The light in the room was soft and warm, like the embrace of a quiet afternoon. Wendy's eyes fluttered open slowly, her senses returning piece by piece. The first thing that struck her was the overwhelming sensation of disorientation. The last thing she remembered was holding a strange golden key in Fairy Tail's guildhall, feeling a sudden surge of energy—then, everything had gone bright. Now, she was somewhere entirely unfamiliar.

As she blinked and tried to focus, she realized she was lying in an unfamiliar bed. The surroundings were nothing like the lively, bustling atmosphere of Magnolia, nor did they resemble the familiar halls of Fairy Tail. It was quiet, the room almost serene, with soft, neutral-colored walls and simple furniture. She winced slightly as she sat up, a dull ache spreading through her head, and rubbed her forehead.

Her clothes were the same as before—her flowing blue dress, the band around her arms—but something about the atmosphere felt... off. She looked around again, but there was no one in sight. The only sounds she could hear were muffled voices coming from outside the door, faint laughter, and warm conversation that contrasted sharply with the confusion swirling inside her.

"Where am I?" Wendy whispered to herself, her voice trembling slightly with uncertainty.

Her heart was racing, and a wave of panic almost overwhelmed her, but she steadied herself. This wasn't home—she could tell that much. Yet, somehow, she wasn't entirely alone. There were people here.

Wendy stood up cautiously, her feet touching the cool floor. Hesitation lingered for a moment, but the sound of voices reached her again, and her curiosity propelled her forward.

She took a few steps toward the door, pausing to collect herself before reaching for the doorknob. Her fingers brushed against the cool metal, and with a deep breath, she slowly opened the door, stepping into the hallway.

The corridor stretched out in front of her, peaceful and almost too quiet. At the far end, she spotted three figures—two adults and one younger boy—standing in conversation. The man, tall and broad-shouldered, looked to about 20 years old and had brown hair, the woman, with short, blue locks, looked to be the same age and was poised and graceful, and the boy with messy blond hair looked to be about her age, his expression bright and open. But what caught Wendy's attention most was the strange, small creature the woman was holding—a white, fluffy, cat-like thing with horizontal blue eyes and tiny paws.

"What is that?" Wendy murmured aloud, her voice a barely audible whisper as she stared at the creature.

The man with brown hair—Terra, Wendy would later learn—noticed her first. His eyes widened in surprise, and he turned to her with a kind smile. "Hey, you're awake," he said gently, stepping toward her.

The woman with blue hair—Aqua—followed his gaze and approached Wendy with a soft, caring expression. "You're awake! How are you feeling? You took quite a fall," she asked, her voice soothing and warm.

Wendy blinked at them, still trying to make sense of everything. "I... I'm okay, I think," Wendy replied, her voice weak, her confusion apparent. "I just... where am I? And who are you?"

The boy, Ventus, grinned brightly at her, clearly excited by her awakening. "We found you when you fell from the sky," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "You were unconscious, but Aqua said you'd be fine. You're lucky, you know?"

"Fell from the sky?" Wendy repeated in disbelief, rubbing her forehead as if trying to clear the fog from her thoughts. "That doesn't make any sense..."

Terra, his expression serious but gentle, nodded. "It happened just after a strange storm. There was this swirling vortex in the sky, and something—or rather, someone—fell out of it. We found you lying on the training grounds."

"I'm Aqua," the woman said with a soft smile. "And this is Ventus," she gestured to the boy, "and this is Terra," she pointed to the tall man, "and that's Chirithy," she gestures to the stuffed animal-like cat. "We're Keyblade wielders, and we're here in the Land of Departure. I'm sure this place is... very different from where you come from."

Wendy stared at them, still trying to process the words. "Keyblade wielders? The Land of Departure?" None of it sounded familiar.

"I'm Wendy," she finally managed to say, offering a small, tentative smile despite the whirlwind of confusion in her mind. "I'm from a place called Earthland. I'm a mage—more of a healer, actually." She hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to ask next. "But how did I get here? One minute I was with my guild, and now... I'm here." The words tumbled out in a breathless rush, and her voice trembled slightly as a wave of uncertainty flooded over her.

Ventus crouched in front of her, his eyes wide and full of excitement. "You're from another world? Like, a completely different one?" He sounded so thrilled by the concept, as if meeting someone from another world was the most exciting thing to happen to him all day.

Wendy nodded, her brow furrowed in confusion. "Yeah, I'm from a place called Earthland. I belong to a guild called Fairy Tail... it's my family."

Terra raised an eyebrow thoughtfully. "Fairy Tail? I've never heard of it, but it sounds important to you."

Aqua's expression turned pensive. "Maybe this is some kind of magic," she mused aloud, glancing between Terra and Ventus. "The key you found—it might have connected your world to ours. We've encountered other worlds before, but this... feels different."

Wendy's eyes widened as she suddenly remembered the key. "The key!" she exclaimed, a flash of clarity breaking through the fog. "It was in my guild's storage room—a strange golden key with a green top. I touched it, and everything went bright, and... and then I ended up here!"

Aqua nodded slowly. "That sounds like a portal key. They've been known to open pathways between worlds. But usually, those who use them are prepared. You must've been taken here by accident."

Wendy looked down, her heart sinking with a new sense of anxiety. "I didn't mean to," she whispered, a pang of guilt striking her chest. "I don't even know how to get back."

"It's okay," Ventus said with a bright grin, trying to lift her spirits. "You're with us now! We'll figure it out together!"

Chirithy, still nestled in Aqua's arms, perked up at the sound of Wendy's voice. "You're not alone," it chimed in, its soft voice filled with warmth. "We're your friends now."

Wendy smiled softly, feeling the warmth of their kindness enveloping her. She didn't know how she'd ended up here or how she would get back, but for the first time since she'd arrived, she felt a glimmer of hope.

"Thank you," Wendy said quietly, her voice filled with sincerity. "I'm glad to be with you all."

The group exchanged smiles, and Terra's voice broke the moment of silence. "Don't worry, Wendy. We'll help you. And maybe, in the process, we'll find a way back to your world."

With those comforting words, Wendy's heart lightened. Though the road ahead was uncertain, she knew one thing for sure—she wasn't alone. And for now, that was enough.
