Chapter 48: Race from Hell

Wassup Minna~

The new episode (201) just had me really pumped up for a bunch of NaLu moments. But nope, at least Virgo was being her Virgo-y self. So I am satisfied! (plus Team Natsu time)

And I had to babysit my younger brother and I was doodling Happy (which he insisted was the cat from Animal Crossing) and asked to see what he was from. He is know obsessed with Fairy Tail. He started screaming "I'm all fired up" at my older brother whenever he tried to speak. So proud.

Also, I have another check up on my Fairy Tail friend. She was an episode away from finishing the Edolas Arc, which she loved with all her heart, when she asked me something insane.

"Wait, so if Pantherlily comes back and is a tiny Exceed, does that mean they'll try to take Lisanna back, too? Gasp, does that mean Lisanna is going to be a tiny Exceed?!" I have never laughed so hard.

Imagine a tiny little Lisanna Exceed. The worst part was that she was fully serious. I kept cracking up while she just looked really deep in thought.

Okay, I need to get back to the chapter!

~No One's POV~

The four jet skis lined up together in the rippling ocean. The drivers, the boys and Erza, sent one another intimidating glances.

Mira and Lisanna were sitting sideways on their ski. The Exceeds had joined them while Romeo and Wendy decided to just go and ride.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" The silver haired girl asked everyone. They all nodded and she looked desperately at her sister.

Mira was grasping a camera to her chest and shaking in anticipation. A wide grin was stretched across her face. "No, this is perfect. Just think of the cuteness!"

"Natsu, you're gonna get us killed!" The blonde slapped the side of his head. He was, once again, fiddling with the buttons.

He rolled his eyes, "Stop being a drama queen, Lucy."

She pinched his cheeks an began to yank them in opposite directions. "Say that again, dumbass."

"Drama queen."

Levy sighed under he breath as she watched her best friend attack the dragon slayer. She slapped her forehead, "She'll never learn, will she?"

"What're you saying, Shrimp?" Gajeel turned and stared down on the bluenette.

"N-nothing. Just looked forward so we can get this over with."

"Will do, tiny."

"Gray-sama, you must not let the others win. We must beat them!" Juvia declared as she squeezed her boyfriend's arm.

"Alright, I'll kick their asses." Gray chuckled as he looked determinedly at the ocean in front of him. It would have looked awesome if it wasn't for his unconscious stripping.

Erza gasped and reached over her jet ski and punched his jaw. "Would you put your clothes on?! Honestly, I thought you would learn." She turned towards Juvia and bowed her head apologetically, "I'm so sorry for this idiot's perverseness. Thank you for still loving him."

"Nice job, Ice Cube!"

"You want to go, Hot Hazard?"

Natsu smirked and let out let out a chuckle at his awful nickname. "Why thank you, Gray. I am quite hot."

"Pfft, not what I meant. You could be considered hot when the sun freezes over." He quickly retorted. Juvia looked horrified with him as he began mumbling about her boyfriend planning to destroy the sun.

"I am so hot!"

"Says who?"

Natsu turned around frantically and grabbed the blonde's arm. "Lucy, I'm hot, right?"

Her cheeks flushed bright red as she looked away. "I-I'm not going to justify that with an a-answer."

"But Luuuce-"

"Lu-chan, why don't you answer him?" Levy giggled at the flustered expression of her best friend as Natsu was persistent in getting an answer.

Natsu wrapped his arms around the blonde's shoulders and began screaming, "Lucy, am I hot?! Am I ugly?! Tell me!"

"Natsu, g-get off." She was bright red at this point and losing air, "You sound like a hormonal teen girl-Mira, out the camera away!"

Mirajane shouted with a content expression, "Never!"

"Wow Erza, you're friends sure are.....fun to say the least." Jellal laughed nervously as her wrapped his arms around his girlfriend, whom just finished throwing a rock at Natsu's head.

"Yeah, they're good at heart. Just highly insane on the outside." She shook her head with a small smile. She loved her friends, even when she was strangling them for messing with her strawberry cake.

Gajeel groaned loudly as he tapped his fingertips on the handles of the ski. "Can we get this stupid race started already?"

"Can you at least try to act happy, Mr. Grumpy?" Levy teased him as she poked his frowning face. He flinched and glared down at her.

"Shrimp, I can be as grumpy as I want. Got that?"

"That's it, by the end of today, I'm going to make you smile." She clapped her hands together and nodded to herself.

He looked down at her and furrowed his eyebrow piercings together. His frown deepened. "What? No-"

She stuck her hands up with a mock expression. "No, I've already made it my mission. I can't go back on my word." She cracked open her eyes and grinned, "Be prepared, Mr. Redfox, you'll be smiling the biggest smile the world has ever seen by tonight."

"You're insane."

"And a genius."

"And short-Ouch, why?!" He cried as he cradled the forming bruise on his arm.

She crossed her arms over her chest and pouted. "I thought you would have learned by now. Don't make fun of my height or else."

"The race is going to begin in ten seconds!" Erza announced towards their left. "Everyone get in positions. Natsu, please release Lucy. Gray, put your damn swim suit on."

"Wha-oh crap!"

She sat down onto her ski and grasped the handles tightly. Erza felt a small shock shoot through her body as Jellal wrapped his arms around her waist. "Are you sure you want to drive?" He asked her.

"I'm certain, I must crush my guild mates with my own driving skills." She gripped the rubber and focused on the ocean in front of her.

"That's a healthy reason. Totally not bizarre at all." He mumbled just quiet enough so Erza was just unable to hear it.

"Ready? On your marks," Lisanna shouted over the sounds of the waves.

"Get set," Everyone glared at their opponents, some of the more childish ones sticking their tongue out at one another.

"GO!"

The jets skis roared loudly as they zipped past Lisanna and the others. Romeo cheered after them, "Go Natsu-nii!"

Wendy smiled and cupped her hands over her mouth. She yelled at them, "Good luck, minna!"

Meanwhile, the actual racers were wrecking havoc across the water. Team Jerza was tied with Team Gale in the lead. Natsu and Lucy were behind them, leaving Gray and Juvia in last.

"Gray-sama, we're losing. Go faster!" She ordered over the sounds of the engines. As she saw the blur of blonde in front of her, she had a great idea. "Get us closer to Lucy and the idiot."

"Right away, I hope you know what your doing." he chuckled as he neared their opponents.

"Crap, their gaining on us!" Natsu hissed as he glanced over his shoulder. Before he could try anything, Lucy screamed.

"Juvia, don't you-" A jet of water slammed into the side of their jet ski, thus sending them into the air and their ski flipping. As they broke the surface of the water, Team Gruvia zoomed past them.

"Damnit, Juvia!" Lucy cried out as Natsu was pretending to drown. At least she thinks he was pretending.

"Sorry, Lucy!"

Gray laughed at the sight and turned to her. "Juvia, that was awesome!"

"We will win this! Full speed ahead! Juvia can see the others ahead of us!" She shouted with a determined expression. He nodded and leaned forward.

Ahead of them, Levy was causing Gajeel to panick. "You're going to get us killed! Slow down. That's too much, we're going to lose!"

"Would you just shut up for one damn second?! I am trying to focus." Gajeel snapped at her, earning a pinch in the arm.

"Gray and Juvia are gaining on us, speed up." She said, ignoring his anger.

He grumbled, "But you just-"

"Gajeel, hurry!" She cried out, watching the two carefully. They were certainly gaining speed. They would catch up to them in no time. And she didn't see Natsu or Lucy anywhere behind them.

Just as he started speeding up, Juvia shouted from behind them, "Gray-sama, now!"

"Ice Make: Floor!"

First, the surface underneath them began to freeze and attach onto their. They halted to a stop and jolted forward. "What the hell?"

Levy grumbled and began to chant, "Solid Script: Fire!" Th word appeared in fiery letters and slammed against the cold ice. It slowly began melting away.

Just as they were almost thawed out, another jet ski passed them. This time, it was the recovered Team Nalu. "Bye, Levy-chan!"

As soon as they were free, they sped up and joined the race once more.

"Jellal, do you see any of the others?" Erza asked her boyfriend. She was too busy focusing on not crashing into the gigantic waves that seemed to keep popping up.

He squinted his eyes and saw nothing. "I don't see-no, wait. I see Gray and Juvia."

"What?" Erza cried out, narrowly missing another boat. In the distance, she saw the faint red flag that symbolized the finish line. "But they were in last place!"

"Looks like they used magic." He guessed as he watched the pair from behind.

She turned to him and said, "If that's so, then switch with me. You drive and I'll fend those two off."

"Yes, m'am." He pretended to salute her as they climbed over one another. He grabbed the handles and pushed on the throttle.

Gray watched as Erza glared at them, sending a shiver down his back. "Juvia," He called out, "You sure about this?"

She ignored him and stood up on the jet ski. With one hand wrapped securely around his shoulders, she stood in a readied position. Her other hand was extended, pointing out towards the Requip Mage.

"Water Impact!"

Jellal shot to the left, sensing the magic aiming at them. Erza slammed into his back, just barely falling off. He wrapped his free arm around her waist protectively, "You alright?"

"I-I'm fine. We're almost at the finish line." She steadied herself on the vehicle and narrowed her eyes at Juvia. A lance appeared towards her left as she quickly swiped it from the air.

She aimed towards the jet ski, pulling her arm further back. In one swift motion she propelled the lance forward, watching as it lodged itself into the metal.

"Crap!" Gray exclaimed as it only missed his foot by a few centimeters. He breathed heavily and looked towards Jellal. He seemed to be thinking the same thing.

These girls are insanely competitive.

"Gray-sama, use your ice magic!" She pleaded with him. The ski was starting to slow down due to the lance. "I'll try to help us move."

She jumped into the water, letting it surround her. She concentrated and grabbed ahold of the butt of the machine. Her legs morphed with the water and shot forced the jet to move forward.

The finish line was just ahead of them. Gray and Erza were using their magic to fend one another off. It was neck and neck when the line was only a kilometer away.

They heard a click of a camera as they both passed the finish line. Gray jumped up from his stand and smiled. "Yes, we won!"

"I'm pretty sure it was us who won this." Jellal added nervously.

"No, Gray-sama and Juvia won. We got over the line first." Juvia argued.

Erza stepped up and slapped an arm around the three. "Usually, I'm against fighting against nakama. But it was obvious to everyone that we were the winners here."

"I got it on camera!" Mira smiled, waving the device in her hands. The four swam over and peered at the screen.

She skipped past various images of her favorite pairings on the beach or here and now. There was pictures of Elfman and Evergreen together, trying to hide from the crowd.

One image that concerned them was of Laxus and Freed at the beach. By the angle, they didn't seem to notice any of the pictures that were being taken. And both men were shirtless. Mira quickly skipped past it and stuttered, "L-let's all forget we saw that."

"Whatever, just tell us who won." Gray huffed, silently thinking Juvia had rubbed off on Mira. Or was it the other way around?

"Fine, it was..." She paused and carefully examined the photo. "Team Jerza winning by just a limb. Jellal's limb to be exact."

In the picture, Erza was slamming into his body, making him flail forward. "Alright, Jellal. I told you we won."

In the distance, you could see Natsu and Lucy riding on their jet skis, with Lucy driving. Levy was driving behind them, Gajeel on the back. Both drivers had worried faces while the men were slumped onto the seat.

"Wendy, the Troia wore off!" Levy screamed as the dragon slayers began to hurl into the ocean.

I don't think I give Jerza enough moments as they deserve. So now they winners!

While I was writing this, I was just jamming out to Fairy Tail theme songs and Vocaloid songs. Does anyone have any song recommendations for me? Any type I will not care.

Today in my English class, holy crud. So my teacher started analyzing fairy tales which already made me freak out. Then for homework, she assigned us all a character from Snow White to write about. And guess what my best friend (the FT one) and I got?

HAPPY THE DWARF. We just started laughing hysterically in the middle of class. It was really bad.
