Chapter 55: Dinner Date

Hello minna~

Art is by blanania on Tumblr. She is amazing.

Okay, besides school work, I honestly don't have any excuse for not updating. I just like to procrastinate..... a lot.

And I kind of doubt binge watching Parks and Recreation until the very last episode is a valid excuse......

I'M SORRY!

Warning: Gajeel's got a potty mouth

~No One's POV~

"No, Mira, for the last time you can't come with us to eat." Lucy groaned loudly as she pinched the bridge of her nose. She had been having this argument with the barmaid for the past fifteen minutes.

She whined back, "But why? I promise I'll be quiet. You won't even know I'm there. Plus, I'll turn the flash off on my camera!"

"Lucy, again I am so sorry for her." Lisanna whispered to the blonde. She then spun on her heel and faced her older sister. "C'mon, Mirajane, we have to leave them alone now."

"No way! I'm not missing on all the moments!" She said in the tone of a toddler.

The blonde girl dragged her hand down her face dramatically, "What moments?"

"The romantic ones!"

"Oh my Mavis, please stop."

Across the way, the rest of the group sat next to one another on a bench. They watched in awe as the girls continued to bicker.

Natsu stared at them as if they were about to start a fist fight. When they didn't, he slumped back into the bench and let out an exhausted moan.

"Oi, Luce, can we go yet?" he called out to her.

She turned, only for a brief moment, frowned at him and waved him away. She was too involved in the conversation to yell at the dragonslayer.

Gajeel was just as bored as he was. He stomach growled at the world as he waited for the three girls to make a damn decision.

Levy tried to reassure him, "I'm sure they're almost done."

She was trying to keep a positive mood. After all she was having a great time with Gajeel, up until Mira had ran onto the rink and tackled the two of them.

They were soon asked to leave after Mira started making rather inappropriate teases towards Levy and some violent threats towards Gajeel for not proposing. It was mighty embarrassing to say the least.

"That's a load of bull and you know it, Shrimp." Gajeel said. His gut let out another painful growl. "I'm about twenty seconds away from eating the legs of this bench."

"Fine then, but you have to take at least one picture of something romantic!" They heard Mira shout from across the street.

They looked up and saw Lucy with her hands up defensively. "Alright, alright, now do do we have a deal?"

"Deal!" She smirked as she shook one of her hands. "Pleasure doing business with you, Luce!"

"Hey, only I'm allowed to call her that." Natsu yelled from beside them. She replied with a quick apology, not missing the blushing blonde.

Lisanna and Lucy said their farewells to one another as she dragged her sister away. "Have fun on your date with Natsu! You too, Levy!" She called over her shoulder.

"L-Lisanna!"

"Lu-chan, w-what did you tell her?" She whispered horrified by her comment. There wasn't a single person who didn't have their cheeks stained red.

"Bunny girl, what's going on?" Gajeel squinted his eyes at her. He was still currently trying to down all the blood that was rising to his cheeks. He'd be damned if Levy caught him blushing. "If you want to go out with flame face over here, that's fine, but don't drag us int--"

He was cut off when Lucy had taken off her sandal and chucked it at his face. "Shit, that hurt!" Gajeel cried out before getting attacked by another flying footwear.

"Shut up, Metal mouth!" the blonde huffed. Her face was a dark shade of crimson. "Natsu, give me your shoes."

"H-how about we go and eat now?" Levy suggested in a nervous tone. Her best friend was about to beat the stuffings out of her crush.

Natsu chimed in, "Y-yeah, lets all calm down now. No need to fight."

"Ironic, coming from you." Gajeel and Lucy both said in unison as the turned towards him.

"OI!"

"Yup, we're going now." She exclaimed before any more fights started. Although it would be entertaining, she'd rather not see the two fight Natsu.

The tables were set out outside in front of the boardwalk. The sun was just beginning to set and dip down into the ocean horizon.

A waitress showed them the way to a table nearest to the beach. From where they sat, they could look out at the ocean perfectly.

"Here you are, ladies and gentlemen. Your waiter will be with you shortly." The woman gave a short now before returning to the front desk.

They all took their seats and the ladies laid their napkins in their laps. Levy leaned towards her friend, "Lu-chan, I didn't know this was going to be so....formal. I would have dressed up more."

"I agree with the midget, I'm feeling some serious déjà vu." Gajeel said while looking down at the pair.

"Yeah, Natsu, I thought we were going to some casual restaurant." Lucy hissed at her partner. It wasn't like she was unimpressed--trust me she I say she was mighty impressed--she just didn't expect such a place from Natsu.

"What? You told me to bring us somewhere that was 'appropriate for the event'." He said the last part in a mock female voice.

"I don't sound like that." She muttered under her breath.

Levy ignored her and questioned the boy, "Wait, what type of 'event' do you think this is?"

Crap.

"Duh," He rolled his eyes. He leaned back in his chair comfortably and looked at the bluenette. "It's a da--OW, Lucy!"

Natsu glared at her as he clutched his bruising side. And he was the violent one?

She laughed it off playfully, and she ignored Natsu's protests. "It's a friendly, er, get together of course. No awkwardness here. Right, Natsu?"

"Damn, your elbows are sharp." He mumbled.

Natsu suddenly felt a murderous aura surround the girl beside him. Remind him to never piss off Lucy again, she can be just as angry as Erza.

Levy shifted awkwardly in her seat, now self conscious of her attire. She rubbed her arms nervously and stared down at her empty plate.

She felt a hand slap her head gently. Levy looked up and saw Gajeel looking the opposite way from her. Even from where she was sitting, she could see a light blush dust his cheeks.

"Calm down, you look fine." He muttered into his hand, still refusing to make eye contact.

A small smile graced her lips as her body slowly relaxed into her chair. "Thanks, Gajeel."

They group continued to make small conversations until their waiter came.

"Bonjour, mes amis, I will be your waiter tonight. My name is Stephen." The guy said in a ridiculously fake French accent. His dark brown hair was slicked back with a pound of grease. "And might I say you all look like wonderful couples."

"O-oh, no, we're not..." Lucy stuttered while shaking her head.

Levy stammered as well, "T-this isn't a d-date..."

"W-we are just friends." They pointed towards the boys that sat beside them. Both of the girls were oblivious, however, to the boys slumping into their chairs.

"Oh, none of you are dating? My apologies, but..." He leaned down and pecked Levy's hand while sending a wink towards Lucy. "That would mean you two lovely ladies are free?"

He sent the girls a flirtatious grin, to which both ladies rolled their eyes in disgust. Stephen was about to continue his obnoxious flirting when he caught sight of the murderous men sitting behind the girls.

Gajeel had his hand formed into a metallic spear while Natsu had his entire hand engulfed in flames. It was easy to get the picture.

He gulped loudly, "Actually, I-I'll go get you guys some drinks on the house. G-goodbye." The waiter dashed away before he became a flaming shish kabob.

"Wow, what an ass." Lucy laughed as she faced her best friend.

She giggled into her hand, "I know, right? If he pulls something like that again, I'll have to throw my drink at him."

"That creep'll deserve it." The blonde replied confidently. She picked up her spare knife from her collection of utensils and pretended to jab the air. "Or we could shank him."

"And steal his wallet while we're at it." They joked and bursted into a fit of giggles.

Meanwhile their dates were slowly inching away from them with wide eyes. They only grew more concerned throughout the evening when the continued to joke about other forms of torture.

"They're insane." Gajeel whispered to his fellow dragon slayer.

"I know." He nodded. "They can definetly defend themselves."

But that didn't stop them from sending threatening glares at the waiter every time he passed by their table.

Serves the bastard right. Don't try to take a dragon's treasure.

TA-DAH! End of chapter!

Hope you liked it and don't have high expectations for me.

Also, to my manga readers, Gray is the biggest fart wad in the history of the world.
