Chapter 49: Gajeel's Present
Hello minna~
Sorry for the late update. I've been busy binging Horror movies and reading Blood of Olympus. No spoilers!
Also here's a tip, do not try to blast 'Spooky Scary Skeletons' from an intense speaker with it pointing at your family members, or outside the window.
Bad things will happen to good people. And the bad people. Just don't do that.
*GERMAN SURPLEX*
Warning for language in this chapter and a creepy pervert.

~Levy's POV~
Lucy and I started dragging the boys onto the dock. Unfortunately for us, after Juvia and Gray attacked us, the two dragon slayers had worn off their Troia.
I was pulling Gajeel by his arms, which believe me was difficult enough. Lucy was almost carelessly tugging on Natsu's scarf. She must of dealt with this type of problem a lot with him.
"Levy-chan, are you sure you can pull him?" She suddenly asked me. I gave her a small, embarrassed smile.
I nodded, "Yeah, I can totally, ugh, do this. He's just a little, ugh, heavy..." I grunted with each step. I doubted he was even trying to help me.
"Shrimp," He groaned in pain. Gajeel was slowly getting his health back. "I think I'm going to die."
Or maybe not.
"You are not going to die, idiot." I rolled my eyes. At first glance, I doubt anyone would peg Gajeel for the dramatic type. But here he is.
He let out a deep sigh, "I totally will. Levy, listen." I stiffened as he said my name. "When I die, I want to leave this world with no regrets."
"A-alright." I stammered. Lucy sent me a smile before lugging Natsu with the others.
"So I want to tell you..."
My heart pounded so loud in my chest that I could here it ringing in my ears. Did he actually think he was going to die? I stopped in my tracks and stared ahead of me, not daring to look him in the eyes.
"W-what?"
"That you should probably work on your magic. Your iron tastes terrible." He stared at me with an expression of seriousness. And possibly pity.
All the embarrassment that I once had melted away in the air and was replaced with pure anger. "Idiot!", I cried put as I kicked him into the ocean.
I watched him sputter around as he gasped for breath before turning on my heel and stomping off towards a laughing Lucy.
"Ah, crap!" I heard him shout to me. "It was a joke. Shrimp!" I spent the moments before striking up a conversation with Lucy debating whether I should show him my middle finger.

"He did what?",the girls gawked at me. I had just finished telling them what Gajeel had done. We were gathered around the living room, patiently waiting for our dinner to finish baking. I could practically smell the seasoned chicken that was occupying the oven.
Juvia and Lisanna seemed somewhat bewildered by his actions, while Lucy and Erza looked as if they were already planning Gajeel's murder. "How dare he joke around with a young maiden's heart. Does he not know how fragile our dear Levy is?"
I rolled my eyes as the red head started spinning off into rants about Victorian age murder plans that she would inflict upon him. Tonight was one of the off chances that Mira was going to take a break from her shipping adventures.
Juvia tapped her nails against the arms of her chair. She hummed to herself, "Maybe Gajeel-kun was just trying to flirt with Levy? He always seemed like someone to do that."
I ignored the blush that was spreading across my cheeks, "O-of course not. Gajeel would never flirt, let alone with me."
"I don't know, Levy-chan." The blonde smirked, "He seems to be quite attached to you. Kind of like how dragons are to their most prized possessions."
I scoffed, "Like you would know about dragon-slayers loving someone. You can't even see when one is head over heels for yourself!"
Her face flamed with blush as she snapped back at me, "Natsu and I are not like that. Stop trying to change the subject."
"Lucy is right, even if she is in denial herself." Juvia started, obviously earning a complaint from the blonde. "Juvia has know Gajeel-kun for a long time in Phantom Lord. He has never acted this way to any girl but you."
I stared at her in astonishment. Was that true? I took pride in knowing that, but I didn't want to admit it. To the others or myself.
Mira called from the kitchen, "Dinner's ready, come get your grub." I sighed in relief as the girls momentarily forgot about Gajeel and I and focused on more important matters. Like who would get the first piece.

After dinner, everyone changed into their pajamas but myself. I didn't feel particularly tired. Lucy had uncovered some horror video games from the closet and were about to play them on the television.
"Hey Lisanna," I tapped the girl on the shoulder. She spun around and smiled at me.
"Yeah, what's wrong, Levy?" She asked me.
I pointed towards the door, "I'm not really tired so I was thinking of going on a walk. Don't tell the others, alright?"
She nodded as I hurried out the door. In a few minutes I was walking out the hotel doors and walking along the side of the beach. Not many people were out tonight, which was strange considering how beautiful it looked outside.
The moon was just appeared across the horizon as the stars began to for the sky. The cool wind slapped generously against my bare arms. I should have brought a coat.
I was just about to turn the corner when I felt something grab my wrist. I spun around and saw a large unfamiliar man towering over me.
He had a fat body with a belly peeking out from under his shirt. A mustache was just evident on his ugly lips that formed a smirk. He reeked of alcohol. "Hey you, ain't you one of them Fairy Tail wizards?" The man slurred.
"Yes I am," I hissed at him, trying to hide the fear in my voice, "Now would you please let go of me."
He chuckled, a dark chuckle that made my blood run cold. "Of course not, fairy. I just want to have a little fun with ya'."
One of his large, hairy hands grabbed ahold of my other wrist, while his free hand reached over and hovered just above my chest. I sucked in a deep breath and tried to unfreeze myself.
Before he could touch me, I brought my leg back and swung it forward with as much force as I could muster. He howled in pain as my foot collided with his special place.
He toppled onto the ground, but recovered too quickly for my liking. "You stupid bitch!"
I was about to run away, when a figure came into view. The second man punched the pervert in the jaw and sent him flying.
He turned to me and spoke softly, "You alright, Shrimp?" Gajeel.
I bit back a sob as a jumped towards his chest. I wrapped my arms around his waist, letting the tears fall down my cheeks. "T-thank you, Gajeel. I-I was so scared and-"
I stiffened when I felt his arms wrap around my back. "It's fine. You did great. I only spotted you when you ended up kicking him right in the nuts. That was pretty cool."
I sniffled letting a smile creep onto my face. He brought a soft hand up to my face and started wiping away the tears that marked my face. "So stop crying, you idiot. I don't like it when you cry.
My face was already colored a deep shade of red, but through the darkness I could make out a small tinge of pink that dusted his cheeks. He was blushing.
I nodded and let my smile spread into a grin. Gajeel smiled back and wrapped his hand in mine, "C'mon, shortie. Let's get you back to the hotel. And stop grinning, you look creepy."
"Alright." I said kindly, not letting my grin waver. We walked side by side back to the hotel. The cold wind was getting stronger by the minute. I let out a shiver that did not go unnoticed by the dragon slayer.
His deep voice broke the comfortable silence, "You cold?" I didn't say anything but instead nodded.
Before I knew what was happening, his jacket was thrown over my shoulders. It instantly warmed me up. I glanced at him as he wrapped his arm securely around my shoulder.
"T-thank you." I muttered, pulling the jacket tighter around my body. "Hey, Gajeel? Where is Pantherlily?"
"Hmm, he's back at the hotel with that flaming idiot's cat. They said they were planning something or whatever, I dunno." He mumbled off the last part, losing interest in the topic.
We were almost at the hotel when I asked him another question, "Why were you out walking anyway?"
He froze and stared off in another direction. "N-no reason."
That's when I noticed a small bag thy he was trying to hide in his other hand. "What's that bag? Did you buy something?"
"Well, I-it's for you." Gajeel shoved the bag into my empty hand. Before I could open it, he continued, "I was acting like a jerk after that her ski race, which we totally would have won if that ice prick and Juvia didn't cheat."
I giggled at his explanation and opened the bag. As I looked at the gift, I let out a surprised gasp. "I heard you and Bunny Girl screaming about that book at the guild before we came here. The new one came out just a few days ago so I thought you would like it."
I lifted up a fresh, hard cover copy of the book that I've been waiting for. In neat letters, the cover read The Heroes of Olympus: The Blood of Olympus. I squealed and gave him another hug.
"Thank you so much, Gajeel. I love it!" I didn't care that both of us were matching the color of Erza's hair, I was too excited.
He escorted me all the way to our apartment doors. The entire time there, I had been ranting on about the new book and what I thought was going to happen.
As we finally stood in front of the doors, I turned and smiled at him. "Thanks again, Gajeel. For everything."
"No problem, pip squeak." His frown turned upward into a smile.
I gasped and pointed at his face. "You smiled! You actually smiled, I told you I could do it."
He was frozen for a moment, before his grin spread wider. "I guess you right. Y'know, sometimes I think you love books more than people."
I had just grabbed my key from the front pocket of my pants when I stopped. "Not all people." I whispered so quietly that I doubted anyone could hear me. Unfortunately for me, Gajeel has that stupid super hearing.
Before I could chicken out and lose my confidence, I quickly turned on my heel and stomped over to him.
I grabbed ahold of his shirt and yanked him down so we were at eye level. A furious blush masked both of our cheeks as I pressed my lips softly onto his cheek.
I hurried to my door, not daring to look back at his dumbfounded face, and pushed the door open. I slammed the door behind me and sprinted into the living room.
I crashed into a certain confused looking blonde. She grabbed ahold of my shoulders with a face shining with worry. "Levy-chan, are you okay. You're freaking out and your face is all red-"
She stopped mid sentence as her eyes grew wide, as well as her smirk. "Levy-chan," Lucy smiled, "Were you with Gajeel?"
"I am such an idiot!" I cried and fell to the floor. How could I do that? What the hell is wrong with me?
What am I going to do?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OCTOBER YES! My favorite month of the entire year. And that's not just because it's my birth month. My dad and I harass my hometown each year with haunted houses and Halloween parties!
I went to a Haunted House yesterday with a few of my friends and my coping mechanism with being scared is laughing. It got really out of hand.
All of my friends were screaming their heads off while a guy with a chainsaw chased us down the hallway. While I was laughing hysterically like it was the funniest thing in the world. My friends thought I had no fear, but in all honesty I was probably the most terrified out of them all.
