First Real Date

  15. Bliss, the year of the Unicorn

Dear diary,

After everything, I told you about me and Van, you must be wondering if we ever went on a real date, or did we just explore our different worlds.

I bet you are also wondering what kind of magical date a fairy and an elf can have.

Well, today, I have decided to share that with you, because it was a beautiful moment, and I looked stunning if I do say so myself.

Van was, of course, his regular dashing self, and it was such a perfect moment for the two of us that it will forever be one of my favorite moments of our love story.

I know that people often say that, but I am pretty sure that, in my case, it is true.

Although every moment spent with him is beautiful and special in its way, there was something, dare I say, magical, about our first real date.

Surprisingly enough, I was very nervous before the actual date, which was quite uncommon for me.

In the past, whenever I had dates with fairy guys, I was very confident and self-assured, there was never any trace of nervousness before, during, or after the dates.

I mean, I know that I am stunning and smart, and generally an excellent fairy specimen, so I didn't need those guys' validation.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I never felt strongly about them.

Usually, I would find them cute or interesting, we would go out, they wouldn't be able to handle my general awesomeness, and that would be it.

It was so different with Van, well everything is different with him.

Although he kept showering me with compliments, I was afraid that when he got to know me, he wouldn't like me as much.

I worried about that more than I should have because even then I knew that I liked him more than I ever liked anyone before him.

Since he was the one planning the first date, we agreed that we should do something fun in his world, so I had to magically change myself to his size.

Surprisingly enough, I even managed to reduce my wing size, so they didn't bother me as much as they used to.

Although I didn't mind the times they did trip me because they helped me end up in Van's arms.

Van didn't tell me where we were going since he wanted it to be a surprise.

The only clue I got was to dress fancy and be ready for a magical night out.

Honestly, I had no idea what to expect. Van could be romantic and thoughtful, but he could also be mischievous, so I was slightly worried about what he had planned for us.

I trusted him of course, I still do, but even now, I can't predict if he will be sweet or if he will be a mischievous little devil, whom I adore.

I love both sides of him because they make him who he is, but I still wanted our first date to be perfect.

However, I wasn't sure if he was aware of my expectations, being a guy and an ex-player, it was debatable if he could understand my needs.

Well, I guess he was never actually a player, those were mostly rumors, but that didn't stop me from being anxious about what we would do.

Although it was an evening date, I decided not to put on a regular formal evening gown, but instead, I chose to wear my favorite gown.

It was magenta and moss corset gown, with detachable train and loop bustle.

I paired the dress with a floral headband and chose a pair of beautiful pink sparkling shoes.

I decided to let my hair flow freely because I was sure it suited me the best.

Upon taking one look in the mirror, I knew that I looked amazing, but I couldn't help but wonder if Van would think the same.

I didn't use any makeup or whatever it is that the human girls use for those kinds of situations, but I used all-natural ingredients to create something which, to the untrained eye of a human, might look like makeup.

What it was would surprise most of the humans. I used strawberries to put some color on my lips, and some crushed flower petals as the eye shadow.

It looked perfect, it was subtle enough not to be too obvious, but visible enough to make my face even more gorgeous.

Upon meeting up, he proceeded to take me to the most beautiful place I had ever seen.

It was a beach restaurant that was shimmering so brightly that I couldn't help admiring its glimmering beauty.

As you might know, we fairies love shiny things, so I had a feeling that Van personally oversaw the decoration of the restaurant.

Another interesting thing was that the restaurant was empty, and there was only one table prepared for guests, our table.

Of course, it was the one overlooking the moonlit ocean.

I couldn't decide what was more beautiful, the sparkling lights that were everywhere, or the shimmering reflection of the moon on the ocean's surface.

He truly did his homework, because most of the members of the fairy folk adore such things, and luckily for him, I am one of them.

As he pulled out the chair for me, there was gentle music coming from the inside of the restaurant.

"You look simply stunning." He said, with a look of pure admiration in his mesmerizing eyes.

I know you will want to find and kill my cute fairy self, but I have to stop here.

I feel too sleepy, and I don't think I will be able to describe to you how wonderful that first date was.

Instead of failing to make you understand how special it was, and how happy it made me, I will stop here, and tell you more about it next time.

Please don't hate me, my dearest diary, but I will have to do it just right so as not to tarnish the memory of that special evening.

Good night.
