she shook her way out of Laxus tight hold on her shoulders, taking the man by surprise at her sudden action. "I--I shouldn't of left her! I was so fed up with the fact that Gray and Natsu almost..."
A small sob cracked out of her mouth.
"...that I just dared t--to--"
Another sob.
"...That I just left her like that!" Cried out Wendy in frustration while Laxus could only watch her in pitty as she wailed before him.
Laxus perfectly understood her point of view. Laxus knew that Wendy of course found out about Lucy's pregnancy before him.
After all, dragon slayers can detect any smells, and Lucy's usual vanilla smell didn't really usually appeal a little ashy to Laxus's nose.
It was weird.
It was like Natsu's smell had entered her's.
Quite literally if you know what I mean. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Anyway--
"Wendy." Called out Laxus softly as he placed his hand on her shoulder while crouching down to reach her eye level. "I know--no, I perfectly understand you. But--"
Wendy's glassy eyes innocently twinkled like small piercing stars at Laxus's next words.
"--don't blame yourself for any of this."
Her bottom lip wobbled slightly, as she wanted to punch herself for being the crybaby she always was.
"This isn't your fault Wendy." Muttered out Laxus eith the kindest of tone his gruff voice could muster, ashis thump gently whipped away the tears that spilled out of Wendy's brown eyes.
"If anything it's Natsu's and Lucy's fault for not controlling their--"
"S--Stop." Stuttered out Wendy as a laugh while whipping her tears away with her own hands. Laxus grinned at her response, the blonde proud he was able to get this kind of happy reaction out of her.
"No but seriously, they've been controlling themselves all these years and now they devided to ho--"
"Laxus-san!"
And as small giggling and laughter emitted out from both Laxus and Wendy, the two dragon slayers didn't get to notice the presence of a certain dark purple haired boy who was spying on them the whole time.
Or maybe they did...?

"Romeo-kun?"
The purple haired boy flinched at his name being called, as he turned around to see the owner of the voice.
"Ah, Wendy-chan." Said Romeo softly as he smiled at the petite girl in front of him, who gave him a small sheepish smile.
"I'm sorry if I'm invading your privacy or something." The girl said as she walked her way towards the boy who peered over at her confusingly at her words. "I just thought that you might want some company--"
"Please, be my guest." Romeo gentlemanly offered to Wendy while scooting a small space for her to sit on beside him. The girl giggled slighty at his words and sat beside him not forgetting in muttering out a small "thank you" to his offer.
"So," she said while lowering her dress to cover up her thighs better. "The roof huh?"
Rome chuckled at her, giving her a small nod in response.
"Yeah." Voiced out Romeo as his eyes peered down at the people of Magnolia wondering around from his seat up on the guild's rooftop. "The roof."
"Is it like your quiet place?" Wondered Wendy as she looked up the piercing bright stars that decorated the dark night sky above her. Romeo smiled at her words.
Indeed, the guild's rooftop was his quiet place.
His only quiet place in fact.
"But why?" Asked a loud Wendy as if she had already guessed his answer or read his thoughts. "It's not really quite quiet up here."
Romeo couldn't agree more to Wendy words as he chuckled when he saw to drunkard men picking a fight with each other not too far away from the guild's grounds.
"I like to sit on high levels." Finally answered back Romeo to Wendy who curiously frowned at his words. "It really calms me down when I'm thinking to much."
Wendy's eyes enlarged at his words "ah." She simply let out to Romeo while her eyes didn't get any smaller. "I wish I had such a place."
"A high place?" Playfully asked her Romeo, Wendy rolling her eyes as she lightly punched his shoulder.
"No silly" Said Wendy while directing a small playful glare to the chuckling boy. "I meant a place where I can calm down my thoughts."
Romeo nodded in understanding to her as he scooted closer on the edge of the guild's rooftop towards the dark blue haired girl.
"It'd really be nice I guess." Continued Wendy as she sighed after her words while rubbing her head gently. "I don't know."
"Did Lucy wake up yet?" Asked Romeo feeling the need to change their conversation before he'd make such a serious conversation awkward. Wendy nodded at him at this.
"Mira made her some soup, and Laxus bought her all the medicines that she needed." Said Wendy as she turned her head around to look at Romeo. "Porlyusica-san is coming to check up on her tomorrow."
"You called her?"
Wendy chuckled at Romeo's mix of surprise and curious question.
"Yes, I did in fact."
Romeo chuckled at her. "I bet she flipped when hearing your voice."
Wendy giggled slighty at his words, as she shook her head in denial at Romeo, who frowned at her with a small smile. "Actually, she didn't. I was surprised myself."
"Wait seriously?"
"Yupe." Popped out Wendy as she swung her legs on the edge beside Romeo. "It was kinda freaky. Like she knew it was me before I even called."
"That is freaky." Emphasised Romeo, the boy cringing in his place as Wendy threw her head back while letting out a loud laugh.
"I still love her though."
"I do to...but she still freaks me out.
"Get out of it."
"I won't cause I'm right."
"No your not."
Romeo narrowed his eyes accusingly at the girl at this who rolled her eyes at him while shaking her head with a sigh.
"Stop bad talking my teacher you bad spy!!"
Romeo blushed at the girl's comment, as he turned his head away from her with wide eyes.
"I--I am not a--!!"
"I noticed you there." Simply stated out Wendy to Romeo. "You really shouldn't spy on dragon slayers you know."
With a small snarl followed by a pout, Romeo uttered out to Wendy with crossed arms--
"Get out of it."

1 month.
A whole month passed by since the incident that occurred between Gray and Natsu on cacao island.
It's been a whole month and the guild, the townspeople and the world hadn't heard anything about the two in a whole month.
It was like they disappeared.
It was like the incident was none existing and had never happened.
Lucy was now 4 month pregnant, her belly now proudly poking out for everyone to know and see that the woman was indeed pregnant. However, everyone in the guild didn't question her of how she had arrived to such a state, but in fact only congratulated her warmly and took great care of her, some of them going to her house everyday to bring or ask her anything that her heart desires. Levy also practically moved in with the girl to help her out everyday.
Juvia was the most one who took care of Lucy, even going as far of paying her rent because the girl was obviously in no condition of going on a mission anytime soon, so she took that matter to her own hands. The blue haired woman thought was an immensely bad state that past month, her body growing weaker and weaker, as depression started to eat at her being after not of hearing anything of her precious Gray for a whole month.
Nevertheless, life was going smoothly to all of them, and none of the Fairy's would dare to mention a word about Natsu or Gray, as they were afraid their whole mood would be ruined if they did.
But of course, such a matter cannot stay hidden forever.
And that fact was prooven right when one fateful night a certain someone appeared in Juvia's house...
