Lady and Trish fought at the base of the large lake. A multitude of Mermaid-Demons, each wielding a trident, lunged from the lake toward the two female devil hunters with sinister intent.

Trish blocked three trident attacks with her sword, Sparda. She then sent an electric jolt from both her hands, through the sword, and sliced the tridents, and the three Mermaids in half. She lunged her left hand forward, and sent a blast of blue lightning directly through three more Mermaids, leaving holes in their chests before they all fell over and died.

Lady jumped to avoid a trident stab; she then pulled out both her pistols and shot bullets through the demon in front of her. Two more tried to jump her from behind, but she kicked one aside and shot the other one in the head. She used kicked the trident from the dead Mermaid and it impaled the last one. When four tried to lunge towards her, she jumped high. She pulled out her bazooka and shot at the mermaids below. She gracefully landed, and without looking, she lunged her rocket behind her, and the attached blade pierced through the chest of the oncoming Mermaid.

Trish and Lady then stood back-to-back as more Mermaids surrounded them. The demons snarled at their two adversaries. 

Lady: You doing alright?

Trish: Just warming up.

Suddenly they saw acid rain on the Mermaids, melting them.

Lady: What the hell was that?

Trish: Acid rain? 

???: Who are you?

The two then saw something on top of a fountain. It was a giant female inscet-like demon.

Lady: (disgusted) Gross. That's the ugliest female demon I've ever seen.

Trish: You said it. 

Demon: (comes near Lady and Trish) WHO THE FUCK ARE YOUUUUUU?!?!?!

The demon started to throw up on them, but Lady and Trish moved away from the demon quick before the demon could spit at them.

Lady: You missed! 

Trish: Names Trish. And this is my partner Lady. Now who might you be, disgusting bug.

Succubus: You dare mock me?! I'm the great and beautiful Succubus, you bitchs! 

Lady: (raised an eyebrow) Succubus? Didn't Dante said he killed you? 

Succubus: Dante? Son of Sparda? And Eva the whooooorrrrreeeee?

Succubus started to throw up again before Lady and Trish moved. 

Trish: Geez. Is this thing the best Vergil's got?

Lady: But let's wrap this up quick; the others may need our help taking that freak down.

Trish: Read my mind.

Succubus: You two want to kill me? You two can't kill me! I'm twelve hundred years old! 

Lady: You don't look a day over twelve thousand. (laughing) 

Succubus: Fuck you!

Trish: Yeah, well fuck you too. 

She charged her hands and sword with lighting as Lady readied her weapons.

*With Natsu*

Castle Rooftops.

Griffon screeched as he dived forward, beak first. Natsu avoided it just in time as the beak pierced the roof. Using this to his advantage, Natsu charged forward.

Natsu: Fire Dragon Talon! 

Natsu delivered a flaming kick straight at Griffon's head, forcing the giant demonic bird back. 

Natsu wasn't through yet as he used fire from his feet as a booster and launched directly at Griffon.

Natsu: Fire Dragon Sword Horn! 

Natsu head-butted Griffon. 

The impact forced Griffon into the air, who stabilized himself with his wings soon after.

Griffon: You are much stronger than the average human. However, I am far superior to your worthless kind!

Griffon then flapped his wings and sent several large bolts of red lightning down toward Natsu. The Fire Dragon Slayer was able to jump and dodge most of the lightning bolts, but one landed in front of him, knocking him back. 

That was enough for Griffon to launch a rather large bolt of red lighting, which scored a direct hit. Griffon looked down with a smile, but it vanished when the dust settled and Natsu was still standing.

Natsu: Sorry birdbrain, but I got experience with lightning!

Griffon: Amusing. This may indeed prove to be a challenge for once.

He flew down to Natsu and tried to squash him with his large talons; but Natsu caught them with his hands. 

The Salamander was pushed back a bit. But once he dug his feet into the ground, Natsu slowly stopped and wouldn't move.

Natsu: Think you can outmuscle me? Ain't gonna happen you Dodo-Bird!

He used Griffon's momentum to flip the demon bird over him, sending him rolling across the massive rooftop.

When Griffon recovered he saw Natsu in the air just above him. 

Natsu: Fire Dragon Brilliant Flame! 

Natsu tossed a massive fireball straight for the surprised demon bird. 

With no time to react, Griffon flapped his wings and sent an equally large red lightning ball straight at the attack.

Both collided and created a massive explosion of fire and lightning. Griffon soared back in the air from the dust, and Natsu stood his ground.

Natsu: I don't got time to play around with you! I gotta kick your ass real quick so I can rescue my friends!

Griffon: What?! You were going easy on me?! You dare to take me so lightly?! I am a demon general! Servant of the mighty Mundus! I will not be treated like a merger beast not even worth the effort!

Natsu: Mundus huh? Tell me something. You say you serve Mundus; so why are you helping Vergil?

Griffon: You believe I want to aid him?! That insolent fool bares the same wretched blood of the accursed Sparda! However, due to an artifact he stole; Vergil has forced me into his service. However, he stated that if I kill you, he will free me from his grasp.

Natsu: So you're a slave.

Griffon: I am NO slave! Once I am freed, I will kill that vile half-demon, and his brother. Then Mundus will greet me with great praise for ridding the blood line of Sparda once and for all!

Natsu: That ain't' gonna happen you overgrown Turkey!

Griffon: You are defending Vergil?

Natsu: HELL NO!!! Vergil kidnapped my friends! I ain't defending that piece of crap! But you also threatened Dante, and he's my friend! Anyone who threatens my friends will be burnt to a crisp!

Griffon: I've had enough of your tomfoolery! Prepare to die!

He flapped his wings at a rapid rate, creating a large windstorm surrounding him. Griffon then roared as he blasted a massive red lightning bolt straight for Natsu.

Natsu: You first! Fire Dragon Roar! 

Natsu unleashed his breath attack, sending an equally large torrent of flame from his mouth.

Both attacks collided and were in a large struggle of one trying to overpower the other. Both opponents glared at each other as they were still locked in a stand off. 

But the fire was able to push the lighting back and it blasted straight for the surprised Griffon.

After a large explosion, the smoking Griffon began to fall. But he soon stabilized himself with his wings and was now hovering closer to Natsu. 

Griffon: (thoughts) No. It couldn't be.

He recognized the sensation of that fire; he knew he felt Natsu's attacks felt somewhat familiar.

Griffon: You are no ordinary human. Your attacks, your ferocity. They bear near equal strength to that of a dragon. 

Natsu looked surprised at Griffon's statement.

Griffon: But not just any dragon. Your fire, that stench you carry, it is the same smell of that foul beast Igneel!

Natsu's eyes went wide at that.

Natsu: You know Igneel?

Griffon: Yes, that foul creature. 

Natsu glared at Griffon for saying that.

Griffon: When Sparda defected to this world, he had found powerful allies; the dragons. When Master Mundus and his forces attacked your world, it wasn't just Sparda who came to their defense, the dragons also aided him in his cause. The Fire Dragon, Igneel was one who stood with and fought with the traitor.

Natsu: (thoughts) Dante's dad knew Igneel?

Griffon: I have clashed with that Dragon on multiple occasions, and yet somehow, I lost each battle. Now thanks to you, I have a new goal that I must achieve before I return to my true master. After I kill both the sons of Sparda, I will hunt down that vile dragon and bring his severed head to Master Mundus!

Natsu's pupils shrunk with anger and it looked like he was about to pop a vein. 

Natsu: I'M NEVER GONNA LET THAT HAPPEN!!! Before you can even think about killing Igneel, which by the way you can't, you have to kill me first!

Griffon: That is my plan!

Griffon soared and caught Natsu in his claws. He then began to fly straight up towards the night, cloudy sky. He kept flying higher and higher as Natsu struggled in his grip.

Griffon: This will mark the end of you, Dragon Slayer!

Natsu: I don't think so!

His whole body suddenly lit on fire. Griffon was surprised but still held his grip as he continued to fly higher. Natsu's fire began to grow, both in strength and intensity. 

Griffon felt the heat begin to scorch his feet until the flames engulfed his lower body, forcing Griffon to let go. He saw the flaming Natsu begin to fall.

Griffon: (thoughts) The fool. He's doomed himself, not even he can survive a fall from this height.

Surprisingly however, Natsu blasted fire from his feet and soared at amazing speeds straight up for Griffon, who was so stunned he couldn't even move. Natsu soared with a flaming fist and severed Griffon's right wing; much to the demon's shock.

The demon screeched in pain as his left wing began to flap rapidly, to keep him from falling. Natsu stopped his ascent and sent a massive wave of fire with the sweep of his legs. 

The wave hit Griffon's left wing, causing it to explode. Griffon yelled even more in pain and began to scream as he began to fall back towards the castle. Natsu, still covered with flames, fell after him. 

Natsu: I'm through playing games with you pal! You're done! Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Flame Lotus Phoenix Sword!

Natsu's flaming body flew at an even faster rate, and the flames surrounding his body took the form of a flaming spear. 

The falling Griffon looked in fear as Natsu soared at him with incredible speeds and pierced through his body like a flaming arrow. 

At first, Griffon thought it would be his end, but his hatred for Igneel drove him back up as his wings somehow regenerated before he screeched in rage. 

Griffon: No! I will not be bested by a mere human! I am Griffon, a demon general that controls lightning and wind! 

Natsu: Shut up, bird brain!

Natsu's fist ignites on fire as he launches at Griffon who creates massive tornado make all Natsu's fire disappear.

Griffon: What's the matter? Can't handle the breeze?

Natsu: Coward, you just had to go and create a tornado! Fire Dragon Roar!

Natsu unleashed a torrent of flame from his mouth straight to Griffon, but the wind pushed and flied back to his face. He even he blocked it it, he was bruised by his own attack. 

Natsu: What the-I don't understand, how did he do that?

Griffon: Just as I expected, you're completely helpless against my demonic wind. Looks like I have the upper hand.

Natsu: No way!

Then Natsu jump into the tornado, using the wind to blast him to Griffon and attack. He punched at the demon bird, but he didn't even flinched. 

He slapped Natsu with his wing than release a red lightning blast from his mouth which send Natsu to the ground. 

Then Griffon use red lightning cover his body and fly at extremely high speed around Natsu, attacking him from every direction. The Dragon Slayer fell to his knee.

Natsu: I can't believe how strong Griffon is, he's stronger than any enemy I've ever thought.

Griffon: Now do you understand who you're dealing with? The artifact Vergil got his hands on made me not even have 1% of my real power.

Natsu: (shocked) No way... 

Griffon: I enjoyed our match, but play time is over. 

Griffon sow through the sky and raised his wings as he summons a massive thunderbolt from the sky to kill Natsu.

Griffon: After I kill you, I'll be free to find and kill that wretched dragon Igneel! With him dead, Master Mundus will promote me to be his strongest general at his side!

Natsu: (angry) No... I won't let you kill Igneel! I'm gonna protect him from anyone, even you!

Suddenly, Natsu able to stand up and somehow able absorb the red lightning, shocking Griffon.

Griffon: What the-?!

Natsu's body surged with lightning, the same kind of yellow electricity that Laxus normally uses. He channeled all the fire power he could muster and mixed it with the lightning that surged around him. 

Soon, Natsu's body was engulfed with a mixture of both flame and lightning and achieved Lightning-Flame Dragon.

Griffon: Impossible! He was able to combined his fire and my lightning?! 

Natsu in his Lightning-Flame state was the first to land a powerful punch to Griffon's face, fire and lightning surging together in his fist before he sent him flying. 

Natsu then delivered a kick at the demon bird's head which unleashed lightning that surprisedly electrocuting him.

Natsu: This is what happens to anyone who messes with Fairy Tail!

Natsu punched Griffon across his face with a fist surging with fire and lightning before Natsu  unleashes a Brilliant Flame attack filled with both fire and lightning which he struck at Griffon dead-on.

Griffon: No way...! How can you... be so powerful...!

Natsu inhaled and drew in all the magic he could muster as he prepared his most powerful breath attack yet. 

Natsu: LIGHTNING-FLAME DRAGON ROAR!!!

Natsu had unleashed a breath attack that was at least three times the size of all his previous ones. Griffon absorbed lightning from the sky than fired a blast of red lightning and tornado at Natsu.

The two attack struggle with each other for the while until Natsu's roar able to win and hit Griffon, dealing massive damage to the demon bird.

Griffon: (thoughts) This boy... the power he wields... he's a true... Dragon Slayer.

Griffon's body exploded, in a massive blast of fire and lightning that rocked and shook the clouds in the sky.

Natsu landed on the castle rooftop on both his feet and his right fist, and made a bit of a crater. The flames died around him as some small flaming pieces of the deceased Griffon fell around him.

Natsu: I hope you saw that Igneel. That was for you. Now I gotta rescue my friends. (shout) If you can hear me Vergil, I hope you saw that too, BECAUSE YOU'RE NEXT!!!

*With Lady and Trish* 

Back at the lake; Lady fires her guns at Succubus's faces, she pukes at her who dodges it. 

Trish: Nice nails, let us cut them for you!

Trish used her sword, Sparda to hit Succubus's fingers. Trish ran towards Succubus, as she decided to used both of her to kick her face. 

Succubus spits toxic acid at Trish who avoids and fires her guns with electric bullets at Succubus. 

Lady: Hey, Succubus! Suck on this!

Lady fires her bazooka at Succubus, making her scream in pain.

Succubus: AAAGH!!! I'm going to pull off your arms and legs, chew them up and puke them all over your pathetic face!

Lady: That shit makes no sense at all!

Trish then then sent an electric jolt from both her hands, through the sword, and sliced some of Succubus's many arms off. 

Succubus: AAAAGH!!! You disgusting fuck child! I'm going to pull off your head, piss down your neck and shit on your worthless carcass!

Succubus tried to punch them, but they jumped real quick before could get them.

Succubus: I told you two... You two can't kill me!

Trish run to Succubus, avoiding her punches before she jump on top of her. 

Succubus: You! Little! I'm... Gonna... Argh!

Trish then used the sword Sparda and stabbed Succubus through her head.

Succubus: AAAAAAAGH!!! Why won't you just die?!

Lady then saw the opportunity to put the missile of her bazooka on Succubus's mouth. 

Lady: You know what your problem is? You're too clingy!

Lady fires her bazooka inside Succubus as she and Trish got away from her before Succubus got exploded, killing her. 

Trish: We think you're all mixed up.

Trish and Lady each took a few deep breaths to catch their breath as they were surrounded by the mutilated, sliced, blown up, and scorched bodies of dozens of Mermaid demons.

Trish: Well... that was fun.

Lady: That depends on how you define fun.

They both heard a loud explosion and looked towards the castle and saw a massive firey explosion with some lightning.

Lady: Natsu?

Trish: Natsu.

Lady: Damn, he's more destructive than Dante, and that's saying something.

Trish: Five hundred dollars says he's gonna start hunting Vergil down. Maybe we should give him a helping hand.

Lady: Good idea. Let's also hope the others are doing okay to.

The two then began to run back to the castle as they hoped to find a few of the guild wizards before they could find Vergil, for all their sakes.
