"Wait up!" I shouted at my two comrades. They were running in front of me to get to the boat first and left me in their dust. I ran faster to catch up with them.
"Hurry up, Ruby!" one of them shouted. I wore a turquoise T-shirt that reminded me of the ocean with sky blue colored shorts that glowed in the sun. My long, black hair reached the back of my knees and flew behind me as I ran. My deep sea blue eyes shimmered in the warm, glowing sunlight.
"I know, Silver!" I shouted back. Her very long, dirty blond colored hair blew in her face and covered her soft gray eyes. Her black shirt sleeves draped over he shoulders and matched her short, pink skirt. Her black boots went up to her knees and had a small heel in the back that made every step sound like clop clop clop.
   "We'll leave you behind if you talk like that!" the other shouted.
"Oh not you, too, River!" I shouted as I caught up to them. In the front, she had shoulder length hair, but it was cut in an angle where it was longer in the back. Her hot pink hair reminded me of flamingos every time I looked at her. Her vibrant pink tank top matched hair. Over her tank was a lacy white sweater with dark navy blue jean shorts. Her golden peep toe pumps shimmered in the sunlight as she ran to the boat.
Once we were on the boat, the three of us walked to the bow and looked out to the vast sea ahead. Then Silver looked at us, a worried look on her face.
"What are we going to do about it?" she asked. River and I exchanged glances.
"Uh... I think we should join a guild," I said. River was about to object, but I put my hand up. "It looks like out best option. I can't stand running anymore. I think we should all learn how to hone our own magic."
"Are you saying we should leave each other?" Silver asked. "After all we've been through, you just want to break up the team?"
"Well," I started, "not break up the team, just join a guild together, but focus on our own."
"They're going to find us sooner or later," River said. "We might as well do it."
"Fine," Silver said.
"Come on, Silv," I said, putting my arm around her. "It won't be that bad."
"Everything with you is always bad," River joked.
"Hey!" I shouted, but laughed with the two of them. After we were done, I left to go to my room. It was just a small, square room with a small full bathroom to the right. There were two queen beds with a table in between with two lamps on top. I groaned and splopped down on the left bed. Just then my stomach growled and I groaned some more. I got up, grabbed my purple purse, swung it over my shoulder and walked out of my room. As I turned around, the boat tipped upward and I slid into someone. We both went tumbling to the ground and when I looked up, I saw the hallway light of the boat that straightened.
"Are you alright, Yuki?" a voice asked. I sat up and saw a boy about my age lying in front of me. He had messy, golden blond hair and wore a orange fire colored shirt and black shorts. But what disturbed me the most was the thing next to him. It was a white cat with wings. The cat opened its mouth and spoke again. "Yuki, wake up!" it said. The boy stirred and put his hand on his forehead.
"Whoa, what happened?" he asked, looking around. His dark blue eyes fell on me and I stared at him. "What's up?" he asked with a grin on his face. The cat then took its paw and slapped him in the face. "Oww! What was that for, Yu?" he rubbed his cheek and then looked back at me. He scanned me up and down and I then realized I was blushing. I quickly got up, but the cat flew in front of me.
   "Yuki wants to talk to you," he said. I looked at Yuki and he also got up.
   "Your name is Yuki, right?" I asked, slowly.
   "Yeah," Yuki said, "Yuki Bronze and this little fella is Yu. What's your name?"
   "It's Ruby. Ruby Cress," I said.
   "Nice to meet you, Ruby," he said, putting his hand out. I took it and he said, "I know all the girls love me." I tightened my grip and growled at him. I heard a crack and Yuki yanked his hand away.
   "I hope that's a joke," I said, "because I doubt that."
   "Anyways," he said, holding his hand, "nice meeting you and hope I see you again soon." He walked away and I sighed, leaning on my door. I didn't know why, but I knew I was going to remember his name.
